Nice preview of the South Springvale game

From one cup to another: Australia prepares for the FFA Cup

I am from Brisbane and have never really like Gold Coast teams. However, this tournament feels different. Especially with interstate (NSW) opponents. Next year hopefully Sunshine Coast can give Gold Coast a better match.
Most Queenslanders will be backing all Queensland teams. Unlike Victoria and NSW I imagine. But hopefully Tasmania, WA, SA and ACT are the same.
I want Qld teams to only lose to A-League teams or each other.
This hopefully will mean a great turn out for the Olympic FC game. As football fans will attend, not just locals or “Greeks”.

I agree with AR. Especially when u play each other 3 times in a season
If u played 1 home 1 away, then both games should be played at anz , not 1 at anz 1 at sfs. That I would understand.
If wanders hosted a grand final against sfc , should they play at Parramatta?

I agree , they are the best looking so far.
I think it’s the later unfortunately.
They may even play in a revised kit.
We’ll have to wait and see.

How does the new Scot defender play?
I’m tipping the Tasmanians comfortably through this round.

RBB I’m not talking about their sponsor. I’m talking about the tournament sponsor.

This is all great. Again, if the stars align, we top our group and go on to win the Asian Cup the exposure would rival anything football has seen in Australia.
In this scenario , that would mean finals matches in Melbourne than 2 in Sydney.
The FFA should go full on with an open air bus through Sydney. Then have Ang and as many Socceroos players as possible do a tour of Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth with the trophy. Hell , why not Hobart and Canberra too.
The media couldn’t ignore this one and wouldn’t.

One game at a time first though.

How will the FIFA World Cup affect the A-League?

After seeing 3 FFA cup strips online ( knights, south Hobart and south Cardiff) it seems clubs have been forced to display the cup logo and sponsors name on a white badge “anywhere” on the front of the shirt.
What interesting is wether knights ignored the FFAs request and did what they wanted. Which IMO looks better. Or the other 2 clubs failed miserably with lack of vision.

On Gothenburg’s web page it says 1 year loan with buy option

How will the FIFA World Cup affect the A-League?

Thank heaven you didn’t mention the Iran game

How will the FIFA World Cup affect the A-League?

But in all seriousness….
If Glory ever finish top 4 again …….
And had a bigger following……
And drew Bayswater……

Would you object to them playing at NIB Stadium with all gate profits going to Bayswater?

I’m sure Bayswaters players would be happy to play in Broome if it meant playing Victory or any A-league club.

Please.
All game are intended to be played on Tuesdays. With exceptions on Wednesdays.
Play the game at 1pm on a Tuesday?

And

It’s not the FA Cup……. It’s the FFA Cup

Don’t be too concerned you got him on loan. Gothenburg have very good strikers. He’s played in Norway too. Both leagues are tactical and physical playing zonal defense.
Gothenburg attack quickly, many counter attacks as a team in many numbers. They also play positive attacking football.
If the Mariners do the same he’ll fit right in.
Also, many players from Africa and South America struggle with the pre-season in Scandinavia. He should strive through the season.

I’d like to see them play Palm Beach on the way.

Meh.
Just take a hip flask with some brandy. It’ll help with the bitterness and the cold.

Hopefully Victory and City can win their matches.
Get drawn against each other in the next round.
This would have benefits for the cup and an historic first clash where one team walks away as victors.
I’d love to see Kevin substitute himself on in the 119 min and line up for a penalty. 🙂

Victory fly west for FFA Cup

Hopefully…. But it should.

Winning the Asian Cup, would be a MASSIVE boost.
A trophy on home soil.!!!! Which easily eclipses Oceania titles.
This of course would earn us a place at the confederations cup 2017.
Exposure exposure exposure

Hopefully channel 10 buy the rights in 2017 too.

So strap in and Go Roar

How will the FIFA World Cup affect the A-League?

Seems like a desperate attempt to win the league. Can’t blame the broncos for trying to keep up with the Roar.

TURNER: Bennett’s Broncos homecoming is a play for power

I’m not so sure. If they can manage Kennedy (if he stays fit) or Bresciano (if he gets released) then you have a new form off attack either in the air or from free kicks.
Like in Brisbane, winning breeds winning. If City have a great start their confidence will be boosted. Their manager will be committing football suicide if he forms the team around players that will only be there for 10 games.
Again, once Villa goes and perhaps another, it will be interesting.
Adelaide doesn’t have the easiest first 10 rounds either.

Are Glory days headed for Perth again?

I think they will play well. But I think the other teams will be stronger.

Are Glory days headed for Perth again?

Mariners and Wanderers will struggle this season.
The way I see it there are 3 distinct groups.
1-4 victory, city, roar, sydney
5-8 adelaide, ccm, glory, wanderers
9-10 jets, wellington
If you look at last seasons table, I don’t think the difference between 2nd and 7th will be 6 points this season

NB. It will be very very interesting to see how City games are refereed this season. In respect to free kicks for Villa, Duff and if Lampard arrives.
On the other hand, I can see Wanderers players and fans getting frustrated when things stop going their way. I predict a few reds for them this season.

Are Glory days headed for Perth again?

It’s all well and good to be aiming at top four.

However unless Brisbane, Sydney and the 2 Melbourne teams have a major disaster I can’t see them placing higher than 5th.

Are Glory days headed for Perth again?

Thanks for informing me about Austria. I don’t know as much as you about it.
I only know the guys from Rapid come up every year and our guys go do win there every year.

Football in Australia is entering a conversion phase

Im arguing this

I had asserted “People all over the world turn up to watch their local leagues. Do you honestly think the people in Costa Rica, Denmark, Latvia, Slovakia, Croatia, etc. care more about EPL, SerieA, etc. than their local leagues? You can’t be serious!

This is wrong.

In nz I’m sure they watch epl or a-league.
In Thailand they are mad for epl. You can find a-league (victory) games very easily.
South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana actually most of Africa watch Epl. Most of Asia too.
Not sure about the exact numbers in Australia either.
