Life is but of froth and bubble. 2 things stand like stone: courage in another\\\'s trouble, silence in your own.

Agree. Alongside Warner in the aussie villain brigade is Clarke, Johnson, Haddin and Watson. Pity that these great cricketers have to behave like teenage bullies when their age, responsibilities and pay warrant much higher standards.

Where does Virat Kohli rank among the greatest villains to visit our shores?

And what about the price of a pie and chips?

Days numbered for the Prime Minister’s XI match?

Surely Lynn must be in this team.

Won’t the ball swing more when there is more moisture in the wicket. Given we have had a fairly moist summer and spring why were the wickets were so dry on day 1 of all four tests. Swing bowling and greenish wickets were rare in all the four tests played. Johnson and Harris said the same. Is this a new development for aussie pitches?
Enjoyed your article and comments but feel the biggest villains are aussies.

Especially in the car park at Adelaide Oval

Smith was hardly a villain. He just played it hard and led his team really well.

Where does Virat Kohli rank among the greatest villains to visit our shores?

Kohli made centuries on the last 2-3 days on rougher tracks when chasing big totals. His shots were those of a master craftsman. He drove all round the wicket. He is quick footed and sees the ball early. Not bad when you’re a new skipper and being sledged heavily by fielders and the crowd.

Where does Virat Kohli rank among the greatest villains to visit our shores?

Kohli is amongst the very best test batsmen of the modern era. He has that x-factor which puts him the same elite class as Lara, Tendulkar, Viv Richards and Sobers. No aussie batsmen of the modern era is in that group although a few are close.

What about Boycott and Bailley?

Where does Virat Kohli rank among the greatest villains to visit our shores?

Cricket is a wondrous game and we who love it are much the better for watching it and wondering about it.

Why did Steve Smith go for the draw and not the win of the Boxing Day test?

Why did M S retire from tests after the same test?

Why are aussies making so many elementary fielding errors?

Why would Virat and other young guns not give back some irate sledges to the arch sledgers?

But much more importantly. Why are some of our best aussie cricketers behaving like louts on the field?

After all, they are some of the most important ambassadors of our country. Do they not feel or understand that responsibility?

They portray our nation as a bunch of whingeing yobbos, making our politicians look like angels by comparison. That is quite a feat.

Mind you our top cricketers are overpaid and lack life experience. By comparison, most politicians are rich in life experience, leaving elite cricketers many lengths behind on that score.

The on-field behaviour of our top players suggests that they hold racist views a la Sutherland riots. Just look at their tatts.

Where is the aborigine playing top-level cricket? AFL and the rugby codes by contrast have given tremendous scope for aborigines.

Our aussie of the year, Adam Goodes, is a tremendous ambassador for our nation and he is a product of AFL. Listen to his interview on the BBC boof and get all the aussie cricketers to do the same. And please ask them to think about the words of goodsey.

Within days of the death of one of their much-loved players on the field the aussie test team has displayed some of the worst behaviour on a cricket ground ever seen in Australia..

They hunt as a pack against opponents and this is bullying at its worst.

Some former cricketers encourage this behaviour notably boof, pigeon and warney.

I doubt our overpaid and under-educated cricketers have much sympathy for the poor and disabled in Australia, India, Pakistan or elsewhere.

I do not doubt that they live in a bubble caught up with celebrity, quick dollars and poor ethics. Just look at the red carpet on the AB trophy night. That night tells a lot and makes me wonder about the depth of thought in the cricket elite.

Who can point to cricketers who have shown sympathy or affinity to foreign teams on the field. To play sport is different to the rutting season of the mountain goat.

Often our best cricketers are behaving worse than these goats. Pity about that

The last day of the MCG Test left many questions unanswered
