Get your hand off it. Shows why Australian rugby is in such a mess when so called respected journalists like you are so ignorant to write Rubbish like this. Zero reds in the team of the week is insane. Honestly stop writing!

Five things: Where DC got it wrong with Tahs, perception and reality for Wallabies hopeful as Test bolter shines

This is my breaking news. Eddie Jones didn’t pick Quade because he thought he was a dick in the squad. I have heard that from 2003 vintage players who are friends with EJ. Now examine why he may think that. It’s not because the players don’t love and respect him because whilst 19-year-old Quade may have been a dick mature Quade is far from. In fact, mature QC gets nothing but wraps from squad members. So why does Eddie tell everyone on the quiet who he coached in the 2003 era that QC is a dick and doesn’t pick him? Well, here is your answer.

After the Dunedin test match Both tom Hooper post game in a live interview and Carter Gordon in a newspaper interview. Both gave credit to quote Cooper for Words of advice. Both during the game, and at half time in Tom Hooper’s case. Jealous or insecure coaches might not like hearing players, giving credit to other players rather than themselves.

That would create jealousy, and thus this person is a dick. And then personal insecurity means don’t pick the player or dick that makes you look irrelevant. Boom, that’s exactly what happened and exactly why Quade isn’t there.

I would love someone in the media with access to Eddie Jones to put this to him, because this is precisely what has occurred

100%… I was worried after the all Blacks test in Dunedin when c Gordon gave praise to Quade Cooper for his tactical advice and as did Tom Hooper about playing his natural game. I suspect a lot of jealousy from the coaching staff when players gave credit to Quade rather than them. Can you imagine how insecure coaching staff would feel when players give credit to Quade Cooper, another player, rather than the coaching staff. Clearly they want to get rid of him because they want credit schoolboys shit

Yeah where are they all? It’s actually horrifying How one eyed Australians are to their players that they love and the players that they hate. No objectivity at all. I don’t think quade in his entire career had as big as shocker asD Gordon did on Saturday. Can you imagine what they would be saying, if that was Quade… different standards for different people. And it’s exactly that thinking that is cost Wallabies many many victories, including Saturday. Quade drops one ball from a terrible pass and is past it. So many people on this forum have said that, and so many in real life have said that. It’s laughable the double standards. And it’s costly.

Agree with everything you said other than the last comment about the brumbies. Please no.

Well, of course we want him to go well, but let’s face he is well and truly not our best 10…

And of course allow us to pick kellaway at 15…

Quade should come in for jorgo and Ryan Lonergan should come in for Nick White, who should never play another test… you then play Quade with Tate to start the games and Gordon off the bench with Lonegan who can take over the kicking… fines a handy backup to Tate… this would get us humming from the start and allow Gordon to play his natural game off the bench and start to build his confidence back up

A couple of points. Firstly, Carter Gordon was made to look bad by a beaten pack and on top of that a half back who took all his time, space and basically all his decision-making and ball away from him. Dan Carter would’ve struggled in those conditions. Secondly, how does Nick White get a position on that plane and Quade Cooper does not. Quade is the perfect solution to pretty much all our current problems. And all the haters out there, maybe start to put in perspective the one or two errors Quade might have in a game with the multitude of errors that every other Australian 5/8th in his time makes when given the chance… and that’s without all the upside that Quade adds through his playmaking, which sets any backline light, and his goalkicking.

Was referring to gold jersey. He does well for the brums for sure. I just haven’t seen it as test level in any great abundance. For example those 2 class touches by JP for our first 2 tries in n the weekend v Georgia he does regularly at test level. Lenny doesn’t possess those skills.

He’s the most durable front rower I’ve ever seen…he’s coming back from a big injury…these minor things will occur….

Like most of those comments but ikatau was not the horse for our new game plan. Defensively he was solid without being outstanding and attack not as good as that. Honestly never saw the bloke do much in a gold jersey and saw him miss tackles cold most games. He was a 5/10 attacker at best. I personally loving that he’s not there. C’mon wallabies!

TT is a big loss but not one we can’t manage over next 2 weeks, particularly with Pone looming for wales…Zane will be fine …and slips in his golden years does a lot better at THP then he used to (think Greg Holmes and his transition) so he’ll handle that to….it’s definitely a minus but as long as he’s back for 1/4’s then we can u leash him….can’t wait ro see TT and Pone tag teaming….that will scare any team…

Good read Will, but given BD’s super rugby season was let’s say flat, how can he get a spot above Quade? I get planning for the future but do we really think that BD will be part of that future? If that was the case, give me Tom Lynagh. I just don’t get the selection of BD.

WILL GENIA: Why Eddie had to choose between Nic and Quade, moment I felt Hoops was done, hardest done by duo

I like 32 of the 33 picks. The one I can’t get my head around is Donaldson. I’d have QC. Not even BDas a future pick as I just don’t see him having the talent. His entire rugby season was average. If you go for the future, I would’ve taken Tom lynagh.. I think BD is another Noah. Granted, QC hasn’t been at his best since returning from his injury but another five or six weeks may have seen him regaining that edge. Not to mention his ability to mentor Carter. Whilst he wasnt at his best in the lead up, he was still okay and more than a level or two above BD.

Eddie has done what was needed four years ago and ripped the bandaid off. Now he's breathed life into Aussie rugby

Loving this squad and that the days of brumbies getting an automatic plane ticket are over. The best players by and large have been picked.. you could argue over 1 or 2 spots but it’s a good squad. All teams have players which makes sense given the talent is spread among all teams…loving no Wright, Jake Gordon, either lonegan, Noah, Holloway, and more….it’s a good squad…

Shock and raw: New skipper, rookies galore and Test careers brutally ended as Eddie's RWC bombshells CONFIRMED

Jorgo was close to tahs best and if fit should be on plane. He is class personified and I’d back him all the way to the 1’s. Not only is it vital for 2027, he’s above all other contenders now. As for Wright, please, he’s simply not up to it at this level. Way too many brain fades and poor defence. Personally I’d take JOC over Donaldson, whom I don’t think is test standard. I’m d also ditch white and have lonegan and iFl if taking 3 halves.

Meaningless in the scheme of the results….

Wallabies fans appear comfortable with 0 and 4 – but some obvious questions remain

I’d add getting rid of Wright,l Lonergan, and the 1 tester 4th string brumbies Hooker who played wallabies last year. I’d add getting rid of lolesio and finally giving McDermott the chances he deserves. And Feassler and Petaia back to 13. Also Valentini improved out of sight. Richie Arnold better than Rory. Getting perese in there. Nursing QC back from his Achilles. Bell has lifted also. Lots of things from a coaching perspective you can see that Eddie has improved. Selections and player development.

Wallabies fans appear comfortable with 0 and 4 – but some obvious questions remain

I call it development. Rennie left us exposed, underdeveloped and without hope. He kept picking white, lolesio, foley ffs, Wright, 4th string brumbies hookers snd props, reserve brumbie backrowers, reserve brumbie backs. In short it was state bias BS. I could go on… focus selection wise now is massively improved. They are genuinely picking best cattle from all aus teams understanding that the number 1 team in aus doesn’t have the mortgage on talent. I’ll never forgive DR for that and the wasted years. Universally I think most people now believe we are very close to our best squad and best xv. That in itself is huge. And that gives me hope. We don’t need 35 players to win, just a very good 23. That we have. With some luck we can keep them fit and then who knows. DR was never and did never pick the best 23. That is a luxury aus Rugby can’t afford.

Wallabies fans appear comfortable with 0 and 4 – but some obvious questions remain

Eddie has 2 responsibilities….try and distinguish between his job to promote the game in aus (talking up those 4 games) and the reality that he needs to build a squad and this comes largely through experimentation on the field. The facts are he had to talk up those games (promote) and as a good coach he had to use them as preseason type settling and trying. Both points can be valid…

Wallabies fans appear comfortable with 0 and 4 – but some obvious questions remain

Injuries happen….but 17 I think it was under Rennie in 12 months was I believe demonstrated to be in part caused by the over intensive training…a few injuries is normal, not what we had under DR…trust you understand now…

Wallabies fans appear comfortable with 0 and 4 – but some obvious questions remain

He was a primal cause In those injuries….over intensive training….
