Because he doesnt back a halfback to defend in the centres against the bulk of Jonathon Davies – heck I probably wouldnt throw genia out there either. That said the Hooper/JOC misread in the centres is well documented anyway.
Deans has gone safety first with his selections
You are borderline delusional if you see Cummins playing 12. Unless you subscribe to the McCabe idea of crashing it up every phase he touches the ball. Hoping to see CL hit the wingers with some width and time. The match up on thew ings will be another highlight, not sure if Tomane will be able to handle Bowe’s experience at this level?
Deans has gone safety first with his selections
Peter Kimln had a couple of good game for the Brumbies not a wise idea to throw him to the Lions. Mowen was outplayed by Palu on the weekend.
Deans has gone safety first with his selections
Its symptomatic of his physicality at the breakdown that the Lion’s enforcer ‘O’Connell’ was essentially taken out by Palu.
Deans has gone safety first with his selections
Palu broke O’Connell’s arm and had a general barnstorming game (http://www.lions-tour.com/index.php/2013/06/24/paul-oconnell-ruled-out-of-test-series/) He played combatatively in the tight which is what Australia needs – he doesnt seagull like Higginbotham on the wing or play as a pseudo centre. He adds starch to our breakdown work.
The Cummins over Horne would leave us with little cover if CL needs to go off again. Horne can go into 12 or 13, with Mogg able to cover the back three, where required.
Interesting article, but dont understand the continued bashing of Palu.

Agree there was a bone crunching hit he made one out from the rucks, it was sickening (but awesome)
Deans rolls dice: O'Connor gets chance to redeem
Are you mental? Palu had a great game against the Lions.
Deans rolls dice: O'Connor gets chance to redeem
Is that his favoured position? I know KPM was raving that that was where he should be playing? Wallabies starting to have some good headaches in the backs – ie Godwin, Kuridrani, Tomane, Mogg, Taps

I agree I think Tomane is a much better player than Ioane, much better. I think the writing was on the wall for Diggaz and maybe that is why he is leaving for france.

I think Phillips i a loss, he really keeps the opposition pack honet around the fringes, allowing the Lion to outflank a defencemuch more easily.
British and Irish Lions team announced to face the Wallabies
Save shouldnt even be wearing a jersey considering his off field indiscretions – but then again we do have KB and Ioane.

I am starting to agree with you, it is nice to have some serious size in our backline as well after being so small for while. If Tomane is half as good as Folau. wow.
I have heard others with similar wraps on Tomane. Is it just the case that the Brumbies dont wing it too much so we havent seen the best of him?

Yup I watched it, hard to erase its memory, been a tough week. Hoping for the win this weekend

I think it was his medial which is much better than the ACL. But I agree very relieved he wasnt rushed back and Gill gets another go.

I still believe given the weight of Barnes’ performances that he is a steady and awesome player.

Why are you even talking about Barnes, when he isnt in the matchday 23? Are you trying to have a personal dig? If so, thats a little bit pathetic.

Sorrya bit confused on your maths? are you saying he bombed a try? thought he only missed two kicks?

would make sense if Izzy was. I thought Digby was smaverage last week, he got caught running sideways a couple of times, and he does, as you say, seem to have lost that extra half yard. He also isnt that prolific tryscorer, although I know he has a heavy workrate getting over the AD line.
Will be interesting to see if Tomane is used in a similar sort of role? He plays as a traditional winger for the Brumbies in Super.

Hopefully CL will be able to run into a hole of JOC, rather than McCabe who looked clueless running off JOC a number of times.
JOC, like KB takes it to the line, then holds the line drifts across it slightly and then waits for line runners to hit the ball flat (similar to League) – AAC is capable of running some good lines, and they will need CL to play this direct role in addition to giving the backline width (eg hitting folau/tomane).
Very excited abot seeing CL in gold finally!

But its like RedKev said,we never got a chance to see it, so good on him for sticking to his plan. Its not as if it didnt work and he is stubbornly sticking to the same game plan.
