Compared to the last two Cricket World Cups, the 2019 edition has the best tournament format - one that gives favourites such as India…
Still didnt win this game, ended up like his 146 @ Eden Park 4 years back. Not that it is his fault that Australia lost this game, but the point is this was his first meaningful knock after that 146 😂 😂 . and he was a total flop in 2019 world cup.

Good one Paul :), yea Cricket Australia is killing the game with their greed for money – like ODI cricket behind pay wall and way too long Big Bash season. Like you said, even I dont want to spend money for paid subscription to watch cricket – unless it is a Cricket World Cup or some thing.

The rule thing is not England’s problem, but ICC’s. Ideally the rule should have been who finished higher on the ladder. New Zealand sneaked into the Semi’s just because of the rained league match against India. I agree that NZ were robbed off the title with that over throw and silly boundary count back rule. But that doesnt take any credit away from the England – they beat both India and Australia convincingly and according to me, they deserved to win the title.

Last time Maxwell scored some runs was against a useless Pak bowling in Middle East (and just one good innings against SL in world cup). Australia is over dependent on it’s openers to produce big scores – it was evident in last year’s World Cup and not resolved yet

I hope Australia wins the one day series at least. It was the defeat at the hands of South Africa in the last league match of World Cup denied Australia a first place finish in the league stage (which helped ENG I feel). So the Aussie fans want to exact revenge for that loss.

Good Article Ryan, definitely the exclusive coverage to Fox Cricket for few games has impacted the viewership count for sure. But CA doesnt bother a bit, they need more money. I feel this season is slightly better than last season with more star players. Still it is boring to watch for me (i watch only the games on Seven). Only very few teams are compelling to watch. I took a ticket for one of the Sixers match @ SCG and i couldn’t go due to some reasons, and i was struggling to resell my ticket. No one gives a damn about Big Bash, i should have realized it

I dont know who rated Kane as a good death bowler. The only notable performance in his career so far is the 5 fer ( 5 for 68 from 10 overs) he took against India @ Canberra in a match which India should have won easily. and I am not forgetting the fact that he was a last minute replacement for his namesake Jhye.

After 4 matches, one thing is certain. This current Aussie team doesn’t look like a champion team. Bowling clearly lacks depth after Cummins and Starc. In a tournament where 350 is a defendable total, they cant escape with 300 odd against better teams (England / India). these kinda collapses will be duly punished by teams like England. I felt it was Pakistan’s game to lose when they were sitting comfortably at 136 for 2. Richardson should be dropped for Behrendorff.

1999 WC Semi final – best one day match ever played, no doubt about that. Some might argue that 434-438 was the best match, but cant agree with that thought as stakes were high as it was WC semi final in the former and the other one was the last match of a bilateral series.

it is not impossible in semi final to chase down 280 odd, NZ chased 298 in the 2015 World cup semi final, you may argue that it is a small ground and also against known chokers SA.

Bowling certainly looked rusty, if they bowl this kinda of trash (like Zampa and Stoinis did at times) against teams like India and England, they will be chasing 350+ scores, they miss Jhye Richardson and Hazlewood for sure. I think they should Jason Behrendorff a chance soon.
