Men are born for games. Nothing else. Every child knows that play is nobler than work. He knows too that the worth or merit of a game is not inherent in the game itself but rather in the value of that which is put at hazard. Games of chance require a wager to have meaning at all. Games of sport involve the skill and strength of the opponents and the humiliation of defeat and the pride of victory are in themselves sufficient stake because they inhere in the worth of the principals and define them. But the trial of chance or trial of worth all games aspire to the condition of war for here that which is wagered swallows up game, player, all. What man would not be a dancer if he could? It's a great thing, the dance.

I reckon all divers should be awarded with a trophy. Have them front up on stage and be awarded with a ‘Professional Diver’ award and pretty soon they should become too embarrassed to continue.

Get diving out of the NRL ASAP!

Yes it was a strange play. Surely they could make room for Flash somewhere in the backline? I was thinking in the centres too. Or, perhaps play Barba as the reserve dummy half as a Craig Wing style player?

NRL Round 6: Ride 'em Cowboys

I do because he would feed Queensland penalties like he did when he used to play Origin ;).

State of Origin 2015 early edition: NSW’s hookers

Come on mate, at least the first two were only slightly cringe worthy. Yeah it seems like he’s changed their mental attitude towards these away games. Perhaps that sports psychologist deserves a medal.

Are the Cowboys now road warriors?

Yeah Noddy was a pretty good player, perhaps mister staker is just going off the last year of his career. I guess that team would have to have a few quality players in the mix though. Good to see the old hand Jason Smith get a mention.

My two top Australian rugby league teams since 1948

Modern test team, I’d say from 2006-2014. Those were great years mate.

He did Squidward, but was a tough nut. Despite his stature he could chop a man in half better than any axeman, barring The Axe himself. Taters was a fierce competitor and in his prime possessed lightning speed. Mark Gasnier was quite overrated I think.

I’m sick of hearing about this. Give the thespian his Logie and be done with it. He clearly deserves it.

Glenn Stewart: I took a dive, I wanted to win

Road Warriors, yes I think so. ANZ is no longer a graveyard and their appaling record in the Big Smoke is being turned around. It’s great to see the Cowboys have a few more Monday night games this season as well.

Are the Cowboys now road warriors?

Again, of course Smith will play if he is fit. If not, I’d reckon Ballin will get a callup with either “Chicko” (not Choc, that was Anthony Watmough’s former nickname before it was replaced by Dropmough) or Friend on the bench.

State of Origin 2015 early edition: Queensland’s hookers

I’d personally love to see Michael Ennis “The Mennace”, “The Grub”, “King of the Falcons” etc be selected again. Sure, he isn’t as creative as Farah, but he’s a 10/10 in the niggle department. Such often goes unmentioned but he could throw the seasoned Queensland playmakers off and create some holes in their brains with his incessant droning chatter.

State of Origin 2015 early edition: NSW’s hookers

Yep, that’s how it will go down for game one anyway Roarsome. Injuries permitting of coarse.

State of Origin 2015 early edition: Queensland’s halfbacks

Forget Leonardo Dicaprio, how in hell has Glenn Stewart never won an Oscar?

I took a dive, says Souths' Stewart

Yeah mate even Kostjaysn seems to have had a fire lit under him since Granville took his starting position. He had a good game as well. Yep, it has been a while since the Payne Train was last sighted in a Cowboys jumper hobbling around tackling Broncos players in that final in 2012. What a champion.

Cowboys spank Souths as Thurston stars

To be fair I remember him being pretty solid apart from Inglis putting him on his backside a few times. Plus he missed a tackle on Thurston who went on to set up a length of the field try in Game 3 in 2012.

State of Origin 2015 early edition: NSW’s halfbacks

It’s great to see the Queensland teams firing. The round 10 match between the Broncos and Cowboys is really starting to shape up as one of the great all time clashes. I can’t wait for it.

Five questions from NRL Round 6: on actual footy!

Yep I thought he was a great signing and now he is hitting his straps. Defensively he is very solid and offers much more spark then any hooker the Cowboys have had since Payne retired and Segs left. I’d like to see Cameron King given another chance though.

Cowboys spank Souths as Thurston stars

Yeah he’s been outstanding and has come along in leaps and bounds since his early years. He’s quick, got some sublime passing skills, and his kicking game is improving. He should’ve had a try next to his name as well.

Cowboys spank Souths as Thurston stars

Yeah he looked unstoppable didn’t he? I know what Thurston and Morgan will be thinking in the lead up to this weekend’s clash. In recent weeks Cooper and Lowe have been protecting Thurston quite well though. It’s no surprise that since this has happened Johnno has won MoM in all the games they have won. I agree with you about the Tigers, although they had an experienced 6 in Anasta last year and that didn’t seem to work out for them. A Jason Smith like player would have suited them well. There’s a few veteran playmakers in the Superleague they could snare I’m sure. The Tigers are definitely a team of the future though.

State of Origin 2015 early edition: NSW’s halfbacks

Yes it was fun to discuss the potential lineup of the Queensland team back in the day with mates. The debates would last forever. It’s great to see there are a few options in key positions, who knows. Isreal Folau and Teo may return in the future but it seems like the Queensland selectors don’t reward code jumpers with call-ups. Matt Rogers and Big Dell never seemed to come into contention for the team after they returned from rugby but I guess that was the zenith of this great Queensland side at the time.

State of Origin 2015 early edition: NSW’s halfbacks

Yes young Brooks is an enigma. Plus he is a turnstile. I saw him monstered by Hurrell a few times on the weekend and according to the stats from that match he attempted 10 tackles and missed 6. His partnership with Tedesco reminds me of the Bowen/JT show during the glory days and is great to watch.

State of Origin 2015 early edition: NSW’s halfbacks

That was a brutal game. It rates a one of my favourites just for the gladiatorial aspect and the fact I thought we would wrap up the final two games. Oh well. It was a great run and 9/10 doesn’t sound like a bad prospect.

State of Origin 2015 early edition: NSW’s halfbacks

Hannant is 30. A bit older then Matt Scott so I can’t see him playing longer then Thumper. I’d still have DCE as the starting pivot, but Milford has plenty of time to convince me he’s ready for the next step. We’ve still got Barba and Sandow as options. I don’t know if Dave Taylor will ever come back. Perhaps if he become more consistent. I reckon Granville might be a dark horse, and watch out for some of the Cowboys forwards in the future. Coen Hess, Gavin Cooper, Sam Hoare, maybe even Ethan Lowe.

State of Origin 2015 early edition: NSW’s halfbacks

I’ve got Pearce in my team as well. The best turnstile NSW have to offer, aside from Soward of course.
