Poor form by NZ. Cannot wait for the day the rest of the rugby world tells NZ to get stuffed. Organise competions without them. Leave them on the outer for a decade. Let them play each other. Perhaps then they’ll improve their attitude.

“Specifically and fully articulating the problems” cannot be done briefly in a letter, soapit, that would be naive to expect. An in-depth audit of all facets of the organisation is required, using external investigators. The “I love myself” review that RA performs on itself is not what is needed.

Daniel, seriously, if you think that RA is in a good shape, and can be rescued under the current management and Board, you might consider stepping aside as the editor of Roar. Or do they pay you to be their apologist?
RA appears to be out on its feet, and here you are being critical of 11 greats that are seriously worried? Good on them for speaking up.
And, even if Fox’s resources is part of the play, then good! No other party will step in to help rescue the sport we love, least of all the strange little man from Mascot. His wings are clipped.

Interesting choices. Obviously written by a fellow Saffer. Notable that no Wallabies are included. I’ll be crucified for this, but John Eales (in stead of Frik du Preez) is a must in my best 15. As lock, AND as captain. And Tim Horan would make my selection as well.

Aus Rugby MIGHT improve, but a total new administration is needed. Castle will soon be gone, hopefully replaced by an inspirational leader with a rugby pedigree. Consider for a moment what Erasmus accomplished in South Africa in 18 months with a bunch of no-hopers who failed against Japan, Italy, and Scotland. He restored PRIDE in the jumper, the team, the Springbok brand. Can you see Castle do that? Or the Kiwi coach and coaching team she’s now assembled, all from the same sports agency? For heaven’s sake if there’s no former Wallaby good enough to coach the national team, at least get a blue blood Wallaby to head up the joint. Erasmus is a former Springbok captain. A brilliant flanker in his day. He commands respect. How many times did Rennie don the Wallaby Gold? Forget it RA, wrong call, wrong coach. Once Castle is gone, what will it cost to pay out Rennie?

Seldom have I paid less attention to what a commentator says than in the case of Greg Marten. Hopefully Foxtel will get rid of him (and Drew Mitchell) soon. I doubt there are two more bitter and venomous rugby commentators in the world. Greg, so what you say is that the the whole season, including the World Cup, the Wallabies were constantly thinking of Israel, and that’s the reason for their below-par season…
Please don’t insult the Wallabies, Greg, they are professionals. If ever RA should cut anyone loose, its Raelene Castle. I doubt though if she’ll still be around by the time Super Rugby starts.
Finally, what would be the odds that Israel will again play rugby union in Australia under a new administration ?
