I'm the hero The Roar deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

Kind of true. Been to San Sebastian and watched Sociedad. Unless its a big game they’d be lucky to half fill their stadium.

Music during play at A-League games is the FFA's worst idea yet

Funny how WSW drew big crowds when the fans were allowed to express their passion before it was clamped down on by the FFA, police, stadium security, News Limited et al.

Similar scenario with Victory.

The comment generally becomes grammatically correct after a couple minutes Griffo. I think it does so after a quick review process by the mods? Who know’s.

You only revolt by not buying a ticket and going to the game.

I started mid-way through last year and will continue to do so. It hurts me to do so but I am not supporting the suits running the game.

Imbeciles. Only word that explains those bozo’s running the FFA/A-league.

“Fans wanted more pre-game entertainment, more in-game entertainment and more at half-time” – Which fan’s did they ask?

“Buzz, to his immense credit, has very thick skin. He’s fully aware that some of the things he says and writes won’t be popular, and is prepared to cop the consequences. Whether you agree or disagree with Buzz and his individual opinions, that boldness and conviction should be applauded.

It’s brave to express a view when you’re completely cognisant of the fact you’re going to be criticised for it.”

No, no he doesnt. When he is called out for his false facts, and those he criticises unfairly are willing to discuss things with him to set the record straight, he hides and let’s the hysteria blow over before he wrongly accuses someone else sometime later and resets the cycle. He is a coward.

Anyway what’s the use. It’s not just Buzz, a plethora of journalist’s these day’s use the Buzz methodology of ‘journalism’. Look at Paul Kent et al. And then they complain when people in Rugby League stay silent and wont give them the information they crave to big themselves up. Should Buzz disappear, we will see some other criticizing, false facts stating merchant take his place because the fake controversy and hatred for the journalist sells.

No one trusts the agenda driven media anymore, and for good reason.

2018: The year rugby league turned on Buzz Rothfield

A lot of hype for Perth this season, however on paper they seem to have quite possibly the weakest midfield in the league. Kilkenny is well past it. That midfield could be their Achilles heel. Will also be interesting to see how Spiranovic goes after years of not giving a crap in China.

Every A-League team's 2018-19 one-word mission: Part two

Was on the path of greatness when he started, only to plateau as a batsmen during his captaincy to finish as a good player after the form (or lack of) during his final years of his career.

Never recovered to his lofty standards from the Ashes whitewash where Johnson and Harris tore England apart.

Alastair Cook: Good or great?

I’d keep him as a utility/impact player. However as a starting half? Definitely not.

Where to now for the Brisbane Broncos?

“It makes you wonder what everyone’s attention has been on?”

Gallop’s new bonus.

Getting politicians onside is all just part of the game

Disagree on Ryan, lost count of how many times he lost the ball or picked the wrong player to pass to as that player already had pressure on before they received the ball. It’s funny though as I remember when he first came onto the scene he had great confidence with the ball at his feet.

From Rio to Russia: Did the Socceroos surge, stagnate or slide backwards in the last four years?

“He failed to realise that coaching a NT is working with what you have not imposing it”

100%.

A great coach makes the best out of what they have. Playing that 3-4-3 formation with the players we had was frustrating. Insisting on playing out from the back with the players we had was even more so. Everytime Ryan got the ball you could tell he was uncomfortable trying to spread the ball instead of kicking it up field. Everytime Jedinak, Degenek, Wright, Smith et al. got the ball, they looked uncomfortable trying to play it forward.

He did so well playing a counter attacking 4-3-3 in the World Cup 2014 and Asian cup because it played to the strengths of our players i.e soaking up pressure and countering with pace on the flanks with guy’s like Leckie running at scrambling defences, or using a set piece to find Timmy’s head.

He deserves something, that’s for sure. That forehead has done more for this country than anyone ever has!

Does Tim Cahill deserve a farewell Socceroos friendly?

Over all of the politics. Just going to enjoy watching some Football.

Our next iteration of football needs to be much more inclusive

I’m all for giving people second chances when they show that they have own their mistake, are remorseful and are genuinely looking to better themselves.

Paying zero compensation, and only coming to an agreement after public outrage doesn’t tick any of the above boxes. He should not be able to play the game.

After Women in League Round, we need to talk about Matt Lodge. Again

With all due respect, the “he was drunk” excuse doesn’t wash with me. If you can’t stop yourself from assaulting people when you’re drunk, then maybe handle your drink?

After Women in League Round, we need to talk about Matt Lodge. Again

Should never have been allowed to play again. We’re not talking about a minor crime here or a stupid mistake. We have all seen the video and what he did was serious and he deserves to be behind bars.

Until the NRL stops giving people like Lodge a second, third, fourth chance, the stigma of NRL players being brainless criminals remains.

Think about it – every year when we go through an off season without any players and their indiscretions, everyone is surprised and rejoices. Why tolerate this crap?

“I wonder if Bolt actually could be capped by Jamaica?

If he does well at CCM then Arnold might just have to cap him first so that we don’t lose him.”

I’ve lost all faith in the A-league and Australian football.

Arnold gives little away in first words as Socceroos manager

Ah yes, let’s forget that NSW clearly went in with a game plan of letting Maloney do all the work while Cleary played a supporting role…

Let’s also forget the try assist Clearly made but it was ruled out because Klemmer had to trip someone…

Queensland Maroons player ratings: State of Origin Game 3

Ahhh Robbie fu@$ing Kruse. The amount of times I was yelling at the TV because of how useless he is.

Arzani needs to start the next game with Cahill. Those crosses he puts in are a defenders nightmare, imagine Cahill waiting in the box with those whipped in crosses

Did Bert van Marwijk's tactics cost the Socceroos a win against Denmark?

Baffled me. Tired Dane defence giving Rogic time and space, and we subbed him off.

Did Bert van Marwijk's tactics cost the Socceroos a win against Denmark?

At the end of the day, the club caved so it’s their problem. A stronger response to being held to ransom would have ensured this saga never unfolded.

Only surprise about the Watmough thing is Watmough told the world

And tell the boy’s to run at them with pace.

Park the bus? The Socceroos should try to beat France instead

With Robbie Kruse running off-side all day and misplacing every cross (his first cross of the game seems to always go out for a goal kick) or pass, I’d say every team is terrified of us.

We are a good team that hasn’t reached our potential, but it has more to do with the weak links in the chain that seem to always start regardless of their poor performances.

What does the footballing world see when they look at the Socceroos?

The nostalgia this post has brought me is incredible. I unashamedly booed. My father – an Iranian immigrant who is as gentle and quiet as they come – booed too. It was just that kind of night where we all wanted to do everything we could to get the boys to the World Cup. Will never experience anything like that in our lifetime again.
