Pfft! I’m not sure that he’s silenced the critics by batting normally and scoring a ton. Is this an English journal? 😂

Root silences Bazball critics while returning to form with ton as England keep comeback series win hopes alive

And… the SA vs WA rivalry continues. This result just adds more fuel on the fire for Peter and Basil. 😂

Haha! Do you hate them more than Collingwood? #GoPies! 😛

Mitchell to miss start of Hawks' pre-season due to serious illness, to have 'phased return' to club

Who fills in as head coach, while Mitchell recovers?

I don’t think swapping with Perth will help. There was heavy rain and flooding throughout NSW from Dec 14 to 17.

Australia announce Third Test squad: Warner to have familiar faces by his side for SCG farewell

I know it was during the ODI world Cup – I didn’t say the test team. I still don’t think he should’ve been dropped mid-series, but it may have been necessary for his own mental health.

Worth keeping around: No way Carey’s spot should be in jeopardy despite recent lack of runs

Carey is a great ‘keeper and shouldn’t have been dropped from the team after the Ashes tour, unless they did it specifically for his own benefit. To give him a chance to refresh and reset after the appalling behaviour by the English. I’m glad to see he ended up with 50+ runs on day 3.

Hmmm… I’m not privvy to the details around why Johnson dislikes Warner so much, but it seems to me that he’s guilty of being just as unprofessional as he accuses Bailey of being. It sounds like Johnson is letting his bias influence his better judgement – and really, he just sounds bitter.

'Bunnings would sell out of sandpaper': Bailey reacts after Johnson delivers brutal sledge over 'arrogant' Warner's farewell

The best team is the one who can beat any opponent in any conditions. All this talk about creating a pitch to favour one team is ridiculous because the coin toss is always 50/50 – or did they try to rig that as well?

'India still best 50 overs team in the world': Former star blames 'sandpaper pitch' and toss of the coin for World Cup loss

I just watched a replay of Maxi’s innings and it was incredible! 👍
Sure, he had a bit of luck with two dropped catches early on, but honestly… for him to continue whacking boundaries when he was cramping up so badly… that’s very impressive. Well done Maxi! My 11yo boy thinks you’re “Friggen Ah-Mazing!” 😛

Glenn the Greatest - ever! Maxwell's magnificent double-ton rescues Aussies, stuns Afghanistan in WC epic

I think David Warner is pretty much the same person today, as he was when he debuted for Australia. And he will never apologise for being who he is or what he says. It’s a simply that not all great sportsmen are “great people” off the field.

Missed opportunity: Graciousness could've taken Warner to another level but he went the other way

Bloody hell! I think Maxi needs to stay in bed whenever he isn’t at training or playing cricket.

Maxwell out of Aussies' crunch World Cup showdown with Poms after suffering concussion in bizarre incident

During The Ashes, I mentioned a few times that the English didn’t really give a sh1t about Jonny’s wicket – they just took advantage of the situation to pile on the Aussies and get under their skin.

Why is England's 'Bazball' war cry missing from their disastrous World Cup campaign?

I hope these recommendations are not real. I am so sick of listening to the English spouting off about unfair dismissals, when every man and his dog knows that they have done the exact same thing and worse. Just shut up and play ffs. 😡

The Bairstow rules: Dusty old Laws of Cricket get rewritten so everyone plays in the right ‘Spirit’ according to Jonny

I agree that the umpires on-field already have too much going on, to then pick up out the 123 after each game. I think there should be an umpire sitting in the stands watching the whole game – maybe the guy who checks goals?- who then decides on the Brownlow votes. After each game they can head down to the umpires’ rooms to pass on their picks. If any of the on-field umps have an issue with the selection, they can work it out together.

COMMENT: Lachie Neale's baffling win proves it's time to take Brownlow voting off the umps

I think that Gustavsson has been using Kerr’s calf injury brilliantly. He’s created anxiety and uncertainty for every opponent we’ve faced. Maybe she’s fit, or maybe she isn’t? Maybe she’ll start, or maybe she won’t? And now everyone can see just how good the rest of squad are. Afterall, they wouldn’t be playing in England and Europe if they were mugs would they? Well played Tony, and well done Matildas. ????????⚽

Be smart, Gustavsson - there is simply no need to start Sam Kerr tonight

Honestly, I think…
1) It isn’t cheating to appeal and then have the umpires decide if a batsman is/isn’t out.
2) There’s been plenty of instances of cheating in the history of cricket, by the players of every country and every generation.
3) The talk about “spirit of cricket” is bullsh!t fluff that gets trotted out whenever a player is un/lucky to be given not/out.
4) There is always some drama in an Ashes series – either real or created.

Flem’s Verdict: Cummins shows true class on and off the field as England contradict their words with actions

I love Patty Cummins! He has stayed calm and stick by his team’s match strategies, while others around him completely lose their sh!t. He stated that Starc’s non-catch and Bairstow’s stumping were both technically correct decisions. Then, when an English journo asked him if he would consider underarm bowling in the next test, he joked that it depends on what the pitch will be like. #GoAussies! ????????

Flem’s Verdict: Cummins shows true class on and off the field as England contradict their words with actions

All of the comments from current and former English cricketers about Australia lacking “sportsmanship” and “spirit of the game” is complete bollocks.
There are numerous examples from all over the world of cricketers being ruthlessly competitive in test and short format cricket matches. And a quick Google search will bring up several examples of match fixing and outright cheating. You will even find examples of the English committing such acts – shock horror!
All of this moaning and groaning is simply a tactic to get the English tabloids and supporters to pile on the Aussies for the rest of the series.
Obviously their Bazball strategy isn’t working and they are getting desperate. The Aussies should forget about the “Whinging Poms” and just keep playing their brand of cricket – and keep winning!

UK View: 'He didn't look like a leader. He looked pathetic' - Cummins caned but Poms also skewer 'dozy' Bairstow

Lyon out for the series is hardly big news. Anybody who watches sport knows that a torn calf muscle needs weeks or even months of rehab. ☹️
Best of luck Gaz.

Aussies make tough call on Lyon's Ashes campaign as opening batter drops out of squad

Listening to the English commentators losing their sh!t is more fun than watching Carlton implode. ???? This Bazball cricket is fantastic! ????

Bazball, or Brainlessball? England implode in 15 overs of 'pure stupidity' to gift Aussies golden chance at 2-0 lead

I am not surprised that the AFL’s investigation has gone nowhere. It has been a complete sham from the moment the report was leaked to the media.
Hopefully the original complainants can find the justice and ‘closure’ they desire in a more appropriate forum.
