Percy at the back for me. At one point he was the most influential back in super rugby. And his hair was always amazing.

Probably 3-4 players in that team that would push for best ever to have played in those positions.

All the same issues that ethnic players have had to endure in a lot of sports around the world.
Aboriginals still endure racial prejudice in sports in Australia, and it still gets a lot of media beat up, and so it should.
Having the issues front and centre is what changes perceptions.
Some brave soul is going to have to weather that storm for the greater good, I just hope they come out the other end alright.

Nice team Digger, unlike quite a few of the others I agree wholeheartedly with Gordon Slater over Tialata.
He was a much more talented scrumager, which is something the Hurricanes have suffered with through the years.
Plus Tialata tended to add open play penalties to his quite often scrum penalties.
Barrett and Weepu for mine in halves pairing.
And i’d also take Scooter Waldrom at 7 over Vanisi or Masoe.
With so many gamebreakers across the park sometimes what we really needed was the hard workers, and thats where we went missing. Thats why Tito was such an under rated loss for us.
Cool team anyways, looking forward to some of the other teams.

Its all a delicate balancing act, and Hansen appears to have a plan which is great.
He hasn’t told us what his plan is for the older players but it would be naive to think he hasn’t thought long and hard about the shelf life of our older players.
Whether his timing turns out perfectly or is a horrible mess we wont know until after 2015. The signs are positive though.

Man were the Roos good. I don’t even think NZ were that bad, Australia were just suffocating.

If any other team scored tries from kicks made by wingers and centres for halves to collect you’d say there was luck involved, but not even a shred of those tries seemed lucky.
They’re just on another level and deserve that mantle back. It was good while it lasted though! And I wrung every bit of value out of that world champions tag 😉
On a side note Kearney has to go, he doesn’t even look well, he looks underfed and stressed.
It’s just too much for him, If the Kiwis are to succeed we need a coach who can give the structural balance to go with the Polynesian flair (though we were made to look boring on Sat night)

McCaw would never run in after a try and push someone’s head and give them a spray. He’s too classy for that. Other All Blacks might in the heat of the moment, but not our captain.

He could have handled the situation better, in a way more befitting a captain (either by not engaging in such forceful words, or by being a bit more subtle about how he applied those words) yet he cannot be seen to back down or not speak up.
Of the 3 options available to him he chose the 2nd best option.
