With only one match to go before the end of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup, I have taken the time to compile a combined team.

The side consists solely of New Zealand and Australian players, so some of the best of the Brits miss out.

While the Kiwis have been great so far in the Cup, only five make my team.

If you select the best 17 team from an available list of 34, that’s only 14.7 percent of the total.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is the only back to make the top 7, while Sonny Bill Williams, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Frank Pritchard are the only starting forwards.

Ben Matulino and Isaac Luke are the only Kiwis on the bench.

Importantly no New Zealander was able to make any of the crucial four spine starting positions.

To be honest, I considered playing Greg Inglis at fullback and bring in Michael Jennings at left centre, but we don’t live in a perfect world and it is hard not to have Billy in the best 17.

If we also included England, then Sam Burgess would come in for either Paul Gallen or Frank Pritchard and Sam Tomkins would be my fullback with George Burgess replacing Matt Scott, giving the Lions three reps in a combined ‘best of’ side.

1. Billy Slater (Aus)
2. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (NZ)
3. Greg Inglis (Aus)
4. Jarryd Hayne (Aus)
5. Brett Morris (Aus)
6. Johnathan Thurston (Aus)
7. Dally Cherry-Evans (Aus)
8. Andrew Fifita (Aus)
9. Cameron Smith (Aus)
10. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (NZ)
11. Sonny Bill Williams (NZ)
12. Frank Pritchard (NZ)
13. Paul Gallen (Aus)

Interchange
14. Isaac Luke (NZ)
15. Ben Matulino (NZ)
16. Matt Scott (Aus)
17. Corey Parker (Aus)

You have to agree, it is a hot team.

Roarers, have I missed anyone? Who would you pick?
