I think you’re right about people being quiet about it. That goes for the players and current set up. Looking from afar, the group there is as much been part of the abused journey as the coach, and now they are in a position of getting it done. What a galvanized group out to do it for each other, coach, country, themselves. They look very resolute to me, and will give a good account of themselves. All through this tournament they have talked about skill sets. I reckon they are going to move that ball something special, as long as they get front foot ball. Who wins, I don’t have a clue. But it is going to be brilliant.

Waiting for the All Blacks to crumble: Final yardstick of NZ fans' treatment of Ian Foster

It will be an epic game with many points. Although remember 2011 final. The blacked out Eden Park and the last 20 minutes. I thought I was going to throw up at any moment. I was expecting more points. Then the thrill of 2015. Yellow card, and long range drop goal. 2019 and Vermullien played like a lion. I will go through many emotions watching on Saturday. I’m sure there will be some great moments to cheer for. Great teams, the best ref we could hope for. No sour grapes. Just all left out there on the field. I hope rugby is the winner at the end of it.

RWC News: 'Take some gas out of that bomb' - ABs' response to Bok weapon who's 'some human', twist in Bongi slur saga

Awesome read. I have been explaining rugby to US friends who have gotten interested in this WC because of excellent coverage being offered. The replayed the Irish SA game the following Morning, before the regular gridiron came on. I had people call me up or text me, about this rugby. It was well received and some have followed the business end of the tournament, with great interest. I end up giving a history lesson on rugby but also try to explain this is not the same game I played in the 70’s through 90’s era. We could only replace two players for injuries back then and the coach had next to zero input during the half. It was the captain and vice captain who did the talking. Water then had magic qualities for any list of injuries. In any event. We will see what happens Saturday. The rules are what they are for now but there is some excellent points made here. The Boks have a complete team in my opinion in every position. A magnificent blend of youth and experience who have been working purposefully, unapologetically and lawfully(within the rules) toward this end. NZ have pulled finger and found something that has brought this group, when there was not much belief to this opportunity. It will be epic. I just wish NZ had a catchy song they could sing.

Rugby’s descent into cynical play: Why neutral fans should back the All Blacks for the good of the game

I agree. I’ve supported AB my whole life and even though I was kind of supporting France to beat SA, I thought that France inability to win or protect the high ball at crucial times let them down. Then vs England with their tails up, I thought it with two score game was going to be tough for SA. But they ground it out, scored and scored again. As pretty or ugly as you like, I’m glad it’s SA we face. There is no easy road to the final. Both teams appear to have an awesome servant culture to each other and country. A steely resolve to leave it all out there next Saturday. All I can do is watch it unfold.

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

It’s really hard to get to a final, let alone win the World Cup. That both these squads are healthy going into the final is amazing. I can’t wait.

Hopefully AAC would be on neither, but my concern (suspicion) is Cheka would want him in greater WC squad. Without knowing either Cheika or AAC I thought Chieka took AAC to Japan and Europe to quell any team rebellion.

Cheika survives the axe as Rugby AU bring in Scott Johnson as director of rugby

Would love to sit in on first selection meeting. When would the first one be? There must be a greater World Cup year preparation squad that gets notice early in new year. Would AAC be on it?

Nice article. I have been watching all year and hoping that the ship could get righted. Can’t believe Cheika doesn’t look in the mirror and do the right thing. I believe oz has tons of talent, and the bringing back of AAC was my last straw. I flew on a whim to final in 2015 to erase demons suffered in 1991. Worst thing to ever happen was Cheika getting coach of year in 2015, (although I greatly respect that they made it to final), but I saw the rot coming when he took his extension of contract about a month before England whitewash tour. Blaming fitness, going on trips to look at Norte dame, etc. the guy is a motivator. Not a coach at this level. Can’t believe RA.

Will Cheika really let Larkham take the fall?

I thought Conrad Smith went to Upper Hutt?

Rugby in New Zealand is at risk of becoming an elite game

Yes, Canada beat nz either in try’s or the second half in Lille in 1991. I don’t remember the score but remover it being a competitive match. I know it’s a long time ago but wanted to give a shout out to Canada.
