That response is bang-on my expectations from the Roar cesspit.

Disagree? No worries, Roar-trollers just attempt to ridicule and insult.

Honestly, how dare I think that Australia has the talent to actually represent our rugby community.

Exclusive: Wallabies to turn to Kiwi Schmidt as Eddie Jones' replacement

He is a mediocre candidate and will deliver nothing more than the Australian candidates would.

It’s a pathetically weak decision.

I’m furious.

What an absolutely gutless disgrace.

The head of performance waits 2 weeks and then appooints his best mate – utterly appalling.

6 years ago we were told how lucky we were to have a kiwi rookie coach our national team – because there was no depth in Australian coaching, but that would be the TOP priority to address so it would never be an issue again.

33 percent was the result.

Yet it is clear they once again haven’t even considered excellent Aussie candidates.

This bloke could not give a flying fruitcake about Aussie rugby. He’s here for the hope of fame and fortune. And if he doesn’t get it he’ll be on to the next gig while the game here is destroyed.

This all sounds very familiar…,should we do a plagiarism check. Same speech every 4 years.

Odds are that if RA keeps hiring million-dollar kiwis, eventually one of them will get above average results…

But it won’t change the irony of hiring from the outside as they once again commit to building from the ground up…

RA's new HP director 'totally open' to foreign coach as RA sets timeline, CEO reacts to player dismay over Eddie

The internet troll-verse is a funny place.

The Roar trolls can’t stop demanding a ‘proper and thorough process’ for choosing the next coach.

Along comes Cheika – who’s CV is objectively among the best in the world + is an Australian, but he is instantly rejected by a whole swathe of Roar-trollers. Thorough process indeed.

Ultimately I recon Cheika just isn’t private-school enough for the roar.

'Everyone's in the hunt': RA won't rule out stunning Wallabies return after Cheika departs Argentina role

It’s all Hamish’s fault!

If he had’ve just let the game go bankrupt like Raylene planned – we wouldn’t be in this mess!

Super Rugby clubs want a handout? That's a disgrace, the game is already broke

Downgrading himself from Pate to Terrine.

The bloke never made a mistake in his life, from toxic Deans to the Reds, to toulon and back to Jones, it’s always been someone else’s fault.

'It was remarkable RA couldn't see it': Quade slams Eddie chaos, praises 'phenomenal' McKellar

I really, really hope they have a good season – semis contenders from day 1…

Anything less is going to see very serious trouble financially.

Good luck Darren.

Pressure Points: Now or never for Coleman at Waratahs after 'forgetting about the rugby', key signings give hope

You’re missing the point of course.

It’s that neither deans nor Rennie were ‘special’. They were just ‘fine’.

While both Jones and Cheika have taken Australian teams to world cup finals.

RA set to sign World Rugby's HP director - and he could help land Joe Schmidt as Wallabies coach

You mean ‘How dare anyone interrupt the roar group think! The Roar have decided that kiwis are infallible. So it nut be so!’

RA set to sign World Rugby's HP director - and he could help land Joe Schmidt as Wallabies coach

What an absurd comment. The only things those two have in common is they are Kiwis.

RA set to sign World Rugby's HP director - and he could help land Joe Schmidt as Wallabies coach

Wow.

Take a golden decade amd paint it black.

They cannot seriously be considering yet another (mediocre) Kiwi?!

They bang on and on and on about connection, and growth from the bottom up, and pathways and blah blah blah….

…and then they just appoint the next kiwi.

Just determined to make the wallabies absolutely meaningless.

RA set to sign World Rugby's HP director - and he could help land Joe Schmidt as Wallabies coach

Good luck Eddie.

I hope it goes well for you and Japan.

That is a nation of great potential and ambition – but they have a challenging time ahead.

You seem like a good fit for the role.

Eddie Jones set to be appointed Japan coach six weeks after walking out on Wallabies

Just a minor adjustment though – it’s the ACT’S debt that will be paid with NSW balance sheet.

Done deal: Wallabies star signs with NRL powerhouse in brutal reality check for RA at start of 'golden decade'

What cracks me up is knowing just how apocalyptic you lot would be if this happened while Hamish was still around – but he’s not, he’s been destroyed, so it’s all good.

Really highlights the main issue rugby has in Australia – it’s developed into a culture of backstabbing, whining, batches who define favour based on geography. Not very appealing.

Well he’s now starting to invest in in Sydney NRL – so not really a big stretch is it.

Regardless – Herbert is unable to raise any funds clearly.

I appreciate the summary – nicely put, thanks.

The fact remains that Herbert came in on the basis that retention of players was the focus. 3 weeks later, he is unable to raise funds to retain probably our brightest rising star.

I think it’s important to remember bad decisions.

Agree good luck to him.

But it’s a huge loss to RA.

BUT totally Herberts problem to fix. And he hasn’t.

What is the axe ref?

Well, Harvey & Twiggy would have paid for it a start.

Actually it’s fail no 2 – losing major sponsor Hervey Norman was fail no 1.

So….absolutely no progress at all since the idiocy of appointing a Rookie foreign coach 4 years ago.

'Open minded': Waugh backs foreign Wallabies coach - but with one non-negotiable

It looks like Fail no 1 for Herbert.

Don, Don, Don,
That’s not what unanimous means.
Phil Waugh is not a director.
This is not going well.

Humility cuts both ways: Brett Clark and the QRU deserve the same scrutiny as Hamish McLennan

Waugh is an executive, not a director – and a contraversial appointment because of his nsw affiliations – totally different to the directors obligations and function.

Herbert as a director has obligations (ASIC defined) to disclose and to treat all members equally. Among many other obligations.

If it is proven that he colluded with a select group of members to the disadvantage of other members – then he may have a serious problem. If it is then proven that he did not disclose agreements that were made – then he could be in real trouble.

Given the facts in front of us and the trail of messages we’ve seen – there is a very real possibility that Herbert has made some kind of arrangement. And that would be a mistake on many levels.

To be clear, I am very angry about what has taken place – but I hope to God that this does not play out as I’ve described, as there would be personal implications.

What is more likely(but still unfortunate) is that sponsors and indeed supporters will just walk away.

Harvey Norman can smell it, Pip Marlow can smell it, Cadbury and twiggy are sniffing the air and so are the rest of us.

On top of that we have a group of footy players about to negotiate a new TV deal whose closest role to the media is that they can operate a remote control.
