Both teams are apparently very reasonable/fair players at the trade table.
I too reckon Brisbane will be the slightest of winners come trade day, purely because of dunkley being uncontracted, but more importantly brisbane not having the capital to pay what he’s worth.
When a player requests a trade very rarely does it not work out (unless your bombers).
Teams hardly ever play hardball to the point a player goes to preseason or sits out for a year

Agree with the first 3. The latter agree to disagree. No fuss player. Rarely gets beaten 1v1. Always takes the best small fwd or mid/fwd. Blokes a star. Just because he doesn’t rack up 30+ possies down back like your dochertys and co.
In my biased opinion, I think he was stiff to miss the all aus team this year

Don’t get me wrong as it stands he’s probably a better player than all of those players bar starcevich (arguably the best small lockeown defender in the comp). But you want 2x stars for a player that’s uncontracted?
Dunkley could sign a 1 year extension to take him to free agency and dogs lose even more bargaining power. Or he could walk (won’t get to brisbane) only sign a 1 year deal with whoever then try again for Brisbane.
I think a future 1st and future 2nd is what it will end up being (if brisbane don’t have enough points for the draft bulldogs won’t accept cause the picks will slide).
Alot to play out, if Bowes happened to chose Brisbane and GC gave pick 7 also that would be the starting point for dunkley

Brisbane simply got outplayed by a better team in Geelong.
I think Fagan needs to just tweak the gamestyle to implement a bit more defence. Add in some fresh guns through the upcoming draft and brisbane will be right in the thick of things next year. I don’t want to put too much pressure on ashcroft, but if he doesn’t have a brownlow, normsmith, coleman, mvp, all aus captaincy by the end of 2023, put him on the chopping block its an outrage

You should be writing player reviews. Deadset nailed Buckley. Nothing makes me happier than knowing he left Brisbane in the 90s to go win premierships.

I love how the Richmond supporters are blaming the free kick differential when they haven’t won a free kick count in the last decade. Tigers play dirty (not a knock on their style, It’s just how the play, like grubs). I enjoy how they go about it, but you can never complain about losing free kick count when the players walk a fine line every game
