The weekend of footy is done when the Rabbitohs game ends

Excellent in the first two matches? Did you watch either of the first two games? Scoring a try in each doesn’t qualify your performance as excellent…. i’ve seen goalposts move more that LM in defence …. how about that lolly he threw Manly 1 minute before halftime in Vegas. Excellent you reckon?

Latrell's not walking the walk after talking the talk: Souths should be worried after star goes missing against Roosters

He won’t play centre. I’m sure the coach and the club have been told his position is #1 else there will be a problem (well, not bigger than the current problem). He’s holding down a workhorse position but the guys keeps proving week after week he doesn’t want to work.
Can Latrell cope with 10 metres up 10 metres back five times per set then chase a kick on the sixth? You’re dreaming. Each defensive set is close to 100 metres of running by the outside backs. Whoever thinks LM will do that or can do that has rocks in their head. Latrell doesn’t record 400 metres in a match.
He’s chosen fullback because for a lazy guy, that’s where you can hide until the replay shows your zero defensive effort (a professional club wouldn’t tolerate that sort of garbage. At Souths, he’s in charge and you wont see him in 3 or 4 unless a centre gets injured).
Otherwise, just keep an eye on him when Souths concede a try – he shows up 3 seconds after the scene of the crime – every single time. Zero positional awareness in defence. Zero defensive effort. Zero defensive learnings in the last three years. Who except the Dragons or Tigers or Dogs would accept this year-after-year?

My comments from The Roar 2021 “If you watch south games religiously, as I do, lattrell is never in position in defence and never hungry for the important defensive plays. No urgency in defence…. ever. He was terrible vs panthers. Mansoor a couple times looked across at Mitchell wondering when the fullback was gonna take responsibility for kick catch and diffusal for a kick that was in the fullbacks catch zone. So it was easy for the panthers on Friday – kick at mansoor and or Mitchell or in between them and you’ve got a ready made error one way or the other. Once or twice a match ‘trell will amble into the oncoming defence after taking a kick. Otherwise he’ll pass to a centre or winger to hit up. OR Maybe that’s the game plan – there’s probably no point asking him to do more, he just seems not to want to do more. Except in games versus bottom 8 where even I would look good zipping into that left backline for a momentary touch of the ball.”

'We're carrying the burden of last season': What sports psychology can teach Souths about making mistakes

Tremendous read, well written !

It's always Rabbitohs hunting season: Why animosity for 'Bumbling Bunnies' is an eternal selling point

They say that where there’s smoke, there’s fire so is rumours are the smoke in the cliche, we will soon be worrying about the “transparent” 2032 bid from Saudi Arabia (alongside Egypt and Greece)

I have never felt more conflicted about watching a World Cup

Seibold set fire to the Broncos???? You are joking, right? Broncos signed him to a 5yr deal after Seibold had ONE (yes, ONE) good season as a rookie coach for the Rabbitohs (any coach should take the rabbits to the prelim finals)!!!! Broncos set fire to themselves and police should have been called because that’s ARSON!

The Broncos blew themselves up… remember, the Broncos had Bennett and he wanted to stay at the Broncos but the Broncos (desperate for results) signed near-rookie Seibold as a 5 year head coach (who liked his own press, how good he was first year in) and of course….. Seibold turns out NOT to be head coach material… what Seibold is good at is Harvard-speak, management speak …. so i can tell you right now what has happened at manly …. Penn likes how Seibold speaks (like an academic) and so Penn has chosen to punt on Seibold as the Manly saviour……. i can tell you the end game….. Manly, bottom 6, with the Trbos including the youngest wanting and getting out.

‘Icon’ Hasler damned with faint praise as Manly axe him 'in best interests of club' to put Seibold in charge

It was packaged nicely in 50 minutes of lowlights.

Latrell Mitchell: Great footballer, ordinary fullback?

He’s on contract until whenever. Weak teams pay overs and fear ‘missing out’.
We’ve seen what he’s got at fullback (not much at all but is a great centre) so when it’s time for a contract renewal, take the risk of losing him to someone that will pay him overs for ‘unders’ ability at fullback.

Output and his input suggest otherwise.

Disagree re Tedesco and Pap is a mere fraction of his pre injury form (at this stage of his return). Turbo catch and charge any of them bombs because he wants to do the work.

Ladder predictors are helpful late in the season. Was running mine today and the top 3 sides finish at 40+ points (the rabbits in 3rd finishing with 42 points). Has it ever happened that 3 or 4 sides finish with more 40+ competition points in the NRL era?

Further, getting a top 8 side historically required 30 (and on occasion 28 or 26 points). Twenty four or twenty-two might be enough this time. Sheesh!! Has that ever happened in the NRL era?

I don’t like either scenario. As such, the NRL is no longer the toughest competition in the world.
