A prop playing in the centres.

Hi Kieron, happy to do so: Giving another person an insulting nickname drawn from a cartoon TV series, and then proliferating that so that the very act of writing their name in a comment is an act of insulting them (rather than critiquing/commenting on their play) is essentially what 8 y.o.’s do in the schoolyard. It’s childish.

Fark, that seems incredibly childish.

Eg: it says in the article that Hunt is not playing as he is injured.

Probably should of thought this through a little more ai Jacky?

Agreed, you could fairly say that it’s disrespectful to our opponents that we anticipate they can’t do anything to even scratch the sides in a contest against us.

Consistently inconsistent Wallabies won’t fill empty seats

Hey mate, you’ve obviously missed the news-David is on holiday this year.

Fionn/Peterk

Some fair points, i think Phipps is a better role player in the way the Wallabies are playing than White, and to be quite honest i never reeeealllly rated White that highly. Phipps, however, is great as a tempo changer, don’t think he should start. Also i contend that Cheika did give White an opportunity, but i can see what you mean.

Sort of forgot about the Fardy thing last year, he deserved to be dropped from memory, but maybe didn’t deserve to not come back.

Regardless he’s going to be 35 at the next world. With guys like him and Holmes, you can’t really fault Cheika for not bringing in some young players and exposing them at this level. What’s letting them/us down is in my opinion less Cheika, and more the development pathways that were put into place 10, 20 years ago-that’s where i think we lose to NZ.

My initial point was more that the wholesale criticism of Cheika as the harbinger of death within Australia rugby is not based in evidence, and not productive, and not useful.

Second to that, who can blame some of these young guys for taking an opportunity to play in a different Comp, experience a different culture, and make a truckload more money?

The Wrap: The Wallabies secure victory in Canberra, but fail to win hearts

This is spurious stuff marto

Cheika doesn’t get on with a lot of players…He has killed many many international careers because of his power greed and stubbornness..

George Smith ( should be 7)
Is in his late thirties, doesn’t want to play international rugby any more, and fair enough
Nic White ( way better than Phipps)
Was not better than Phipps in 2015, left as the Brumbies signed Cubelli
James Horwill
Had dropped some notches, wasn’t performing when given opportunities
Scott Fardy
Starting until he decided to leave
Liam Gill ( Reserve 7 )
Was a clear third best behind Pocock and Hooper, challenged for that 3rd place by McMahon and decided to leave
Matt Toomua
Never cemented a starring role, never cast aside either, could be back and hopefully better
Joe Tomane
Left for the money, did not ever look head and shoulders better
Greg Holmes
Is 34 years old…
Scott Higginbotham
Not exceptional at an international level, and not young enough to work on
Quade Cooper
It’s been explicitly said in the media they are on good terms, but he isn’tplaying well enough
Sam Carter
Others playing better than him
Luke Jones
Others playing much better than him
James O`Connor
Lol what?
Christian Lealiifano
You’ve got to be kidding right?

( Above players Chuckles has destroyed their careers)..

( Below Chuckles is slowly killing these blokes careers )..

Lopeti Timani
Has had chances, will continue to get chances, must take a chance soon
Sam Carter
In and around, but probably 4th or 5th best lock in Aus right now
James Slipper
Has a season ending achilles injury?
David Pocock
The guy is practically on holiday?
Joe Powell
Young, in the squad, getting experience
Samu Kerevi
Perhaps getting more opportunities than he’s earned, clearly being worked on
DHP
How?
RHP
Perhaps the one player on the list that merits it, but must be thereabouts
Meakes
First season in Super Rugby and he’s in the squad, clearly in and around but logically down the pecking order behind Beale and Hunt
Rona
Again, what?
Ruru
Genia, Phipps, Powell, Gordon, Ruru is probably the fair pecking order of halfbacks right now

Thanks Nick,
Always nice to see some informed writing on the scrum, something many people have an opinion on but few actually have any understanding of.
My question is, where is the line of legality? Is it purely down to a day-to-day interpretation by the ref?
Moody’s angle seemed significant to me that another official might of penalised him at a few early scrums and totally changed the shape of the battle by forcing him to adjust…

Does Kerevi have any history as a 12?

The Wallabies changes I’d like for Bledisloe 2, please

Nice prose Geoff, puts the elements of the game into a nice context, rather less sensational.

I particularly have been wondering when I dare to the comments sections on the thought about who might replace the *everybody/anybody that so many seem intent on removing.

Not wanting to stir the pot, but I believe that the intercept try was Foley’s fault, Hooper threw an average pass that Genia didn’t want, then Bernard collected it and, as the saying goes you shouldn’t shovel that sort of stuff.

Moore is not an impact player imo, so by rights he either needs to start or not be there at all.

Beale is back as Michael Cheika reveals his Wallabies team for Bledisloe 1

How does this align with Mark becoming (perhaps) the greatest Wallaby? Was he too young?
Really wish there were replays of these games…

Wallabies' Scotland loss needs to be an aberration

I didn’t watch the whole game, but boy that was some pretty blatant holding of Scott-Young to create the gap for the half-back there for the last try. Not sure at all how the ref could consider them holding each other.

Ah, mate, he’s been a successful CEO before he worked for the ARU, but lets not allow the facts to get in the way of a good conspiracy.

Bill Pulver's job on the line at ARU EGM

Also, as he is quoted as saying in the SMH today the EGM is not the way to get rid of him-they can have a vote of no confidence elsewhere, and for it to happen in the EGM it should already of been put forward as a matter to be considered.

Basically, who know what’s going to happen…

Bill Pulver's job on the line at ARU EGM

Application. It all comes down to application.

For mine, all this talk of an unbalanced back row, while not entirely without merit is a golden goose. One player-whoever it is, with the realistic ability to be at 20/30% of rucks will not make a difference to the team, what’s missing at the moment is application. The players are playing in a system (to suggest there’s no gameplan is ludicrous) but they are not executing their role properly-for instance cleaning up the rucks when the ball goes to ground.

The Wrap: There’s a lot to be said for having a game plan

This is sort of psychotic, but I can tell you that firstly, Hooper gets picked ahead of Pocock because Pocock is not playing rugby at the moment.

Five talking points from the Wallabies vs Scotland

I’d drive to Waverton and take PT from there, less hassle parking but you don’t have to go the whole way on buses and trains…

Wallabies inside centre card comes up Hunt

The amateur era that all and sundry are constantly clamouring for return too? The players that are referred to with such rose tinted admiration?

It’s absolutely relevant, that’s how we all want Australia playing, creativity and multiple focal points for that within the back line is the core of that idea.

Wallabies inside centre card comes up Hunt

He was absolutely, as an all-round option and a creative one, stepped into first receiver often enoughand was also tried at 10 for a while.

Also if you stick around long enough to get over the pithy responses you’ll notice that the tags such as “pro” are basically just for having been posting here for a while.
