perfect for AFL then

Players and pundits blowing the wrong horn when it comes to Usain Bolt

same could be asked about the A-League (or any competition level really), what’s the point? In the A-League, it’s the same teams playing over and over again and what does winning the premiership or the toilet seat really mean? nothing. what earnings are derived from it? Sure participation in the ACL is a good thing (but not financially). Anything else? What’s the point!?

What is the point of the National Premier Leagues?

the break is long and I am looking to some live prime time football but i’m not particularly excited for the season. has a here we go again feel.

A-League: The interminable wait

not just you mid. this new website format is confusing! I can’t tell which articles are new and which are being commented on. I mean I kinda can but it is a backwards step from the old format.

Does Tim Cahill deserve a farewell Socceroos friendly?

i’m sure all of this was pre-planned at FIFA were well aware. Probably wouldn’t have hurt Lowy to announce publicly up front he wouldn’t be attending the final day due to prior commitments in anticipation of how it would be viewed/reported. Another mistake by him.

Lowy a no-show at critical FIFA-FFA meeting

have you seen the submission in full Nem?

A-League clubs to push FIFA to ban FFA from football working group

good contribution

A-League clubs to push FIFA to ban FFA from football working group

his old man must seriously be disappointed in Steven’s performance.

Time for A-League clubs to show their cards

one model spoken about is an independent aleague commission whose decisions on strategic matters must still pass a vote by the expanded FFA board, this specifically relates to decisions which impact on the whole of the game. So id expect expansion into SE Asia would be one of those ideas which would need to be ratified by the board. day to day operational decisions would be made by the independent commission without the FFA board’s interference.

Time for A-League clubs to show their cards

seriously grow up kids. this place has today gone to the dogs. note – I’ve assumed you are all adults.

Time for the fans to reclaim the A-League

pregnant for a seventh. classic.

Melbourne Victory stage wild 3-3 draw with Ulsan

what do you expect from a bgn aussie network. they’re used to anglo names or they simply don’t care and just anglocise ‘w#g’ names cos “you’re in staya mate”. We can all remember the completely unfunny mock Socceroos match call back in the 80’s (watabich etc.) with the Smith, hope I pronounced that correctly punchline. Nothing’s changed in this country despite how much we’ve think we’ve developed.

Call me by my name: Hyeon Chung, Channel Seven and the Australian Open

can understand not wanting to spend coin on an ACL strip for exactly the reason of last night’s result. but still, surely they could’ve gotten them attached properly. completely amateur and embarrassing for Oz football. Hope AFC fine the Roar, if not FFA should for bringing Oz football into disrepute. As for JA, I feel genuinely sorry for him, he just doesn’t seem up to scratch for f/t pro management.

"I won't walk away": Under-pressure Aloisi digs in at Roar

god he talks like a clown coaching an armature senior side. glory are doomed with him around.

Lowe not feeling the pinch at Perth Glory

Mike, doesn’t Roar have to win a play off before any consideration can be given to potential ACL games? Are you suggesting Roar games get moved now even with the 50/50 chance they won’t have a corresponding ACL fixture to contend with? Gee wipe the chip off man.

Is a spiritual return to Richlands the right move for Brisbane Roar?

I have been led to believe it is the Balgownie Rangers (whom i’m played for) but tbh I don’t really know Newcastle football history.

Definitely some close similarities and ties given the coal and steel.

The A-League needs more Lawries

there is no logic in that Nem. I’d go with nowhere at all. Waz nails the reasons above.

Solutions to the A-League's problems

is there a gold coast ground that could hold 50k?

Solutions to the A-League's problems

“Newcastle remains one of the great football cities, with a history longer than any sport anywhere in Australia”

this could be a whole article in itself. I have a feeling the Illawarra could give Newy a run for its money.

The A-League needs more Lawries

cheers for this. might have to look at ditching my set top box if it works out cheaper as you indicate above. just need to work the whole dongle thing out. that word feels a bit dirty.

Sunday is alright when it comes to the A-League

how did you get into on the tv screens from your mobile Nem?

Sunday is alright when it comes to the A-League

any respectable football fun understand the premiers plate is the most difficult trophy to win and is awarded to the best team across the whole season. Winning the Championship is fun, don’t get me wrong. And I am all for the finals and the GF, the exposure is priceless and sold out GFs are a great way to end the season. But the team who finishes top of the table is the most important trophy.

Newcastle breathing down Sydney's necks as minor premiership race heats up

I reported Jeff’s comment and his needless antagonism of Nem. Lets all try and ignore the AFL trolls today, just for once and see if we can keep the football conversation on track! Any comments from any of the AFL trolls, unless it is constructive and on topic, ignore it. Lets give it a go!

Football is a game of opinions - that's why so many care about it

yay!

Football is a game of opinions - that's why so many care about it

great comment Buddy. The other thing with Slater, he is so in bed with Arnold, it is difficult to take anything he says on this topic without a hint of cynicism.
