Having no dedicated attack coach on this tour was a monumental mistake, over the last 12 months by and large the Wallabies had been making progress in attack and defence, save for a few glitches here and there.
How could Michael Cheika think he could coach the attack? It probably supports the notion mentioned numerous times that our attack was one dimensional on this tour and that the Wallabies are one trick ponies. Seems to me Cheika is well known for being high on motivational speeches and ‘bash em’ talk, but low on detail, he was also in charge of the Tahs (full of test players)misfiring lineout, until Hoiles had to take over. I’m also not so sure he has a very good grasp of the various aspects of a kicking game and the skills required for players to practice it..?????? Or maybe he can blame the refs, or the IRB, or Sanzar for sanctioning him, the ball, or anything else that he dredges up to make himself out as the victim?
10 months is going to come around quickly with little time together. the Wallabies won’t have much time to get their sh&t together before WC. I can’t help but feeling after this disaster in Europe, they will almost have to start again with such little time before the WC, it’s not like they can hit the ground running. Larkham is being brought in just before the World Cup to coach a Cheika attack pattern he won’t have coached before and which is almost the complete opposite of what he coaches at the Brumbies. I’m sure the the Brumbies Board would be happy their 1st year coach will be splitting his priorities…..
Moore must be Captain, Beale would have been sent home from the airport if he was skipper, not like Hooper who rallied his mates around and undermined the coach. We need a bloke who stands for something, not entrenched in being one of the boys, someone who inspires and gives direction in the last 10 min, not looking at his players with a blank glaze.
A lot to think about between now and then, the problem is the people in charge with thinking about it will be doing it in their spare time!

To improve the Wallabies, Cheika first needs to beat them

Having no dedicated attack coach on this tour was a monumental mistake, over the last 12 months by and large the Wallabies had been making progress. Apparently it was Coaching Co-ordinator Nick Scrivener who had to take the reigns during all the drama when Mckenzie went ‘missing’ overseas, wasn’t turning up for training etc.. and for the final NZ. match. I wonder what these two coaches are doing now? It also sounds like Blades is copping all the blame for the scrum woes. Silk purse, sows ear anyone?
In full agreement Moreton, How could Michael Cheika think he could coach the attack? It probably supports the notion mentioned numerous times that our attack was one dimensional on this tour and that the Wallabies are one trick ponies. I’m sure he has a very good grasp of the various aspects of a kicking game and the skills required for players to practice it..?????? No more Cheika's way or the highway

Extremely poor tour and incredibly naive approach from Cheika to test rugby, welcome to the big time son. He is very fortunate he hasn’t played the All Blacks or Springboks on this tour. Lack of attacking shape, one pass one off runner rugby bereft of imagination, entirely predictable, easily defended, zero kicking game, poor set piece, Blind rush defence which gets exposed on the edge and isolates 10 defending at the back.To think such tactics and monotonous dribble about huff, puff, mongrel and training hard are going to cut it at test level is laughable. Sick of reading how tight they are, how much fun they are having, how much of a culture shift there is. The sure sign culture is a problem is when everyone keeps mentioning it! Are they trying to convince themselves? How about they stop the man love and actually start playing for each other? Cheika has been exposed by Pulvers rush to appoint him and the associated good media vibe, all to save his own skin. In the process Pulver gets bent over by Cheika and the NSW power brokers by allowing the National HC to coach the Waratahs as well as the Wallabies in a World Cup year. Can you imagine Hanson being allowed to coach the Crusaders? Lancaster being allowed to coach Wasps? Meyer coaching the Bulls???
The ARU’ s breathtaking lack of direction off the field under Pulver is now being matched by Cheika’s on it.

Wallabies end tour with loss to England
