Absolutely. The point of being a director of any company is that you apply wisdom and skill to the motivate the executive so as to achieve the purpose of the organisation as stated in the constitution. You don’t in any circumstances engage in activities that could be perceived to be self motivated. You’re not there for yourself.
'Easy to throw stones': RA chairman hits back at mudslingers' 'hypocrisy' after calls for AGM board cleanout
No idea. What I can say is that the chair shouldn’t be commenting on the free press and social media calls for his replacement. That just says he’s not the right guy for the job.

I tell you what, those Tottenham fans were glad to see the back of Conte. Now they’ve got Ange and they reckon they don’t care if they win or lose because it’s good to watch either way
Sufferball: How the Dragons are turning pain into pleasure under Shane Flanagan
I like the idea of making the fans members. Possibly via sign up to an RA app. One issue with membership voting is the lack of engagement where voters go for headlines and not details. As we can see if the recent history of RA, it’s the details that matter
COMMENT: Australian rugby is a depressing picture - the RA board must be axed and the constitution changed
“The goal of SOARR is to remove the current constitution of RA and replace it with a constitution which has the broad rugby population of clubs and states vote for board members similar to shareholders of a public company.”
Not trying to be nitpicky, but this makes no sense at all. I suspect you mean you want a new constitution that gives the fans the right to vote on certain matters? Which matters and which fans? And how do you qualify the fans? Shareholders actually buy equity so their rights and obligations are associated with their purchase of shares. What’s your equivalent in this case?

During school holidays here in Qld, my 6 year old goes to some school associated care for the two weeks. Last week Queensland Cricket came in and the kids all played cricket all day. He now wants to sign up for cricket. That’s a good spend of funds me thinks. You get either players or fans, or both

I was waiting for a bit of insight as to what causes this Vegas hangover. C’mon!

Demetriou facing sack after Souths' disastrous start with Bennett, Bellamy, Burgess possible replacement options
Australians are buying things they don’t need and can’t really afford, all the time. Cars, houses, private schooling for their kids, OS holidays, you name it. It’s the national way … who are we to tell Tasmania that they can’t pile on?
The AFL holding Tasmania to ransom with stadium political football is an utter disgrace
It’s all good but I’ve still got no idea whose going to win this year. I suspect it won’t be the Panthers again but none of the others stand out either. It would be interesting to analyse previous years and see if injuries are the deciding factor.
NRL Power Rankings: Round 3 - Eels seal real deal status, Bunnies need Easter miracle, Tigers terrrrific, Titans in tatters
I think they really have no choice to but to get these collisions out of the game. It’s simply too dangerous for the poor bloke on the receiving end, who had no opportunity to protect himself. That’s the real issue. I saw the incident and disagree with the author. Although to repeat the calls of many, he should get as many weeks out as the patient.
Six Points: Papley's hypocrisy, Wright's Tribunal verdict the wrong call, and why are we retiring Pendlebury?
As you know Australia leads the world in mining technology, especially open cut mining technology.
With all the talk of multi billion dollar new stadiums, it’s clearly time that we despatch open cut mining technology towards the development of new stadia.
I’ve looked into it and one digger and one big truck could build a hole big enough for the new Gabba in two weeks. The pitch would be at the bottom of the hole, with the seats positioned up the terraced sides.
The effort would be cash flow positive so long as they chose a spot for the stadium which includs a few minerals, preferably gold, uranium or platinum.
The roof issue is then cheaply solved at ground level with your garden variety corrugated steel construction, just like your local Bunnings roof.

Footy Fix: 'Essendon Edge' can't fix the Bombers' long list of flaws - but it's a start
The issues with the Gabba that they were going to spend $3b on were something to do with the toilets, the ambulances being too tall, and not enough seats by about 5000 seats. Crazy stupid excuses to spend $3b. Brisbane is already over-served with stadiums, so spend the money on something else, useful. Although, the roundabout down the road on Moggill Rd is now in it’s third year of construction. The Chinese could do it overnight. So maybe best not to try and build anything ever?

Send him to wests tigers. They aren’t going to win a game this year anyway, so there’s nothing to lose.

100% agree with ref relations. We’ve been very bad for many years on this front. It can’t be acting or whining, it has to be genuine.

In football it’s well recognised that there’s no correlation between an individual’s playing career and their potential in a coaching career. Both of the Rugby codes seen to be still learning this lesson (Brad Thorn, Larkham, Benji). Les Kiss was a superb league player but that isn’t why he’s looking to be a good Rugby coach.
Discovering the blueprint for Super Rugby success: How Kiss managed to get away from a one-dimensional style
The author has to be kidding. He’s had the apprenticeship and if his team isn’t competitive thenthey need to change coach. How long do we Balmain fans have to wait to have a competitive team?
Benji's first Tigers game doesn't matter, and neither does his first year - he should treat this all as a trial
It’s a bit confusing that Sam Kerr can make a racist remark that apparently isn’t racist because it was directed to member of a racial majority. In this case, it’s one minority to another. What if it’s the same minority? How about just they just say nothing with racist reference at all?

I blame tennis, with their tie breaks. They started it because they had to. Matches were going on for hours – one Wimbledon match lasted over 11 hours. Now they have the 5th set 10 point tie break. In league the golden point did at least bring back the drop goal which we hadn’t really seen for 50 years.

Think of a board of an entity that just about to be taken over in a hostile manner. They always say it’s a terrible idea, barbarians, etc. in over 50% of cases it usually works out ok for the customers, the shareholders and the company employees. Just not the board directors. It’s easy to make statements about the future which can’t be substantiated unless you’re Nostradamus
