Yawn …
How ironic that someone complaining about rugby being boring, could be so tedious?

Rugby’s descent into cynical play: Why neutral fans should back the All Blacks for the good of the game

The AB’s don’t lose to ANYONE often. Looking forward to the game next week – hope both teams bring their best

How Rassie reshaped Springboks after social media ref rant - and the key role played by a harsh critic

Fair enough @sofa Coach, thanks for the good luck wishes – turns out we needed them!

As a Boks fan, I am obviously pleased with the outcome and the character shown till the end. However, I have to say respect to an England team who played a fantastic game and were unfortunate not to win, having dominated all aspects of the game, for most of the game

UK VIEW: 'Utter heartbreak' for 'brilliant, cunning, courageous' Poms in WC semi 'undeservedly' won by Boks

Ah, all the hate for Rassie by fans of teams that lose to the Sprngboks! Absolutely loving it, bring it on 😂 😂 😂 😂

Couldn’t agree more!

RWC News: 'Carry a grudge til the day they die' - Jones dismisses Wallabies rejects, Razor 'not allowed' at ABs games

One would hope that Kirwan and Wilson are fully aware that just because they have an opinion, it doesn’t mean that they are correct. NZ doesn’t hold the keys to rugby Nirvana. We don’t need rugby to be engineered to suit their style and have everyone playing like the All Blacks. Personally, I love the strategic play and set-piece dominance employed by the Springboks; the maul, penalty kick, maul, scrum, slow it down works beautifully for me. I’m glad they’re “cool with it” that that’s what I want 😛.
Literally the only game this world cup that I personally got bored with and tuned out of early was All Blacks vs Italy. So there you go, different strokes for different folks.
But I’m not calling for everyone to play like the Boks. Play how you like and compete, no need to redesign rugby; one man’s Boring Boks is another man’s Brilliant Boks

Shame, poor Matt Williams! Feels too small to stand-up to the bigger boys on the playground, so wants teacher to stop the big guys playing. If you can’t stand the heat, maybe Union isn’t for you, perhaps find something more appropriate to your skills instead of trying to change the game to suit your personal circumstances. Or maybe get some tips on how to play with the big boys, from Faf de Klerk, Kurt Lee Arendse or Cheslin Kolbe.

'Seriously': Ex-Scotland coach calls on World Rugby to 'act' on Springboks after 'abusing bench' against All Blacks

@simon_Sez again I respectfully (but vigorously) disagree. I can’t personally see any plan that Australia can come up with, given it’s geography, that would be good for it by decoupling from NZ. The chance to play NZ teams regularly is a gift. You get better by playing the best, not by running away to find someone who you can beat. Having to play NZ teams is not Australia’s problem; bad ideas are Australian rugby’s problem. I do go down to my local rugby field to watch my local teams play. But the games I really love are the international competitions. Who on earth wants to watch Australia’s top teams just play each other, without comparing them to the best?

Three strikes and we should be out: Why it's time for Australia to quit Super Rugby Pacific

A good union comp in the Pacific is crucial for Australia. No problem with keeping the Super Rugby Pacific brand; “Super Rugby” is a great brand and can stay – just get rid of the policies and rules that prevent it from actually being super. Stop restricting clubs to a single nationality. Open it up to be a competition between Pacific clubs that aren’t restricted on who they select and how they’re paid.
When it comes to the National team, choose the best Australian players from across the world, regardless of where they play

“I wrote an article in March 2013 for The Roar proposing a Giteau Law structure be introduced”, epitomises everything that is wrong with Australian rugby. Instead of asking how can we be the best; how can we ensure that the Wallabies compete equally on an International stage with the best representatives of Australian rugby, the cultural mindset wants to pass rules to cap salaries and limit participation of the best candidates in order to engineer a social outcome that they prefer, which guarantees that teams performs less than their best (one can only assume it’s an unintentional outcome, despite the outcome being obvious). If you want the public to support rugby union in Australia, strive to make Union the best to watch and get rid of the social engineers who dumb down Australian rugby to the lowest common denominator. Good luck with getting broad support for the Giteau law internationaly – international rugby fans don’t care for silly ideas.

I love The Roar, however obviously do not always concur. This particular article sums up an unfortunate negative aspect of Australian culture generally and Australian rugby in particular. The bureaucratic “I” dotters and “T” crossers can’t help themselves. The rest of the rugby loving world focusses on the sport of rugby but a subset of Aussie culture want to tear down the tall poppies as they complain and focus on what players are wearing. Disgraceful. Good luck winning the World Cup! Thank goodness the Wallabies have a coach who will dismiss this article with the same contempt as many others if us will

COMMENT: Plenty of excuses but no excuse as Wallabies look like a squad of randoms playing park footy
