Something that I’m finding funny this season is how many Carlton fans are just now realizing Hewett and Cerra are good. They’re not just good- they’re *exactly* what Carlton needed, and are playing as well as I expected them to.

Five things to watch in Round 3

Please, Judd isn’t the first and won’t be the last official to state something publicly in the name of unity while thinking something else.

What’s changed? The abject, listless, soulless nature of the team’s performance. GWS should have won by 150 a few weeks ago, Essendon by as many as they wanted on Sunday… and when you scatter in good performances like the one against Collingwood it seems the players aren’t performing anywhere near their best on a regular basis, and surely that’s on the coach?

Brendon Bolton was crucified to save SOS's sins

This- the interesting bit was around the midfield. Brisbane’s avg was 5.5 years in the AFL system, Carlton’s was 4.5. If you delve even deeper you’ll realise that Carlton’s average includes Marc Murphy and Ed Curnow- two experienced guys who aren’t actually playing midfield, so that average is probably closer to 3 years.

They’re kids having a crack, and they are having a good crack. Be patient and good things will come.

Travis- as a fellow Carlton fan, I’d like to disagree with everything you’ve said. Comparing the club now with what Malthouse left behind, I’d argue-

– Our list is now one we can build a successful side from
– Our coaching, development and fitness departments are all AFL standard
– Membership is as high as it’s ever been

We haven’t won a game yet in 2019 but the performances are a lot better- look at our percentage for evidence. Have some patience, and stop praying for a messiah, this is 2019.

“That is the responsibility of the coaching staff”

Young players make mistakes. Carlton is an extremely young team.

“The fans should be bitterly disappointed with the progress of many of the young players.” I’m not, and any “fans” who can’t see the progress of our youngsters either aren’t watching enough games or don’t know anything about football.
