The Wrap: Rebels’ emotions mask 'anger and frustration' as Brumbies cop a six-day semifinal turnaround

Kuenzle Walton daugunu korobeiti and flook can play wing

Schmidt picks 17 Reds players for train-on squad - but there's no room for Suli in Wallabies' immediate future

I think math is right. Carter is 23 FFS. He’s a kid. He’s been living away for years and has had some tough times being slapped around a bit. He wants to go home and reset. League is fun to play and suits his style coz he can tackle. Why not? He’ll stay fit and won’t lose his rugby skills. To automatically think a kid wants to stay on the road be it Sydney Europe or Japan is presumptive

Carter Gordon's shock code switch: Wallabies No.10 announces NRL move

Lsl one of the three best locks in Oz but any kiwi team would take him in a heart beat. They need his size and shape.

Rebels lock 'will find a way' to get game time, with Wallabies recall to face Wales the goal

LSL and Rodda a good combo. Good size and lineout. I like the idea of Skelton starting and lsl coming in with 20 to go to up the lineout and the pace. Will starting with a work horse like Rodda. With no will then lsl starts with a frost on the bench maybe. Cale next year will be in that mix starting or bench. This year leota probably gets 6 but I’m tempted to use Swinton for his anger and to keep him interested

Brisbane lions afl club did a grand final run after being pumped up. Freo dockers never pumped up properly coz of how dangerous the eagles looked to Victorian footy clubs. To expand you do need to pump up the new team for at least 5 years

The Wrap: Rebels’ emotions mask 'anger and frustration' as Brumbies cop a six-day semifinal turnaround

The afl looked at vanawatu and there were so many young who were 5 ft 10 and 140 kgs. Breeding ground for props and weight lifting

Noah got to play with AWJ who offered him mentoring. LSL got mentored by Courtney Lawes. Well worth sending a young wallaby up north. It’d make or break TT but I’d send him to play with Skelton. He’d get the right diet control and he’d use his power for good

The Wrap: Rebels’ emotions mask 'anger and frustration' as Brumbies cop a six-day semifinal turnaround

It had to be four teams. The force or the rebels getting in the force the entry vote so the political push became to squeeze a Melbourne team in. I’d have accepted losing the spot to the almost myth of Victoria as being the sporting capital of Australia but once the force were selected they needed to be backed and Victoria to wait. If Victoria had got in first then it had to be the other way round. Very bad management from RA and refusing to draw on a lot of proven knowledge of how to expand a competition

The Wrap: Rebels’ emotions mask 'anger and frustration' as Brumbies cop a six-day semifinal turnaround

LROut I never knew Graham but he dumped the force mid season when the qld gig came up and that seemed very wrong to me.

And no disrespect intended to Foote but afl pumped and continued to concessions money cost of living in Sydney allowance and the great Ron arras’s as coach to sort out the culture who then handed over to a more technical guy

The Wrap: Rebels’ emotions mask 'anger and frustration' as Brumbies cop a six-day semifinal turnaround

AFL juniors has been shrinking substantially according to informed sources. Probly more kids dropping out of sports and the AFL keeping more of the good ones. Many places the govt schools don’t have coaches

The Wrap: Rebels’ emotions mask 'anger and frustration' as Brumbies cop a six-day semifinal turnaround

Brumbies started in a different environment. They did very well to establish themselves but they were the third team not the fifth and there were less top talents heading north those days

Cheers PK. Seru can fake it at test lock but we’d want some big bodies around him so he’s primarily a 6 for mine.

'Care for each other deeply': Kiss finds 'soft' positives after QF no-show shreds Wallaby prospects

Lsl would help as would the strength and over the ball of daugunu at 13. Flook good but still a little light. Even 5kgs would help and shouldn’t slow him down. Uru too small for a top lock.

Isn’t it a two year bridging contract. Who gets the job otherwise? Penney was available at about the level and a good club man. 2 years he’s done and then those 20s come through. But Burke playing the season and more scooter woulda made a big difference. Even havilli was injured and he can fake it at 10

Success and Rob Penney have been strangers for years - what did the Crusaders expect?

Thought bubble. Losing that coaching group and compensating by getting in Penney (culture) and mentors eg halfpenny, franks and crotty. Reckon those guys were supposed to train not play till the injury crisis. Franks can show the young props how to train and crotty is very clever.

Success and Rob Penney have been strangers for years - what did the Crusaders expect?

Hi Hamish sounds like you know Penney and really don’t rate him as a head coach? Is that about a narrative or a genuinely held belief?

No worries you are a truer cricket fan than I. Warne the person I have some issues with but one of histories greatest cricketers. He could catch bat think (on the pitch) and bowl.
McGrath and lillee were greats but I think not as great although McGrath saying he’d target a batsman and getting him out is worthy of respect and that Garrick in Perth picking up Lara

The 12 Teams of the Month: Which World Cricket XI would triumph?

I’d have loved to play in Japan. Scott Fardy did for 3rds? Can’t have been much money but the town loved him and the imports (lotta Tongans) and the players helped after the tsunami even though they weren’t supposed to

'Deadly silent, absolute devastation': How Rebels players reacted to brutal news

Mate Warne had a great cricket mind and and an enormous will to win. Remember that test in Adelaide. He wanted it and he took it.

Chase injured apparently

Super Rugby teams R15: Reds near full strength, Paddy Ryan answers Tah SOS, Force's Donno blow, Kels on the wing

Some guys would stay in Melbourne if there was a team but no team those guys would go overseas whilst young enough to contribute and enjoy the experience. Rebels have a lot of guys who’d be welcome many places in the world including the USA but a low division Europe would be fun. They’ll find you a job and a party just like the old days. It’s not all about money especially for the squad guys who train hard but will never make enough to retire on

'Deadly silent, absolute devastation': How Rebels players reacted to brutal news

Sooner the better to announce so everyone can refocus. I believe the Japanese season has now wrapped so a player looking to continue a career doesn’t want to lose too much time and can’t fit all the top players in other clubs and maybe some the journeymen types will have a last hurrah in low division Europe for fun before returning to Oz and retiring to 3rds or fifths

'Deadly silent, absolute devastation': How Rebels players reacted to brutal news

Tom w combines well with Noah thus making it easier to pick the best goal kicker at 10. AK can catch that cross kick and is a good wing 15 hybrid so the other wing goes korobeiti or Toole. Probably daugunu on the bench. Len at 13. White starts at 9 with Tate on the bench. Frost doesn’t have the tight tough stuff for starting 6 so I’d go wright or seru. Tom hooper not ready yet and I want to see what liam can do. I could also live with the improved leota at 6 but want Liam to have a run with mcreight
