Ravindra seems on par with Phil Tufnel in the field, very ordinary, promising with the bat but must improve in the other areas of the game, namely fielding.

Carey the clutch king: Gloveman's stunning 98, Cummins heroics keep Kiwi curse alive in thrilling comeback win

Tim David is being found out at international level, on his showing in this series he cannot play spin, which will be important in the WI.

'It's hard to wrap my head around': Wade rages at umpires after non-call sees Aussies fall to India again

Alot of Indian cricket fans think Manjrekar is a flog, same with Sunny G, albeit Sunny had an imposing international career compared to Manjrekar, Harsha Bogle and Manjrekar can’t stand each other, that tells a story.

'India still best 50 overs team in the world': Former star blames 'sandpaper pitch' and toss of the coin for World Cup loss

Last night’s official crowd size was smaller than the 2015 final at the MCG…92k last evening plays 93k at the G in 2015 according to Adam Collins and Geoff Lemon.

CHAMPIONS! Head's heroic ton, bowling brilliance sees Aussies crush India for SIXTH - and best - World Cup win

Mitch Starc needs a special mention,he had been out of sorts all tournament then in the semi final and final of an away WC he comes roaring back to life, well played,a true champion.

CHAMPIONS! Head's heroic ton, bowling brilliance sees Aussies crush India for SIXTH - and best - World Cup win

Reynolds general kicking game was poor, he was brought into the club to direct the Broncos around the park especially in the big games but he came up short last night producing one of his poorest displays of the season.

The groin/hip injury he sustained seemed to affect his long kicking game (but not his goal kicking?) at 24-8 you would expect him to have the game management smarts to see it through to a victory for Brisbane, but in the end it was not to be…

NRL Grand Final Talking Points: Three-peat makes Panthers best since '80s Eels, Broncos can bounce back from painful loss

With Flegler,Farnworth and Palasia all moving on there will need to be a reshuffle next season, it could be that by not winning tonight the premiership window could be closed for the time being, given his age and recent injury record there will need to be some clear succession planning for when Reynolds inevitably retires likely in the next few seasons.

Grand Final player ratings - Brisbane Broncos: Nobody better than Ezra but hot-and-cold stars prove costly

Contrast Ponting with Clarke who was one of Australia’s better tactical captains and whenever he commentates he definitely doesn’t come across as a strategic thinker of the game compared to Ponting, strange really.

Alot of people say it was Warne’s influence on Clarke that was part of the reason he was good tacitly but who knows really.

The best coach for the Australian cricket team was at the Ashes but in the commentary box

The only time India and Pakistan play each other is at ICC tournaments, the teams have not played a test match against each other since 2007…

Flem's Verdict: Stokes’ spirit of cricket goes out the window over catch while ICC needs to sort out ludicrous ball-swap farce

For me the Ashes is the highest profile series in cricket so it should require the highest quality officiating and having the best umpires available for the series, I think irrespective if those umpires are from Australia or England they should be chosen to umpire in the series and to be the on field umpires.
I don’t believe we saw high standards of umpiring this Ashes series particularly in the final test at the Oval. Joel Wilson and Kumar Dharmasena would have to be two of the poorer umpires on the elite ICC umpiring panel.
The comment by Khawaja that when he questioned Wilson about why they were using a ball that appeared to be about 8 overs old Wilson said that ‘there was nothing else in the box’ that closely matched the 35 over ball that was being used at the time of the change was telling, as was Khawaja’s view that if there was not a similar ball available that matched the ball that was being used at the time then why was the ball being changed at all.

Flem's Verdict: Stokes’ spirit of cricket goes out the window over catch while ICC needs to sort out ludicrous ball-swap farce

Reports are that England have refused to have a post series drink with Australia and preferred to celebrate the series ending by themselves, that all seems very petty but with Stokes & McCullum at the helm probably to be expected.

UK View: 'The moral victory is real' - Poms revel in Pat's 'failure', downfall of 'dastardly' and 'scared' Aussies

The officiating all series has been farcical, culminating with Dharmasana and Wilson and the 4th umpire somehow replacing a 50 over ball for a ball that was about 5 overs old in Australia’s last innings.
It was obvious to everyone that the condition of the ball on the 5th morning completely changed the state of the game, the umpires have questions to answer as to how England effectively got to bowl with 3 new balls in the innings. There can’t be many worse umpires on the ‘elite’ ICC umpiring panel than Wilson and Dharmasana.
In the end a drawn series is probably the fairest result as neither team were good enough when it mattered to secure an outright series win, I think for Australia this result will be deflating after taking a 2-0 series lead and being unable to win any of the last 3 tests, credit to England for being competitive throughout the whole series.

Wonderful Woakes and Bairstow stunner sink Aussies as ball change debate, Stokes catch howler end Ashes in drama

Outstanding from Starc today,he comes in for a lot criticism regularly, some of it is at times warranted but credit where it is due he is Australia’s leading wicket taker in the series with 15 wickets,I think he has really showed his class this ashes series.

Warner loss sours Aussie comeback as Starc inspires England collapse despite drops aplenty

Even if Australia somehow manage to escape with a draw in the 4th test due to the weather,it is difficult to see how they get up and win the 5th test,I hope to be proven wrong but on the current showing it is doubtful.

The team look shot with bat and ball since winning at Lords they have fallen away quite remarkably, especially with the bat.

Anything less than winning this series for Australia after being 2-0 up will be a major disappointment, England have been galvanised since the Bairstow debacle at Lords and have outplayed Australia in all facets of the game.

Bairstow 99, Wood's triple strike crush Aussies as series hangs on incoming Manchester downpour

317 was always unders on what is a very flat pitches especially when you have strengthened the batting lineup at the expense of a bowler.

Someone in the top 6 needed to go on with it like Crawley has done but they didn’t,while todays effort with the ball was lacklustre,it has been poor batting that has let England back into the series.

Looking at the forecast for the next three days it’s unlikely there will enough rain around to save Australia.

Zak attack: Crawley clobbers century as 'sloppy' Aussies pray for rain to save Manchester massacre

Average bowling to the lower order in the first innings and poor 2nd innings batting from Australia cost them this game,England will be buoyed heading into Manchester and they will be feeling confident.

Australia have not scored over 300 runs in there last 3 innings and will need to rectify this if they want to win the series.

Ashes alive: Brook, Woakes, Wood the heroes as England clinch thrilling run chase despite superb Starc

The start from Khawaja and Warner setup the day for Australia, alot of wasted deliveries from England, Anderson bowled a 5th stump line most of the day and was not threatening. There does not appear to be any particular plans to get the Australian batsman out rather the plan appears to be bowl on off stump and hope for the best and let the pitch and overhead conditions do the work.
Australia have come thoroughly prepared for this series, England look like they are making it up as they go along.

Late brain explosions sour Aussies' dominant day as Smith, Head, Warner lord it at Lord's

I think Wood will definitely come in for one of the bowlers as they need the extra pace, wether he comes in for Anderson unsure.

CAPTAIN FANTASTIC! Clutch Cummins sees Aussies home in Ashes instant CLASSIC

It’s quite obvious that Anderson is not 100% fit, other than Broad none of the English bowlers look match fit.

CAPTAIN FANTASTIC! Clutch Cummins sees Aussies home in Ashes instant CLASSIC

The forecast for day 5 looks to be perfect for seam bowling, chasing 174 on the last day will be very tough,a lot depending on Khawaja,Head,Green and Carey. Not a great start to the series for Marnus and Smith.

Over to you, Uzzy! Broad burst topples Labuschagne and Smith to leave Aussie run chase perilously poised

It’s only taken 2 days into the series to see that dropping Ben Foakes for Bairstow was asinine, missed stumping and a dropped catch already from Johnny, whatever runs he scores will be negated if he can’t take his chances behind the stumps particularly on flat pitches.

Uzzy's the man! Khawaja's finest ton keeps Aussies afloat, but advantage England after top-order failures

Foakes has apparently been dropped in place of Bairstow keeping, on top of the injuries to the bowlers including Anderson. The England team appear be quite unsettled leading into the first test, personally think Australia has as good a chance as ever to securing a first away Ashes series win since 2001.

Ashes burning questions, one month out: Batting woes, injured quicks, Bazball factor, who should be favourites?

Making a best XI of WTC 2021-23

ICC= BCCI, why would anyone be surprised with this result?

Why India winning pitch rating battle is another body blow for Test cricket's future as T20 nears global saturation

Any series win in India should not be taken lightly, coming back from 1-0 to win 2-1 shows a lot of character especially in foreign conditions like India.
If they can produce this sort of form in the 50 over WC in October there’s no reason Australia can’t come away with a 6th ODI WC win.

Warner switch falls flat but Zampa and Agar spin Aussies to stunning series win over India
