Were it German it would simply be ‘Neen ahba’/ not sure how the Surf Efricans say it. 😛

'Go and f--k them up': What sets the generals and their orders apart as final four prepare to battle for the RWC

I’d love to see ABs v England! 😁

In ingles, for us peasants, that translates to “What one man can do another can do too” or something along those lines.

Btw, it is a challenge to the opposition but that isn’t all it is.
Haka are widely performed in NZ to mark an occasion with respect. Ironic eh?

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

As far as I know, it began at Cardiff Arms Park-where the Welsh did it as an ad hoc response to guess what?

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

Funbus
Why do we have to sing national anthems at every sporting event?
Any idea where that came from?

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

mz did you see that clip on another article a few days ago where an Irish pundit on ‘Off The Ball'(?) was talking about Sam Cane? I asked you if you knew who he was.

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

Earlier ABs sides only performed haka on occasion mzilikazi and always overseas I believe-I’m unsure whether or not it was on a whim or pre-arranged in some way.
Gradually they began to perform them before every Test…and tour game as is well known. It is quite embarrassing to look back and see how little thought and care was put into the ritual until the advent of one Buck Shelford.
I can’t recall quite when the ‘tradition’ began to draw criticism in certain quarters but I’m pretty sure it was sometime after the beginning of the nineties-someone can help me out with this. Question is: why?
I just get so fed up with something that is really special to me as a kiwi is being used by some people pretty much as a dog whistle.
I have long thought that less is more and perhaps it would be better to perform them only on special occasions.
I don’t know how other kiwi feel about this, would be interested to hear.

Read somewhere Sexton made one run metre. He tended to crab sideways like an octogenarian BB. 😛

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

I hate it how often in recent years the haka has been contentious.
I’d be happy for the ABs to stop doing it in England and Ireland if it isn’t welcomed there.
Start doing one in the changing rooms prior to going onto the pitch.
Reserve public displays for people that appreciate the traditions……

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

So essentially PSTS you don’t give two ticks for tradition, is that what you are saying?
Spiro’s contention is that being respectful of the haka-a tradition of the great game-necessitates keeping quiet while it plays out.
You say, “na, why should we?”. Does that mean that were you to attend a match at Dublin you would go on like a pork chop yelling and whistling while the Irish #10 lines up a penalty, too?
Or is it only about the haka? Is there something in particular you find offensive about it? I imagine you feel the same about Samoan, Tongan and Fijian traditions too? Heck, any traditions that don’t agree with you?
Interested to hear your thoughts.

SPIRO ZAVOS: The moment I knew Irish curse would continue, and why Southern giants still rule the Cup

Most New Zealanders would agree with you PS
Solely on that particular point, I suspect. 😛

That doesn’t make them any less exhausted after that quarter-final Nick.

COMPLETE RWC SF teams: Poms make three changes as Boks name most capped XV, ABs' QF hero starts for Cheika's Pumas

I ‘feel’ that Blackadder has more to offer of the two but in his defence Luke Jacobson has not really had a fair crack with the top players around him.
He was below the radar at Twickenham but we were playing a man down and with our best front row missing and I remember he was subbed off due to one of the front row being carded as well. Maybe that was a different occasion? All a bit of a blur.
I reckon either of that pair coming off the bench with the current starting 23 would add some quality but it appears we will literally never know.

I have never seen a Springbok team as innovative as this one and the coaches deserve a lot of credit for that.

Dare I say it, it is time for Aussie fans to get behind the Wallaroos right now!
How many of you know that they will be playing the best team in the world tomorrow night?
Get behind your team and maybe, just maybe, the cart can lead the nag { that’s AR for you dummies} to water! 👍

Forget Eddie's Coogee circus, the biggest questions Australian rugby must answer were revealed in Paris

Jacobson is another player who was brought in belatedly-almost grudgingly-and hasn’t really had a decent chance to establish himself.
I was excited when Blackadder was brought in and really felt he could add some real starch to our bench but that hasn’t transpired. A lot of ifs, buts and maybes with this squad.
With Christie, i don’t think he will let anyone down but having him there presupposes that NZ will have a lead to defend when he comes on. If Foster has faith in him then why didn’t he get a run v Ireland in those dying minutes?
What I like about Roigard is the fact that he offers a point of difference and could be a game- breaker. That’s what you need if you are trailing and need a spark. Does FC offer that?

COMPLETE RWC SF teams: Poms make three changes as Boks name most capped XV, ABs' QF hero starts for Cheika's Pumas

I’m not wring the Pumas off that is for sure.
Been bitten too many times for complacency!

COMPLETE RWC SF teams: Poms make three changes as Boks name most capped XV, ABs' QF hero starts for Cheika's Pumas

So Christie is only there as injury cover effectively. That is wasted space and opportunity.
He must get some minutes this week to stake his claim otherwise bring Roigard in!

Yeah, I thought NZ were something better than 40-60, the bench reduced our chances in my mind although the way it panned out, the bench really paid off!( ALB and SW). I don’t think we would have the luxury of not using two of our subs against the Boks though.

I would be uneasy if they repeated the mistake of 2007 and had key players in the stands; what I was talking about was introducing a couple of the fringe players from the bench so that those key guys could have full tanks should they get to the final.
I suppose there is no perfect way of doing that since they seem to be sticking with Christie and Papalii-those two will need some minutes too. The chances of Roigard and Blackadder/Jacobson appearing on the team sheet now may have gone up in smoke.

COMPLETE RWC SF teams: Poms make three changes as Boks name most capped XV, ABs' QF hero starts for Cheika's Pumas

I fear Foster missed a trick not mixing a couple more players in and tweaking the bench. He is asking a lot of Retallick, Cane, Barrett, Frizzell and Savea in particular. Makes sense to swap the two big locks but what about those others that played the full 83?

I hate the thought of Owen Farell winning the Cup he is the most loathsome captain in the tournament.
That’s very harsh and very personal. Do you know him or are you basing that statement on the fact that WR is like a parent that lets its child run amok because the don’t set clear ground rules and then stick to them?

I was proud of our government’s approach.
We only had about 15 ICU beds (cost $1M per annum to run) free in the entire country.
Had we not locked down there would have been a lot of deaths.
