Unfortunately it’s a straight commercial decision. The women’s game needs to be supported to get it’s own revenue stream. As much as it looks underfunded, it’s probably still subsidised by the men’s game. The product is good – all three of my sons now play rugby and the oldest 2 come to watch games with me and like the women’s game (we support black ferns) at least as much as the men’s. They can understand the plays and breakdown better plus the crowds are not just a bunch of boring old boys who grumble rather than cheer. We’ll be going to watch the games for the WXV comp when they come to Auckland and hope others do as that’s how it will grow.

Cattle class-flying Wallaroos blow up at RA's double standards, question big money Suaalii move

They opened up a new pathway for citizenship for Kiwis in Australia which makes more sense so Quade can’t be a martyr any more. Actually in fairness I quite like Quade now, has a bit of zen to him. Also in protest of the stupid booing of him.

Reds sign TWO All Blacks props - and one of them could play for the Wallabies next year

Hodgman is a bit of a coup for the reds. Good honest worker, decent in the loose and still young. If he’s good enough it would be cool to see him represent Australia. Great for him and his family for a new opportunity too.

Poor bugger, especially on a home tournament. He’s got still got a solid career ahead but was really looking forward to seeing his influence on France against the ABs especially. Shame we don’t get to see him play in this tournament

He’s a very good player. Looking forward to him getting more game time in 10 or 5 in combination with Perofeta after Barret has gone next season at the blues. Hell of a mudflap on him too.

Fun exercise and I’d find it hard to disagree. Maybe Savea in for Wilson but no wrong answer there. I am horribly, horribly biased but I think this team would be pretty handy against any World 15 across the professional era. Also I’d take Ben Smith even if Cullen was available.

Which All Blacks side would win: 1995 or 2015?

Greatly enjoyed watching my first game of women’s rugby. I watched with my 8 year old son and it was much easier to follow than the men’s game. Everyone was so polite to the ref too! He’s already remembered his favourite players (Fluhler and Tui). Just looking online for tickets now…

I like him because he can run really fast and he plays for the teams I support. That’s about it.

All Blacks make six changes, RTS returns via bench, Foster aims to counter Wallabies' 'combative' game

WALLABIES TEAM: Trio return for first TRC action, Philip missing and Tupou still sidelined

Well said Jacko. This kind of game is where Akira gets to do his thing. I’m glad someone pointed out how those injuries affected our D in particular. Was going to take my 10yo and 8yo to the game but don’t think I would have the fortitude for it. Regardless, go the Blues!

Really putting the “loose” back into “loose forwards”

Nope, didn’t say that. Perhaps you should search for Drama elsewhere. As they have always done this team tends to target certain games on the EOYT. Last year it was Ireland and France, this year English and probably Wales. There have been only injury enforced changes in these selections recently but the EOYT tour has always about trying other combinations as backups.

All Blacks Bledisloe Cup team: Changes to pack with Sotutu and Retallick called up to rattle Wallabies

Predictable, respectful team for the Wallabies as we try to find some consistency. I don’t think this team would surprise anyone although if we win I expect there will be some tweaks for the return game at Eden park. The ABs aren’t dependable enough at the moment for experimentation and goodness knows Foster needs some wins. Front liners will run out of puff on the EOYT tour but we aren’t playing Ireland or France so makes sense. Shame the Wallabies have been hammered with injuries, I’d usually say it would be a tough night for them but who know with this ABs team ????‍♂️ I’m really looking forward to seeing Hoskins Sotutu having a good run.

I enjoy these articles a lot, thanks for sharing. From a lay perspective it looked to me like the ABs were meeting a league style defence with league style passing which obviously has a better hit rate. I think your comments on the Schmidt-style ring true but my guess is he is building the foundations and the flair will come more when he gets to know the players’ strengths. I don’t think he will be limited to the Irish style here for too long. Don’t forget who effectively shut down that style at the last world cup…

Coach's corner: 'The sheer intensity of his personality will dominate' - how All Blacks' new coaching dynamic will work

I can dig it. For the lack of brain farts especially.

Seven All Blacks, six Boks and just one Wallaby and Puma make our TRC team of the tournament so far

Man, what a game from that ABs but cant we make those tweaks within a game rather that week to week? Hopefully a matter of the coaching setup / leadership team gelling. Happy for Sam Cane to see some solid impact on the game. Maybe it’s the beer talking but do the officials really have that much of an impact?

REACTION: 'Desperation and clarity' - All Blacks roll out the heavy artillery as Cheika's Pumas 'suffer emotionally'

Long time listener, first time caller. I think we will have this coaching team through to the world cup regardless of the upcoming results. I’m ok with that as I think the coaching team will start pointing in the same direction with time together.
As for selection maybe Jordie bashing it up in midfield foreshadows a 2nd 5 switch and allows Will Jordan at fullback. I miss 2020 Sam Cane but he doesn’t seem to be coming back. Ardie to 7 and bring in a real #8. Cullen Grace is injured so Sotutu for mine. Scott Barret to captain as he did so well for the Crusaders. Sometimes I trick myself and think they are foxing but I just don’t think we have the dominant players (with leadership) that we used to. I’ll still support them regardless.
