Dropping him to play reggies at Wyong worked a treat for Robbo while he was at the Roosters. Latrell came back, put his head down & worked his butt off & played excellent in the NRL again… I don’t think Souths have the nads to drop him though

The Roosters managed him & his ego a whole lot better but at the end he was trying to throw his weight around which went down like a lead balloon with Uncle Nick

He’s long said he wants to retire from footy by age 30… it won’t surprise me at all if he throws in the towel well before then

As a staunch Rooster, I can’t say I’m not loving South’s demise, or that of Mitchell’s ????

The bitter rivalry between our Club’s dates back to BC, we all know that lol but Mitchell has earnt both our wrath & our disrespect with his grubby on field antics (smashing Manu’s face & stomping on Teddy’s belly before kneeing him in the head on Friday night) & also his yapping like a nuisance chihuahua off field…
Most folks think we are dirty bc “he left us” but I’m here to set that record straight…
He did NOT leave us, believe me when I say IF we wanted to keep him, we would have!
But that’s not the case.. We’d offered him 800K to stay at Centre, where he was arguably the best in the comp, but he’d started throwing his weight around & displaying that ego of his that’s the size of Uluru, insisting he should earn 1m & play fullback ????????♀️ which of course was never going to happen, especially while we have the best in the business in Teddy with us…
Robbo & Uncle Nick weren’t having a bar of Mitchell’s antics, called his bluff, removed the offer & told him to look elsewhere, even though he still had a year left on his contract… I knew at that point we were done with him & he’d never wear a Roosters jersey again… Politis is ruthless & when he’s done, he doesn’t change his mind, I’ve been around my Club long enough to know that there’s always more to the story than what the media report…
The fact is, Roosters didn’t want him or his ego & attitude anymore, we’d had enough!
Mitchell then took himself on tour with his media entourage following, like he was a rockstar ffs & he met with Tigers, Titans & Cowboys, all of whom didn’t want him either, after meeting with him…
3 more Club’s that could obviously see what we’d seen…
That should have told Souths all they needed to know about him really but Souths aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed & they fantasised about the success they’d have with Mitchell in their squad but even then, they only offered him 600K & a 12mth contract with performance based option to renew…
All us Roosters had a good laugh about that, he wanted a million from us & ended up at South’s for 400K less ????????
Bennett managed his ego for a while, way better than JD has done & initially Bennett said the fullback position was an experiment… It’s clear for all to see the experiment has failed!
Mitchell is not a fullback’s bootlace & he certainly hasn’t lived up to South’s expectations… Why they persist with it is anyone’s guess, or most likely, Big Sammy B was 100% truthful in his assessment of what’s going on at South’s & Mitchell IS getting special treatment & calling the shots!
Souths really should be filthy, he hasn’t played even one full season since arriving there, his on field performance is well below sub par, he’s overweight & unfit & his off field antics are well documented, from breaching covid rules to have a boys weekend getting pissed & playing with guns & dirt bikes, to naming himself the Taree Ferrari (more like the Taree 2Stroke), getting arrested with Wighton, skulling beers on stage with Luke Coombs before a crucial game, likewise out at 2am in Vegas, breaching NRL Code of Conduct speaking publicly about Leniu &;dropping F bombs in a live interview &;admitting he doesn’t care, the list goes on… And nearly all of it has gone unpunished!
THAT IS WHY PPL ARE
SO OFF HIM…
I mean seriously, when Mundine even makes sense with what he said about Latrell, you’ve got to ask WHY Latrell isn’t taking a good long hard look at himself?
He should be pulling his head in, he’s not on a cattle truck on his Taree farm anymore, you know?
But I’m sure that’s where he’d rather be right now…
I don’t think Latrell has the mental or emotional fortitude to go on with rugby league much longer & it won’t surprise me if he throws in the towel, he’s pretty much done that already if his performance on Friday night is anything to go by… He’s merely there for the money now & he’s laughing at Souths all the way to his bank!
IF only he was managed better at Souths, reigned in a bit & kept to task he could be the “superstar” that the media portrays him to be but right now he’s merely a shadow of himself & former playing days at The Roosters (maybe that’s the shadow South’s fans are constantly telling us about ????????) but he’ll keep telling you he’s all that & a bag of chips…????????♀️
