No, it was because he looked like a crazy, ‘holy man’. Like a ‘yogi’.

Why the Suns’ list will actually be better without Hugh Greenwood

pablocruz, you didn’t understand. I said, Hugh Greenwood is Noble’s Yogi Berra. As in, he does everything well. Not exceptionally – just, well. Which is a cut above the 80th percentile. He might not look like he does everything well. Like Yogi Berra, but in a different way, he looks ungainly. Yet, he does everything well. Noble can send him to every zone on the ground to fill a need. When a need arises in a game… expect Greenwood to be moved.

Why the Suns’ list will actually be better without Hugh Greenwood

When Yogi’s second manager, Casey Stengel was asked to identify the secret of his success, he said “I never play a game without my man,” by which he meant Berra. The Yankees’ catcher amassed 358 home runs and 1,430 RBIs and struck out only 414 times, feasting on the kinds of pitches that other hitters disdained.

Hugh Greenwood is David Noble’s Yogi Berra.

Why North Melbourne will not win the 2021 wooden spoon

Yes, we’re better off.

North Melbourne aren't as bad as you think

Granted Kick to Kick is right on the majority of points. Nonetheless, I take umbrage at his assurance in Gold Coast “tracking better” in their inaugural year who received a smashing 3 times in 7 games to Round 8 (bizarrely, they didn’t begin until Round 2, having byes in Round 1 and again in Round 9).
Round 2
Saturday, 2 April (6:40 pm) Gold Coast 7.10 (52) def. by Carlton 26.15 (171) The Gabba
Round 3
Saturday, 9 April (2:10 pm) Western Bulldogs 18.14 (122) def. Gold Coast 7.9 (51)
Round 4
Sunday, 17 April (2:10 pm) Gold Coast 9.15 (69) def. by Melbourne 23.21 (159) The Gabba
Round 5
Saturday, 23 April (2:40 pm) Port Adelaide 15.11 (101) def. by Gold Coast 15.14 (104)
Round 6
Sunday, 1 May (1:10 pm) Essendon 31.11 (197) def. Gold Coast 8.10 (58) Etihad
Round 7
Saturday, 7 May (7:10 pm) Gold Coast 18.16 (124) def. Brisbane Lions 17.14 (116) The
Round 8
Saturday, 14 May (2:40 pm) Adelaide 20.10 (130) def. Gold Coast 9.19 (73) AAMI
For sure, our percentage is dire (I’m a Kanga supporter); we’ve won no games; we can only point to player improvement. However, Gold Coast (even when winning 2 games by Round 8 of 2011) had a truly bad first up year (after Round 8 they would win one more game, against Richmond ironically, before going on to be smashed 2 mores times and heavily defeated 6 more times after that round of football).

“Tracked better” has a lot of truthiness to it – to do with the percentage I suppose. Would I swap our year for Gold Coast’s 2011? Hell no.
