Actually what Kent said was more along the lines of “who wants to watch this?” Have an opinion Paul but if you want to avoid mess like this try and keep your ego in check and DO NOT assume for everyone else.
Real footy fans loved it.
Jorge Taufua must explain his racism allegation against Paul Kent
I agree. Mead was great. Idris was clearly Gus Gould’s favourite even before he actually did anything.
[VIDEO] City vs Country: Rugby league live scores, blog, highlights
Dugan
Hayne
Jennings
Morris
Morris
Speed, power and most of all, all those players live in the roles selected except Hayne who can play anywhere and well. He’s a special player.
Daley's wingman are still up in the air
It felt as if teams were still adjusting to the new rules. A few dubious third man cannonballs didn’t help.
STEVE TURNER: Observations from NRL Round 1
Barba taunts people all day long on social media. Of course he is going to get bites and of course some of those are going to be stupid enough to use race.
Thaiday has sympathy for Barba racial abuser
I think there is going to be HUGE pressure on Ben Barba. Particularly with the broncos shocking form in the trial vs Warriors. Bronco fans are expecting 2012 Barba so anything less and they’ll be vocal.
STEVE TURNER: My pressure cooker players of 2014
SBW has had a few more off the field though.
Sam will be fine. I think you are underestimating how destructive he is when healthy.
Sam Burgess is no Sonny Bill Williams
I thought it was great. Loved watching it and seeing the event go well. Considering getting a crew for next year.
I do however believe that this should remain a 1 off preseason event, not become a travelling circus as the T20 is.
SMITHY: Are you REALLY ok with Nines rugby league?
I don’t think you know what the word “stalwart” means
Season preview: Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
Even us NRL diehards don’t read the Daily Telegraph. I’d advise you not to either. Especially if you are after honest and interesting content.
Then again, you seem happy to sling mud and grandstand… so perhaps you should apply for that apparently vacant Union writers role. Oh wait.. the 17 people in Sydney interested in Union already read you here.
SPIRO: France defeat England with a brilliant 'le finish'
The fear is part of the excitement of playing. Imagine playing any sport without adrenaline helping you along.
Fear and motivation: Sunsets, injuries, and words of wisdom
The only point I would like to raise is that you rarely (never) get to see an AFL or Soccer player sprint a 80+ I am sure they are lightning but their pace is used to get in to a position or out of trouble and then it becomes a control and awareness situation.
Nothing beats seeing a Rugby or League player going through the line and sprinting for length of the field tries.
Also the body shapes in the Rugby codes are many and varied. There aren’t any tanks in AFL or soccer… So due to that I would say League/Rugby
AFL, NRL or A-League: Which has the better atheletes?
I think people need to get over the eligibility criteria here. It is an exhibition event and as such we want the best players available. My wife holds dual passports and citizenship through family just like many of the players. Why hold a sport/game to higher standards than real life? It isn’t like people are randomly selected.
Sorry but the Rugby League World Cup is a farce
Hi,
NRL doesn’t care at all
Thanks.
Franklin's Sydney move will make waves across the codes
Loved the entire game. We enjoy it because it isn’t as structured as the NRL. Unfortunately this type of play would get murdered against NRL style.
Queensland Cup grand final a breath of fresh air
Christo – Do you condone spying? or gatecrashing parties?
Journalists should allow players Mad Monday privacy
Kent likes to say whatever will get the biggest reaction. He doesn’t really know the sport at all. Just look at his comments over this year.
Criticism of NRL relative to AFL distant to the truth
When can we expect the Tracy Grimjaw exclusive with an ex player who once left the lid seat up on a Mad Monday?
Journalists should allow players Mad Monday privacy
I can see it now. Clubs having Mad Monday in the cleaners room with all no windows and cops at each end of the hallway. The slug journos would still try and weasel their way on to a story about a broken mop or a sink getting called a bucket.
Media were not invited.. If I crash a party and get verbally abused in the process of being told to leave do you think I would complain to the landlord?
Time for John Grant to show who is boss
Ol Maxxy boy doesn’t think too much of Toovey does he?
Mad Max Delmege bags Hasler in a Facebook farce
Gould and CO already try and do this. The sad thing is they get as many wrong as the twits in pink.
Look to Channel Nine to fix the video refereeing fiasco
I think Bird is a huge loss. Beau Scott just doesn’t fill his boots. Doesn’t have the workload, versatility or impact that Bird does. He is tough though.
