first, I really enjoy reading your pieces, even if I dont always agree.
I just want to add that using the Cardinals tactics as a blueprint to stop the Cowboys rushing game is hardly possible for most Teams because most teams dont have such a talented secondary like the Cardinals. Players like Peterson Cromartie or Mathieu can handle even top receivers on their own while lesser defensive backs might need help. The Presence of Dez Bryant and Jason Witten prevents most teams from committing too much defenders against the run. They dont want their defensive backs 1 on 1 against a guy like Bryant. the Cardinals secondary is a big part of their success.
I’m not sure if the Cowboys will reallly miss the playoffs. A lot will depend on how the Cards and Eagles deal with the Injuries to Palmer and Foles.
I think that if the Cowboys Defense keeps playing reasonably well they could make it.

absolutely agree. If a player meets the Criteria to represent either Queensland or NSW he should be able to play for them, even if he represents a country other than Australia.

What about the bills then. the last time they made the Playoffs was in 1999, will they never come good again as well.
Please stop talking such nonsense that the Raiders will never come good again. nobody knows when or if the Raiders will be in the Playoffs. The 49ers were a hopeless team and turned it around. With smart managment the raiders can achieve the same. The Raiders Managemant has been the worst in the NFL, the only explanation for the Carson Palmer Trade is that someone mixed up Palmer and Peyton Manning. But the Raiders have a new General Manager since 2012, so I hope those ridiculous trades dont happen again. If the Raiders rebuild through the Draft from now on then I hope they could return to the Playoffs.

Agree that they need a good coach. But I actually dont think that even a good coach could be much better with the current roster. The Raiders have to rebuild the team via the draft and I think this years draft was a good start. Carr looks like he could be the Quarterback of the Future.
If they get the No 1 Pick it would be madness to select Mariota as long as Carr continues to play well, instead they should trade down with a team like the Rams or the Bucs who need a new Quarterback. They need as much draft picks as they can get

Then I disagree that the Raiders are the worst team in the nfl. I dont think they are worse than Tampa, Tennessee or the Jaguars.
they only lost by 3 to the hyped chargers and by 7 to the Patriots and their worst loss was a 24 loss to the Dolphins. Tampa Bay lost 56-14 to the Falcons. But if I look at the remaining games I agree that 0-16 is a real possibility. this is a tough schedule.
Also i think you are a bit harsh on the management. I dont understand all this salary cap stuff but the raiders are still suffering from incredibly bad decisions from previous years.
The Problem is that there is simply not enough talent on the Raiders Roster at the moment. therefore I can understand the free agent signings in the offseason.
The positive so far this season is that Derek Carr looks like he could be the longterm Quarterback. He has been much better than the other rookie Quarterbacks this season. And Khalil Mack also looks like a very good player.

this replay stuff works fine for the nfl because it´s a stop start game. In the nrl it would just interrupt the flow of the game and lead to a lot of interruptions. Channel 9 would love it, they could sneak in more ads.

Some of these knock on calls like that penalty for sbw are really 50/50 calls, there would always be people who complain about the decisions.
How the NRL can learn from the NFL
The Cards are a pretty good team, they were 10-6 last year in the nfls toughest division and would´ve made the playoffs in any other division than the afc west.
If they stay healthy especially on defense and the 49ers dont improve they will be in the playoffs.
As for the 49ers they need Bowman back as early as possible and hope that he is still the same after that horror injury.

I think Tedesco for so much money was a very risky gamble. They should rather try cronin or ahearn at fullback and use the money on other positions.

That wont be a problem for brady. In the 2nd half of the Indy Game the Balls were properly inflated and the Patriots scored 28 points, so I dont think that will be a problem.
I read somewhere that Kam Chancellor is also questionable. If he and Thomas dont play the Seahawks will lose, if they play and are fit they will win.
Hopefully it will be a better game than last year.
