Totally agree on the mental health issue, being paid the big bucks you are expected to live up to it.
Physical attribute is just one factor at playing at the highest level of the toughest game on the planet that does not have much protective gear to go with it.
Trent Robinson spoke at length last year about the mental toughness it takes to keep performing at the highest level week in and week out to win a premiership, it is not easy.
As wayne Bennett stated last week all this pressure being heaped on this kid is unfair, I agree.
The NRL is littered with players with mental health & grog issues, let us not create any more .

Joseph Suaalii playing NRL before he turns 18 is literally a matter of life and death

The improvement in Dufty seems to also have coincided with an overall improvement and lifting in confidence of the Dragons team as a group.
The coaching set up that McGregor & Flanigan have established is working a treat. My only criticism is that Norman is a passenger.
What has impressed me is that he seems to have figured out why Tedesco is so successful and started trailing up field and getting off loads. It was a great game last night, better than I expected.

Rabbitohs keep finals push alive, but Matt Dufty confirms status as NRL's most improved

Andrew totally agree about this Sualli situation. I know that blokes like Ettinghausen played fist grade before they were 17 but he had come through the grades back then and had show that he was able to mix it with older & bigger men.
Johnson showed what he can do in last nights game and St George were pretty solid most of the night & he just carved them up on a couple of occasions.

Wayne Bennett says Souths are trying to re-sign Alex Johnston

BD I made a point recently that after the weekend I now know has to be the right way to go with it.
The bunker should be a replay function for the use of the on field referee and he alone.
It just shows him what he wants to check & he makes the decision.
Blind Freddy could see that the Dragons player grounded that ball and as for the captains challenge in the Titans / Panthers game how they came up with a knock on is beyond me?
Then the ludicrous obstruction ruling in the earlier game where the bloke supposedly obstructed had buckley’s chance of getting anywhere near the ball carrier just left me flummoxed beyond belief.

Eight talking points from NRL Round 11

Scott. point 9 : If the Warriors are looking for a coach may I suggest they may have found the man they are looking for.
Despite the fact that Robbo gave the Roosters a 4 day break and they played like they were still on holidays, that was one of the most complete 80 minute displays by the Warriors for some time and their defence was hugely improved along with their completion rates.

Nuh!! Robbo gave them a 4 day break from training, admitted he made a mistake, it seems they were actually thriving on the intensity they were under. I would not want to be the Titans next weekend.

Eight talking points from NRL Round 11

Woody, agree we miss Radley but the issue at the weekend had nothing to do with mid season wobbles as our scribe states. Simple fact of a coaching miscalculation and it was refreshing to see a coach actually put his hand up and state that it was his stuff up. Robbo gave them a 4 day lay off because of the tough games they had in recent weeks especially last week against the Raiders. It would appear that the team was thriving on the intensity more so than he thought.
I might also add that if the Warriors are looking for a new coach I would suggest they have found him Payton seems to be working miracles under exceptionally difficult circumstances.

Eight talking points from NRL Round 11

yes I would have because we cannot as you state “pretend” that every club is highly scrutinized by the NRL these days and pretending that the Roosters do not manage their salary cap well is just sour grapes.
This thing about salary cap is just excuses as it is how you manage that salary cap and your roster that matters.
The reality is that there is a complete and highly competitive list of ex Roosters players right around the NRL and all playing well so please spare me the violins in regard to Teddy Cronk & Keary who all wanted to play for the club. Kronk’s father played for the Roosters.
