2Q 10:00 29-20 – Klay bricks another jumper but Bogut gets the miss. More static play results in a Bogut post up and an ugly miss.

Gasol works in the paint and flips up a nice lay-up.

2Q 11:00 27-20 – The game has really bogged down offensively and that has to benefit Memphis. Koufus gets a nice feed from Udrih on the break after another Warriors turnover.

Udrih then goes coast to coast for a contested lay-up. Warriors call TO.

They are not moving the ball and it is sticking when the defence rotates. Livingston won’t be as effective with his post up play against Memphis and that will hurt them. How long before Curry is forced to insert Curry back in even if his shooting has been off?

End 1Q – 23-20 – The Grizzlies finish with a 4-0 run in the last minute as the Warriors look out of sorts. Their shots aren’t falling (9-23 overall & 1-7 from deep) and they have been making too many errors. I’m sure Steve Kerr will be giving them a blast right now.

Memphis have looked okay. They aren’t a great offensive team but they are getting their looks. Z-Bo is forcing it a bit down low trying to out-muscle the Warriors bigs. They should be happy to be up 4 but I’m sure grabbing rebounds will be a top priority going forward.

1Q 1:00 19-20 – Curry throws the ball away, he is not having a great series under all this defensive pressure. The Warriors second unit now comes in and Speights knocks down a jumper to tie it back up. A Grizzlies miss on the other end results in a foul on Speights. They are in the penalty and he goes 1/2 from the line.

1Q 2:00 19-17 – Festivus Ezili is in and misses a close one after a great Curry drive. Z-Bo again muscles his way in to the paint but can’t get the roll off the rim.

Jeff Green holds the ball and has to launch a fadeaway 3 that is cleaned up by Koufus and put back in. Grizz with the lead.

1Q 3:21 17-17 – Both teams missing a few shots as Conley drive can’t go and Z-Bo’s can’t bully his way in after grabbing the miss. Curry then bricks another 3 (0-3 so far). Gasol then scores on the other end to force a Warriors TO.

Memphis playing three guards (Conley, Lee & Allen) with Ga-Z-Bo and it seems to be one of their stronger line-ups.

1Q 4:00 15-17 – Conley nails a 3 to tie it up but Bogut gets position on a Green miss to put the ball back in the Warriors hoop.

1Q 5:00 12-15 – Z-Bo goes to work on Bogut and pulls off a lovely spin move for the score but Barnes gets it back for the Warriors. It’s becoming a score fest in the Grind House.

Tony Allen set to check back into the game. His Defensive Win Share for the Playoffs is miles above any other player. Will he continue to shut down Klay?

1Q 6:00 8-13 – Memphis not getting easy offence and the Warriors are running the break. Another missed 3 from Curry results in a Barnes rebound and an easy put back. The Black Falcon strikes!!

Memphis call TO to sort this one out.

1Q 8:00 8-7 – Memphis look to be going hard early at Green and Bogut, Z-Bo muscles his way close and gets the friendly roll. Gasol gets fouled under the basket and knocks down both.

Warriors just missing open shots early.

1Q 9:00 4-7 – After an airball three from Klay, the next possession he dribbles up to the three point line and swishes a 3. He needed that for his confidence.

1Q 10:00 4-4 – Grizz have come back with a Lee dunk and a Z-Bo post up. Flowing game so far with lots of passing.

Good Morning Sports Fans and welcome to The Roar’s coverage of Game 3 of the WC Semi Finals between the Warriors and the Grizzlies. Should be a cracking contest between a great offensive team and a grind it out defensive one.

Grab your mum and sit her down for what should be a no inch given battle for Western Conference supremacy.

Who does everyone have in this contest?

I know it’s posted on a comedy website but I love this piece on March Madness and why it’s a total sham. I don’t blame players for leaving after a year and abandoning the college game when they are exploited for the gain of others.

I think someone at Grantland or ESPN recently wrote a piece recently about the NBA being a slave to the college game instead of investing in their own feeder league like the D League. Like you said, it’s almost not the same game sometimes.

Can March Madness save college basketball?

Just in the NBA alone you could add Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, Chris Webber and Brandon Roy to that list.

Also I assume you are talking about a different Michael Jordan to the greatest NBA player ever when you refer to code hopping?

Derrick Rose: Another sporting career ruined by injuries?

Not in the least. I think his game style has a lot to do with his injuries and he has done nothing to address the issue.

Derrick Rose is injured again and I'm not surprised

Thanks Steve,

He is a very unique player in the way he places his body in danger. I would like to see him back but with a different approach, possibly one not resembling a hyperactive rugby player.

I love a good F1 livery and the past few seasons have been a bit disappointing apart from the Williams Martini revival. It seems every team has listened to a market research company about which colours symbolise what and then picked all the same thing.

I miss the days when every team had their own identity and weren’t afraid of a bit of colour. Loved the orange Arrows, yellow Jordans, the blue/yellow Renaults, mutli coloured Bennetons and the stunning green Jags with gold wheels.

Too much watching Scott Brooks deal with late game situations has to take it’s toll.

Or maybe it’s the arrival of Dion Waiters, LeBron is certainly happier since he left.
