You have to build from within and you have to be patient and you have to invest in young people.

That is precisely what the Rebels and Force are about.

The problem has been that very bad decisions have been made by RA damaging the ability of these sides to develop.

Australian has the complication of AFL and NRL, consuming a massive part of the sporting market.
Why doesn’t NZ have the worlds best Rugby League team?
Answer, who cares, yes but it is because it has a limited place in the sporting market if NZ.

Rugby needs to keep the talent it has in the schools, develop that talent and grow its market.

Rugby in Aus survives despite the administrators, not because of them.

Poaching NZ coaches won't solve the Wallabies' woes - the real solution is a lot less sexy

Jack,
There may be 300,000 but they mostly live off the Tax paid by your fellow Australians not from a real economy.
The Wallabies you claim mostly came from NSW or QLD, like the ACT economy you are living off others hard work.
That’s why a combined outfit playing out of Melb makes so much sense.

The Wrap: Code Orange as looming Rebels decision places rugby pathways at risk

It’s easy to predict what RA will do – RA will do what is best for the individuals in the offices of RA,
They have for the last 30 plus years.
To place tha ACT over VIC is just so obviously idiotic that it will be clear to RA what to do.
Send cash to the politicians paradise and leave VIC to starve to death.
Why would you want to be in Australia’s largest city?

The Wrap: Code Orange as looming Rebels decision places rugby pathways at risk

This is the result of years of incompetence and arrogance from RA.
How and why did RA employ Ms Castle, how did they negotiate the “deal” to leave fox and get paid very little. This spiral of failure feeds itself.
Look at the Board. Does anyone see them really turning this around?
But who cares, everybody at the top of RA got a good trip to France.

Leaked document says RA out to 'destroy Super Rugby' and 'turn members against each other' as Rebels' pain comes to light

putting the Eddie Jones disaster behind them

Please. RWC 2023 was not just EJ’s disaster, RA own this shambles more than EJ.
Years of incompetence, arrogance and denial.
They now have about 12 months to turn this around.

'Fire in a lot of players’ bellies': Bruiser claims 'bittersweet' John Eales Medal, says RWC pain will 'motivate' Wallabies

We have no debt … except for the debt.

We have an assurance from RA.

That sounds like …
The coach has the full support of the Board.

Welcome the Melbourne Brumbies,

Brumbies shut down talk of following Rebels into voluntary administration

Hilarious.
Never too early to start the sack the coach chant.
Yeah – Tah’s hopeless won’t win a game all season.

Rebels put aside off-field drama to deliver Super Rugby 'statement' win over Tahs as recruits stand up

Hard to believe the result is true.
Most of QLD spent the second half of 2023 telling us all just how hopeless Donaldson was.

Force edge Reds at Ballymore after Harry Potter double as fit-again Wallaby stars

I’d like to think we can improve

Didn’t get out of the Pool.
Now ranked 9th.

Does he think it can get worse?

'Not expecting miracles': Schmidt tempers Wallabies hopes as coach outlines No.1 priority

The Stan coverage is just so ordinary. Paying for the privilege of a very poor service.
Rugby in Aus seems to do everything it can to get people not to watch.

SRP trial teams: Tahs, Rebels name big guns, Reds lose O'Connor as Donno starts for Force

It just makes me so sad to once again see incompetent administration destroying Rugby yet again.

Now we have one last chance to save the long term future of Rugby, but we still seem to see the same parochial squabbles.

Rugby Australia is back where they hoped they would never return - and their next move could make or break the game

It seems that you don’t see him as the saviour of rugby in Aus?

Rugby News: Quade thinks Wallabies days are over, tug-of-war looms in Aussie rugby over talent, Boks snap up gun Kiwi coach

We need to roll the Burmbies into the Rebels and have them play out of Melb.
Not even people from the ACT really want to be there.

Rebels told they will play Super Rugby in 2024 but future on shaky ground as voluntary administration looms

Yes, but it was only a good sledge for about 14 days.

Rugby News: Petaia weighs up NRL, NFL options as Reds contract winds down, All Black confirms 'f--kwit' sledge

Paul,
Not sure if that works.
Or are you suggesting that with JS we will get someone who has no idea what is going on, reads short speeches from the teleprompter whilst there is domestic and international chaos on the filed?

COMMENT: In trading Greatest Showman for 'boring' and 'pragmatic' Sleepy Joe, RA gambling with game's future

I am not going to defend McClown.
But hadn’t NSW agreed to hand over control to RA but QLD would not.
Isn’t NSW committed to centralisation?
I know one of the common themes here is bash NSW but aren’t they on the right side of this now?

COMMENT: In trading Greatest Showman for 'boring' and 'pragmatic' Sleepy Joe, RA gambling with game's future

Wasn’t the current situation created out of QLD?

COMMENT: In trading Greatest Showman for 'boring' and 'pragmatic' Sleepy Joe, RA gambling with game's future

Welcome to the new year and to the new millennium.
In 1987 we could have looked at NZ but now it is SA, Ireland and France that make the most of their talent.
NZ are yesterdays heroes.

COMMENT: Rugby Australia given wake-up call by All Blacks ... AGAIN

If we want to look to learn from other nations, let’s look at the successful one’s.
Not the country the regularly underperforms at RWC.

COMMENT: Rugby Australia given wake-up call by All Blacks ... AGAIN

Could not agree more that the troubles are plentiful.
But letting such a talent go for not a lot of $ seems to be a little short sighted.

Roosters offer 'something I couldn't knock back': Marquee Mark reveals why he's joining the Bondi bunch

You may have noticed that defence was not something I mentioned. Yes, that can be improved.

Roosters offer 'something I couldn't knock back': Marquee Mark reveals why he's joining the Bondi bunch

I guess you did not watch him in the under 20 Wallabies.

Roosters offer 'something I couldn't knock back': Marquee Mark reveals why he's joining the Bondi bunch

Sorry but that is just wrong.
He was by a very clear margin the best Australian outside back at RWC.
Solid performances at all levels of rugby for years, great in the air, great ability to make post contact meters, great ability to off load, and ability to score tries.
Really looked like being one of the few wallabies that could be real top world class international players.
Agree, 10 has been an issue for years but there are now good young 10’s on the horizon.
Rugby has become a clown show that’s sad not funny.

Roosters offer 'something I couldn't knock back': Marquee Mark reveals why he's joining the Bondi bunch

Given the choice between Phil Waugh and Marky Mark, I’d take MM.
This is one of the greatest disasters for RA in years.
Whist there still is some professional rugby in Aus time for the whole board and PW to go.
Maybe I should just watch the Roosters and NRL like most of the 20 somethings who played rugby at school now do.
A whole generation lost as Rugby fans but hey … you all got a really good junket to France.

'We don’t hold any grudges': Why Wallabies star will still be picked in 2024 despite NRL defection

Just hard to try to stay interested in Rugby.
RA have destroyed this once great code.
RA and the Tah’s have shelled out big $ for a possibly good rugby player and list an actually good player.
So now we can see why QLD needed to take over RA – to weaken the Tah’s.
