Being born down the road of Upton Park, I am a West Ham tragic. Living in Sydney now for the last 40 odd years.

Of the eight games up until Christmas, West Ham should get at least 16 points.
Stoke a
Aston Villa h
Everton a
Newcastle h
WBA a
Swansea h
Sunderland a
Leicester h
Bit much to hope that we would win them all, still do that and West Ham would be safe before Christmas. Happy Days!!

West Ham are making their own luck

Would have to agree with Bob. Looking from this stage of the season, those three teams are the least organized in defense. (QPR, Burnley, Sunderland). All are just to easy to get in behind.

Of the teams that came up Leicester were the most organized in their structual play, They generally keep their shape well. The step up, in class to the EPL has found them wanting at times. A shrewd couple of purchases in January should see them safe.
Villa have got the players to see them safe. An attitude adjustment should see them string enough wins together.

I’m not sure Moyes would want to take on a survival project at Sunderland though.

Burnley are gone, but who will join them in the Championship?

Reading your first two paragraphs Evan, I would swear you were writing about myself.

Our family comes from Ilford. (about 3 or 4 miles from Upton Park). Naturally we are all West Ham through & through. My uncle however moved his family to north London, where he could cheekily grin at his Arsenals results against our Hammers.
God how I hated the Arse during the early seventies. Your father would remember the byline of those years “1-0 to the Arse.”

I did see Australia beat Arsenal in 1977 3-1, which gave me great fodder for my Uncle, and of course the 1980 FA Cup final was just the best. Sadly I have never been able to see West Ham play. I was over in England in 1986 with work, and my one and only chance of seeing the boys in action came to naught as work intervened, and I was called back early.

I have hopes of trying to get over to the UK next season to watch a game at the famous Boleyn ground before the move to the Olympic Stadium, though I suspect it will eventually be at our new ground that I will see them play.

What do you think about the move Evan? Good or bad for West Ham.

Personally, with emotion aside I think it will be good for the club.

For the love of the game: My football story
