Big Bash League must change before expanding
They will not go back to state BB. The new Big Bash isn’t doing as bad as people think it is. CA will lose heaps of money going back to the old Big Bash. They better bot go back to the old BBL I have already bought a Strikers cap and guernsey!
Sixers prevail in Sydney BBL derby
That would be the most stupidst thing to change their names to the Adelaide Redbacks, Mekbourne Bushrangers etc. So then if someone asked me who I go for in cricket I would say the Adelaide Redbacks and South Australia Redbacks I would look a little silly. Also if your going to call a team the Adelaide Redbacks you migh aswell keep the South Australia Redbacks in the Big Bash. Get over it there not going to change the names and colours. When they created the BBL they didn’t want the city based teams having their traditional state colours. Although I think they should change the Sydney Thunder’s name to the Western Sydney Thunder and East Sydney Sixers.
Big Bash League must change before expanding
Have you actually been to a BBL match there are people that take BBL seriously
How serious is the Big Bash?
This article has to be in contention for worst article of the year
Time for a new cricket format
Is that article meant to be a joke. Twenty20 isn’t doing that bad if you compare it to Ryobi Cup and Shiled crowds. Perth, Adelaide, Hobart and Brisbane are all getting in good crowds for the Big Bash League. Melbourne’s crowds are ok and Sydney’s crowds are bad because both teams are losing. Twenty20 is way more popular then one day cricket and if one format is to go it will be fifty over cricket.
Time for a new cricket format
On a positive note for the BBL it has been great to see my team the Adelaide Strikers to be getting sell out crowds for all of their game so far. Hobart are also oing well with their crowds. Now that the Chritmas period is over the crowds should pick up. Not sure how the Sydney crowds will go because as usual they always get low sporting crowds and both teams are losing
The Big Bash is as fake as Kim Kardashian
South Australia were the ones who produced Lyon. Yes I know Lyon is from the ACT but SA gave him the oppurtunity and developed him into a top cricketer.
Sheffield Shield graduates deserve their Test chance
Third Rate comp. Not so sure about that. Your calling players like Hussey, Pollard, Gayle, Malinga, Finch, Marsh third rate players?
Also if BBL is going to have a structure of a normal league it is going to have to run from October to March and that would never happen. About you calling the league fake it will take time for people to really start getting into their teams and showing passion for their teams. They couldn’t give Brisbane maroon because they didn’t want it to be like the old State Big Bash. I think the Brisbane Heat is actually a pretty good name and the teal goes well aswell. Remember the comp has only been going for two seasons.
Cricket continues to discover itself
Great article. It is always good to hear the players views on the game.
Moises Henriques delivers his thoughts in chance meeting
I think for the test matches to get bigger crowds simply they have to lower the ticket prices. People go to T20 because it is very cheap, entertaing, exciting, and only goes for 3 hours
Cricket continues to discover itself
Looking forward to the match will be a beauty. I like the tactic of opening up Murali against Ponting will be a great battle. As a Strikers fan not reallly concerned about who wins but would preferably like to see the Renegades get over the line due to them having 3 ex South Aussies/Strikers
Renegades consider Murali to open attack
Soccer will always most probably be the most passionate sport but Football (AFL) will always be the most popular
A-League: Passion in football
I agree with you on Nathan Lyon he has the potential to become a good future captain. Not to sure about Cummins and Starc though
Who will replace Clarke when he retires?
I have always liked the soccer but this is my first ever season seriosuly following it. I have already been to three Adelaide United games and will be going to some more. I’m really enjoying the A League this season, it has been great so far
A-League: Passion in football
Im not wishing Clarke into retirement, just thinking about the future
Who will replace Clarke when he retires?
No Galekovic or Vidosic even though I’m an United fan they should definetly be in the side
My A-League All Star team to face Manchester United
I am very worried about the Thunders crowd for the upcoming game against the Strikers. I am a Strikers fan and hope they defaet the Thunder next Thursday but if the Strikers win the Thunder crowds are going to get even worse which would be terrible for the BBL so I have mixed feelings about the Thunder V Strikers match. On the other hand it was good to see the Strikers get a sell out crowd, Perth only got 4k against the Stars because it was on a school night and there was a lot of rain before the match. I’m a bit concerned about the crowd size tonight between the Stars and Hurricanes though because I have heard there has been rain around Melbourne today. I am sure the T20 novelty is not wearing off the Strikers V Heat game was a classic and the crowd was really getting into. Crowds have only been low due to poor weather, poor scheduling and fans who only go if there team is winning. To all Thunder fans please to get to your team matches otherwise the BBL could turn into a massive flop.
Renegades plunder Thunder as fans stay away from BBL
This would be an absolute joke if they bring in East V West I would show 0% interest and there would also be 0% passion shown.
East vs West AFL All Star game will not work
Correction Hurley only kicked one goal and yes Talia is eligible for the Rising Star Award
Talia does it again for the Adelaide Crows
Well it is good to see KP wants to play all 3 forms of the game
Kevin Pietesen's dramatic 'unretirement'
Had a great Christmas and happy new year to you to!
