Choco for some reason – Boards do not like him. He is too eccentric. That said he is like Federer – he delivers. Boards prefer a Buckley – good in media but can’t coach, never won a flag.

Carlton’s problems clearly start at the Board level. Maybe Teague could have been the right coach with the right support. Longmire brought in Pike – Pike changed the Swans.. Goodie brought in Choco…

Carlton members should clean out their Board.

Ross Lyon has 'pulled out of race for Carlton job,' Brad Scott a contender

Teague is a spud, a nice spud but nonetheless a spud. If Clarko wants the job it should be his… Carlton would be top 4 next year with Clarko..

If Teague wants to keep his job, Carlton simply must beat the Suns

Any criticism of Fagan is comical. Clarko, love him or hate him is the best coach of the modern era. Likely still the best coach in the comp today. Not sure where Clarko lands but I am confident that the Hawks will not beat that team for years… even if it is Gold Coast.. Kennett is the one that needs to go.. he is a shocker.. all about his ego that man..

Fagan criticises Hawks over Clarkson exit

Did a little check, Clarko will not leave Melbourne. Mat is not moving…

CONFIRMED: Clarkson departing Hawks early

Ok, think you’re being cheeky … we all love Tassie, but no one wants to live there.. Tassie population is proof that New Zealanders can swim…

CONFIRMED: Clarkson departing Hawks early

You have to give it to Caroline Wilson, she is tougher than nails, stands her ground against the boys club. They all love attacking her when they see a weakness. Trumps again, her stand on Essendon was fascinating I thought at the time pilloried day and night for months.

CONFIRMED: Clarkson departing Hawks early

I think Clarko’s family would move anywhere to support him, they are all as obsessed with football as he is… it is a Clarko call. Love to know where he ends up, as he is one of the few coaches I think could win a premiership at another club.

year 11 this year

CONFIRMED: Clarkson departing Hawks early

The fairest GF is Geelong v Bulldogs on the year’s performance. The Bont winning the Norm Smith in a losing side. The fairy tale is the Swans v Geelong – Geelong would be nervous and probably choke. The most unlikely is Port v Melbourne. I do not consider the 7 & 8 teams as contenders.

The 2021 AFL flag is down to just six contenders

Because of the sacrifices made in the 2020 draft. ie for 2021 essentially only one pick (Daicos) + a draft deficit for the 2022 draft.
The 2020 draftees have to be a real bolters just so Collingwood can break even in the long term.
The 2020 draft and trades were a huge gamble and tied up Collingwood at the draft for two years, it is why some say the Clarko’s of the world are not rushing for the job. The next two years combined with a salary cap hangover, no draft picks, are going to be super tough. That said from adversity comes brilliance and Hines is one of the best in the business.
So the 2020 draft crop has to 3 odd 200+ gamers.. you pick up another one this year…

Young Pies quietly shining bright in a dark season

Ski -season, not sure what the question is for Melbourne. Good snow = no Melbourne. They just start thinking about their family chalets. If the ski season extends into spring, confirm Melbourne is zero chance.

'Isn’t going to cut it in September': Melbourne losing form at the wrong time

I think Tom Hickey has single handled won more games this year than any on the list. He is almost the most important player in the swan’s structure. Tom McDonald has won Melb a few games, and likewise Zac Bailey.. I think they are top 3. Even Alir in the first several won Port a few games.. On Essendon players, yes plenty of promise, but a year ahead of yourself on them..

'Historically spectacular': The AFL's most improved players this season

Carlton v North Melbourne. Is the equivalent of watching two bald men fight over a comb. May the best bald man win!

Can Carlton overcome the loss of McKay to keep their season alive?

If swans win a flag before bulldogs you are correct. Look at tom boyd… no 1 draft pick.. played 2-3 good games, including the only game that mattered.. he was worth it..

The best player from last year's draft is not who you'd think

I think the list is almost a list of the most watchable players over the last 50 years, though have missed a few… I like everyone suck up the Carey is the greatest rubbish. It is said so many times people may actually believe it. Champion player but I would rate 5 + in front of him. Still not sure why Ablett senior, Buddy Lockett are not really considered one of the greatest of all time. You would walk over hot coals to see them play..

The best twelve Australian rules players I have seen in 50 years watching the game

Fingers crossed he transcends the boys club. Gotta keep fighting and never give up ..

The stage is perfectly set for Shaun Burgoyne's 400th game

Champion, 4 flags. Hope he stays in football post retirement.

The stage is perfectly set for Shaun Burgoyne's 400th game

The world will have returned to normal. That would be nice.

Each club's statistical finals probabilities with nine rounds to go

For whatever reason, the Swans seem to have Essendon’s measure.. usually good games..

Each club's statistical finals probabilities with nine rounds to go

Would I want Selwood on my team – 100% yes. Is Selwood an umpire manipulator and a bit of a grubby player – 100% yes. Suck it up Scott Selwood is who he is – and he has sucked you in as well.

"An icon of the game": Scott demands more respect for Joel Selwood

I flew over to that game, against Port. I was sitting in the outer with my Mum. Never forget it. I was literally the only swan supporter for what felt like 100’s of meters. There were a few in the members on the other side of the ground. Everyone was friendly laughing at me until the game started – Swans were meant to lose by a 100 that day. I knew it, they knew it… Then the Goodes show rolled on… first the supporters around me watched it silently unfold, then abuse at Goodes and Fosdike (ex Adelaide I think) , and then they started turning on there team.. game felt over at half time. I had to take my Swans gear off to get out of the ground safely.. it was ugly.

Thinking about Goodes

Pendles is the “class” in Collingwood. Never write off a champion. Plenty in the tank.

More Collingwood carnage, no easy answers after Buckley's departure

Good article, you can get caught up in the minutia of the article. The reality is based on list age – Carlton is one of the oldest lists in the competition, Carlton should have made the 8 this year. This is based on all sorts of data and recruiting and even their media department in Jan Feb 2021. I am not sure what is wrong with Carlton, probably many small things – but it clearly stinks.

Carlton are this century's saddest football club and it's not even close

Saving the current Board.

Buckley stepping down as Collingwood coach

Buckley was sacked, they said they would not renew him next year. Buckley has brought it forward to make it mutual & to spend more time with his new flame. Players are exploring their options as he is a bit two-faced for many. Collingwood had no choice – it also staves off Board renewal.
