Saving the current Board.

Buckley stepping down as Collingwood coach

Buckley was sacked, they said they would not renew him next year. Buckley has brought it forward to make it mutual & to spend more time with his new flame. Players are exploring their options as he is a bit two-faced for many. Collingwood had no choice – it also staves off Board renewal.

Fan bloody tastic…

Matt Rowell set to make long-awaited Suns return

Nearly all posts on the article give us cause we are heading in the right direction. Incredibly positive read. Made my day.

Adam Goodes turns down place in Australian Football Hall of Fame

Nogard Australia is the main one, he has several stakes in various. But he is starting to crop up everywhere.. .. he is becoming prolific.. see also CEO & Director at Indigenous Defence & Infrastructure Consortium – his contacts within Govt are exemplary.

My issue with Carlton. It feels like the team has more talent than its results indicate. North Melbourne / Hawthorn – it is not a coaching issue – it is a cattle issue. Whereas Carlton has some bloody good cattle… At the start of the year after recruiting I thought top 8 and maybe win a final. Now they are aiming for draft pick No 4. Something is amiss. Of teh few games seen Eddie Betts probably their oldest player seems a key, a livewire.. passionate.. making something out of nothing…

Is it time to stick a fork in the Blues?

On a positive. Adam is doing a magnificent job as a business leader. Thriving, from what I can see – we use one of his businesses to recruit. Adam, I imagine in several years will be in the top 100 wealthiest the way he is going. Nothing like beating the boys club at their own game. Love to see that.

Smart decision by the blues. Something is amiss in there… they do appear to have plenty of talent… and the games won v talent seems disproportional. If they fix it all other teams will miss the trademark hit out against them, where you get to play any standard of football and the blues play hard enough to let you win by 22 points.. a week off or an extra bye playing Carlton.

Blues launch external footy department review

It is interesting. The Carlton and Collingwood fans generally want to keep their coach – whereas objectively fans of other clubs think they are hopeless coaches. Buckley is a complete spud – from where I sit, (media savant exception) and Teague is probably a worse coach than Buckley. Time will tell.. extremely confident neither will even win a flag as coaches.

Pressure mounting on Teague as finals slip from Carlton's reach

Yes, but what we need now is Collingwood to beat Melbourne this weekend. Melbourne is waiting to be defeated… and any side could step up. If Collingwood does it, they hopefully re-sign Buckley which will be gold for all non-Collingwood supporters.

A revolt ten black and white years in the making

QED

A revolt ten black and white years in the making

Caro Wilson has nothing to do with the Collingwood debacle. That is deflecting. Collingwood fans keep playing the man and not the ball.

A revolt ten black and white years in the making

I would add in Teague… Buckley if based on performance will be sacked this year. Teague would go if Carlton can find a decent named coach… Cameron might be an end of year decision. Ratten is safe, Dew and Simpson likewise. Clarkson will be allowed to make his own decision, or it will present to the media that way.

How are coaches performing at the midway mark of the season?

As along as both agree to sign Buckley and keep him for another 3-5 years, either of them work for me.

Magpies board slams planned takeover

Martin, a bit light at present. Bont, Petracca, Oliver, Darling, Mills, Moore, Wines & you always want the showman… just one of Buddy, Pickett, Papley, Betts & Ryan..

The one player each AFL club should poach after Round 11

Callum Nills, McCluggage, Jack Darling – just a few that have been putting on pretty good shows for 2021. Maybe the writer only watches the games between Vic teams.

Lessons from the AFL at the mid-point of the 2021 season

Instead of all Collingwood articles, a good one would be on Carlton 2022. 2021 is essentially over… and prima facie the Carlton team is riddled with talent… how comes Carlton breaks down year after year… with Cripps – Carlton should be able to win a premiership.. these types of players are rare..

Extended NSW stay set to galvanise Carlton

The writer of mindhunters on netflix – grew up in Adelaide. He put them together so the main character in series is Holden Ford. Of course, it is about serial killers – which genesis is Adelaide, had to twist it for the Americans… Holden Ford can come together in unusual circumstances..

Political uncertainty and a lack of vision at Collingwood

Nothing can galvanise Carlton from what I have seen. Teague has to be worst case for words v actions. We want to see 3-4 games in a row where Carlton show grit, fight to the end, win 2 or games against teams higher on the ladder.

Dreamtime at... Optus? AFL announces big change for marquee match

Good for the game if you are right, but too many false dawns from Melbourne for me to commit. I would rate Port a better chance than Melbourne which is not logical on year performance to date. I think Melbourne only convince me when holding the cup. Doggies are the real deal, regardless of the result this weekend.

Western Bulldogs and Melbourne a clash to savour

Still not convinced of Melbourne, maybe their history has infiltrated my objectiveness. I think when the rubber hits the road in finals Melbourne will falter. Bulldogs and Geelong look like they have finals games.

The AFL system is a boys club – the tribunal makes examples out of no-name players and then finds reasons to let Barry Hall, Trent Cotchin, Dangerfield etc get off. That is why the system stinks. Joel Selwood would not have been cited for what happened on the weekend… Doing a deep analysis on a play by play basis is irrelevant… it is who the AFL can sacrifice to send a message..

Nick Holman's tackle puts AFL's relationship with head knocks on notice

I think your too close to be rational. I enjoyed watching team-led teams – including the Collingwood 2010 win, have a review and look at each individual in the 2010 Collingwood team. Google them. Match them up against today’s team. Half of the 2010 team would not get a game with Bucks.. the difference is leadership, the difference in club management. Malthouse at that time was brilliant at getting the best out of his players and playing a game plan to adapt to each player’s strengths. And you have not answered the question, finals are not a target it is flags. Collingwood could make finals next year even win a flag with a new good coach.. that is because no one today actually knows how good Collingwood is under the poor leadership of the current administration. The articles are all being written because Collingwood needs fundamental change at a management level – everyone but you it appears to know there is something systemically wrong at the club – I would love to see Darcy Moore win a flag and believe he is a player capable of taking a team all the way… he is a generational player currently being squandered… Grundy – Collingwood is wasting his best years… I will leave it to you to keep chipping it around in the backline.. maybe it will work out for you.

The case against reappointing Nathan Buckley

Hi Peter, No secret camera’s just players talking. That will play out end of year. Bucks has favorites – one was Treloar – look how Bucks treated him.. Bucks rang Treloar to try and make good. Bucks has never rung Hertier and tried to make good… Collingwood white Australia policy kicking back in… ?? This year they get to draft one brilliant player.. maybe a second in free agency? Is that enough with Pendles and Sidebottom aging? When do you think they will be a flag option?
