At least one person has commented on the fact the game was so stop and start that it was more like a game of American Football ( gridiron). If World Rugby is serious about improving the game as a spectacle then do something about the constant stoppages. We all know they are mostly fake and a tactic to disrupt the Opponents game plan and to rest the big forwards

UK VIEW: 'Utter heartbreak' for 'brilliant, cunning, courageous' Poms in WC semi 'undeservedly' won by Boks

I never thought I would be barracking so hard for The Boks ever again after the last WCs game against England. But the lead up to this Semi Final made it very easy because my respect for the England team and , in particular, their supporters has gone out the window. I had the misfortune of attending a Premier League soccer game in England some years ago and was forced to leave before half time due to the crowd’s behaviour and threat of violence. It appears from my personal experience that this attitude is sneaking into rugby. Good natured ribbing and sledging has always been a part of interaction between rugby fans and there’s never been the need to even think of separating them at venues. But what I’ve witnessed there may be a need to in the future.
I was over the moon to see the Boks win and to win the way they did…… great result

Good, the Bad, the Eddie: Bok hails AB for 'best display I've ever seen', Kolbe confounds, 'classless' Rieko claim

I find it bewildering if not amusing that some people get their knickers in a knot over a song sang at a rugby match. I’m sure thousands of English spectators decide during the excitement of a game that they want to offend black people by singing Sweet Chariot. Or that the Irish decide to make a political statement about The Troubles. Seriously….

Good, the Bad, the Eddie: Bok hails AB for 'best display I've ever seen', Kolbe confounds, 'classless' Rieko claim

Ive been saying for sometime now. You can spend millions on traing a Draught Horse but it will never win tje Melbourne Cup.
Sure, you can take big keen prop and make him a better scrummager but you can’t make him a fleet footed smart rugby thinker like Tim Horan or Dan Carter.
The reality of Australian rugby at this stage is that there isn’t enough natural talent to make up a world class team ….. accept it

The uncomfortable truth: Whether under Rennie or Jones, the Wallabies just aren't good enough

Given this is the first WC where we haven’t got a settled starting 23, will the ‘second stringers’ get a run other than at training? Or will IFL, Kemeny, Schoupp etc just otherwise carry the bags ?
Every game is now vital to get the right combinations so even Portugal is important in that regards so Eddie can’t really be Mr Nice Guy and reward those guys with a game. I remember talking to Dave Knox years ago who was privately bitter about not getting a run at the WC.
So the game against France is indeed interesting. Does he start his top 23 or continue to experiment with who actually is that 23. A fit Gleeson certainly needs a chance.

Predicted Wallabies 23 for RWC opener: Front row tweak, bag handler to finisher, what to expect from Georgia

I may have missed it if already raised in a post. But an effective captain needs to be on the field for the full 80 minutes bar injury. Skelton will always get replaced after perhaps 50 minutes so then Tate takes over. But as we have seen now for some time in SR and tests the 9 gets replaced as well. So who is the captain for the last 30-20 minutes, probably the most crucial part of the game?
Has Eddie thought about this ?
So, who out of the 7 players not replaced each game will consistently play every game for 80 minutes ?
I’d say Kellaway, Valentini and perhaps Kerevi…… so this leaves Kellaway the obvious choice as captain. He is smart, has a good rugby brain and been around long enough to be respected by the team

Shock and raw: New skipper, rookies galore and Test careers brutally ended as Eddie's RWC bombshells CONFIRMED

I don’t care about what comments this post creates but Vunivalu cheapens the jumper let alone at a RWC. What message does his selection bring to the players who have performed throughout SR ?
It’s been raised by many on this forum, what in the hell is going on for him to be selected?

A great player and a great ambassador for the game. But all players, especially the greats, must know when to call it quits rather than let their game decline with age and then be forced to retire.
As the old saying goes “ You are only as good as your last game “. Sadly that is how younger people will remember you.

'You have no control over some things': Hoops' bleak prophecy that played out in ruthless Eddie call - and what comes next

I’ve done some basic maths, it appears our box kicks result in a positive outcome about 10% of the time for the Wallabies. I’d pay money to be able to ask Eddie why it is a tactic

Wallabies player ratings: Halves taught Bledisloe Cup lesson as star prop steps up

Yes JD Kiwi, I read your article and meant to respond but time slipped by. Last nights game deflated me so much my wife told me to “ get over it, it’s just a game”. But rugby, like so many on this forum, has been the centre of my entire life. I’ve played and coached not just in Aussie but Canada and the US. I was on the Australian Schoolboys Rugby committee for 11 years, skied with mates of Topo Rodrigues in Argentina in 1989, watched the Reds play The Jaguares in 2020 in Buenos Aries and attended 2 RWCs. The Wallabies were an immense source of pride for me and even when they got beaten they played well and with pride. I was thinking that the few years after 2003 were just a rebuilding stage and came to fruition in 2015. But since then I started to have doubts. The last 3 games were almost too much for me to watch.
We are definitely on the bottom rungs of the Tier one ladder, if not, Tier Two beckons

All Blacks smash Wallabies to seal Bledisloe AGAIN as Eddie's pain grows after devastating injury to star prop

Those of us who clearly remember the glory days, the golden era of Aussie rugby in the 80s- early 2000s have been spoilt and therefore developed unrealistic expectations. We are no longer a rugby powerhouse. I haven’t been able to accept it but now we are in the same league as Wales, Scotland and Argentina, still tier one but struggle for a rare win against the big guns. I see the likes of Fiji being a serious threat to us in the WC. The reasons for our demise is well discussed on this and various forums so there’s no need to elaborate. Given the talent available we were developing as a reasonable team under Rennie but Jones is a joke and is somewhat to blame for our complete failure. But to be fare, you can’t build a solid house with poor materials.

All Blacks smash Wallabies to seal Bledisloe AGAIN as Eddie's pain grows after devastating injury to star prop

I’m well on record in this forum saying Rennie was dumped on disgracefully simply because of the game against Italy even though the Wallabies went within 1-2 points of beating the worlds 2 top teams on the same tour.
So Eddie gets flogged 2 out of 3 games and beaten by Argentina….. hhhmmm , any talk about bringing back Rennie who must be loving big talking Eddie’s failures

'Cardinal sins' the Wallabies have highlighted they must fix to stand a chance in Bledisloe Cup

Oh come on! Vunivalu is still in the squad !!! Surely the other players must seriously question this selection as much as every other rugby fan, not just Wallaby supporters, do ?

'Fancy ourselves against New Zealand': Eddie excited for 'highlight' of year, says Bledisloe result won't define RWC

Eddie talks more spin and BS than most politicians. But he is right, we will eventually have a win, it will be against Portugal in the RWC. It will lots of cheesy grins and boastful, “ I told ya mate, eh mate that we would pull it together for the WC”

'Fancy ourselves against New Zealand': Eddie excited for 'highlight' of year, says Bledisloe result won't define RWC

He went to school at Barker College, the same school that has produced a number of Wallabies and SR players. The schools First XV also flogged the QLD GPS winners Nudgee last year.

'Look out': Eddie puts All Blacks on notice despite 'broken car' Wallabies' loss to Argentina

At last someone else speaks the truth of the matter. Rennie had a successful November tour , yes I repeat, a successful tour where we only got beaten at the bell by a point or two by the worlds top 2 teams and came back to beat Wales at their home. Proof he was building a very competitive side. But because of a hiccup against Italy he gets sacked. He must be laughing at EJ and RA big time now
