Sure did! He had some shockers in the in goal but was in the better half of players

If Zac Lomax has the exact same game at fullback you could rest assured he wouldn’t be the headline

We need to be better than this

Latrell underwhelms on return but Lomax underlines Origin case as Dragons defeat sodden Souths

Latrell is the only player in the competition who can score 2 tries and and set up 1 (in team that scored 3 tries) and still be the headline for underwhelming

You expect that from Murdoch media but not from The Roar. Sick of this circus

Latrell underwhelms on return but Lomax underlines Origin case as Dragons defeat sodden Souths

Do you have an alert set up for Latrell or what mate?

You’re up the top of yesterday’s article saying ‘people from a certain ethnicity can’t see his elbow’

At least this comment masks your actual motivations a bit better

Latrell cops lengthy ban for high elbow hit on Johnson as Souths coach laments 'stupid' acts

Yeah nice mate. Love to have this kind of comment on the roar front page

'I don't know what goes through Latrell's mind': Mitchell on report twice as Wahs dominate sorry Souths

Honestly, what are they thinking with talk of putting a roof on this stadium

Just move the stands closer and be done with it

Imagine 80k at an Origin here with a proper setup for league and the rain pooring down. As good as it gets

Young send-off 'over the top', Radley sin-bin 'ridiculous' says Robbo as Roosters reduced to 11 on nightmare night

I didn’t say that.

I said that a lot of players on Souths are not performing also, but they haven’t had 300 articles written about them

People want to hate Latrell, it sells. But he comes to my country town regularly and is legit the nicest footballer you’d ever meet. We’ve had other NRL players come and get smashed and kicked out of the pubs, which is fine. But Latrell always says g’day to everyone, and often you’ll see him kicking the footy around with the kids on the oval.

If that’s the type of player we want to run out of the game, our priorities are all wrong.

Latrell's not walking the walk after talking the talk: Souths should be worried after star goes missing against Roosters

‘His Cause is much more important than footy’

This is ridiculous.

A black man got called a monkey in the NRLs biggest international game ever 3 weeks ago. Latrell responded by saying that he should be suspended, which he was

Completely ridiculous to suggest he doesn’t care about his footy. They’ve played 3 away games and haven’t clicked yet. That’s not Latrells fault. I was at the game last night and he was Souths most dangerous player, more so than Cody or Murray.

So why is Latrell singled out? The guys already had a pile on from the media in the last week. Why join it?

Some of the stuff said at the game last night was completely not on. Don’t fuel it

Latrell's not walking the walk after talking the talk: Souths should be worried after star goes missing against Roosters

The fact the author of this article liked this comment pretty much sums up where The Roar is at.

Latrell was one of Souths better players last night. I can’t think of any other fullback who would cop this much criticism in a 48-6 loss

Wake up to yourselves. Dunno how you can sleep at night joining in the pile on for what is very clearly not football reasons

How can you guys have so much confidence in your own opinions when you can’t read

Demetriou has 'no doubt' he can turn around Souths after disaster derby sees Latrell binned in Roosters riot

I was at the game tonight. I’m not a Souths fan but idk about the whole Latrell situation. Some of the stuff from the crowd was borderline

Rugby league is a game that has welcomed indigenous players as part of our soul like no other sport in Australia has. Booing an opposition player you don’t like is fine but some stuff tonight crossed the line into unsavoury for me

Anyway the Roosters look great and can see them having a big year

Demetriou has 'no doubt' he can turn around Souths after disaster derby sees Latrell binned in Roosters riot

I’d also add to that that we’re back in the era of Halfbacks being the key playmaker, which I think is a good thing

There was a lot of middling Halfbacks a decade or so ago but now the top teams all have the best. Cleary, Reynolds, Johnson, etc

The evolution of the hooker in rugby league taking a backward step - creativity drops as workload increases

Great article. A nice break from the tabloid stuff

Interesting that it is one of the few roles that has become less developed playmaking wise.

I wonder if it’s because some of the changes that have sped the game up have emphasised a need for a dummy half who can sure up the middle in defence, and just give quick ball

Harry Grant is proof though that a dummy half who can get out quick and ball play is still extremely valuable

Latrell seems to cop a lot of hate in The Roar comments

He’s a ripper dude though, have met him a few times up North and just a genuine good country kid

Not sure when it became the norm that blokes who run around for 80 minutes trying to belt each other are then disgraceful for swearing after the match

'I don't care if I'm swearing': Latrell set to escape NRL sanctions despite foul-mouthed radio interview

Lol I know everyone is different but I find it very hard to believe you were watching the Roosters with 10 to go in round 1 about to pay your membership and then held off because a player playing his first game for the club was reported. Just seems unlikely and also a strange thing to decide whether to get a membership based on

'It would be great to see the Jets in the big league': Albo throws weight behind Newtown in the NRL

Explain to me how saying ‘it would be nice’ for the only reserve grade team that consistently gets 10k to a game to be in the NRL is out of touch

'It would be great to see the Jets in the big league': Albo throws weight behind Newtown in the NRL

Yeah I’m honestly shocked by the amount of people who do not get the Spirt of the Game thing.

Cricket is just that, a game. The fact there are rules that are rarely applied is actually a beautiful thing. It shows that there’s a culture and love of the game that binds us to it and is the reason we play it

Will it work ongoing? Judging by all the nerds on twitter etc, maybe not. But I hope it does

How many modes of dismissal are there? Too many - the precious ‘spirit of cricket’ tarnished by outdated, unnecessary laws

Honestly… When I saw those three reds come up yesterday I was shocked… It definitely looked down leg from the footage

Not much you can do about it though, if the technology says it’s smashing the leg stump then that’s what we have to go with. Could have just been a combination of optical illusions

Despite consternation over brittle batting line-up, Australia don't need to blow up team after Windies upset

Yeah I agree. I think they should just pool ICC funds to support a competitive minimum payment for a 15 man roster for each Test playing nation

Test players on the yearly contracts and then T20 can do the seperate renegade thing

Day-night Tests make dollars and sense but India’s reluctance means pink ball snookered by red

I get the concerns, but Test Cricket in Australia is really healthy.

This was meant to be the worst summer ever and all 4 matches have had record crowds against the opponent, and the GABBA crowd is apparently nearly sold out for Aus Day too

Then the next two summers are India and England

'Brazen shamelessness': Pies savaged as video showing new facilities exposes inconvenient truth

Why’s this a big deal?

Literally ALL women’s sport is using facilities built for the men’s team. The MCG wouldn’t be the MCG without the men’s game, the infrastructure wouldn’t be there, finances

This is one of the instances where you can’t be too critical when 0.02% if it goes back the other way

'Brazen shamelessness': Pies savaged as video showing new facilities exposes inconvenient truth

I think it’s what gets the clicks in 2024
But yeah, so much negativity on The Roar the last 6 months or so. We’re World Test and ODI champions and if you browsed through the articles you’d think we were ranked 8th
Even today, the pitch is doing a lot and the West Indies bowled really well.
This isn’t a 2007-2019 summer where you’re gonna see 3/500 every match. The Kookaburra seam is much more pronounced since 2022 and centuries are now rare special innings again (like Head’s today)
