Living in London where I have no local rugby team now bar Barnes u12 Girls, but my heart resides with Warringah, Wallabies and the Waratahs. Oh, and the NSW and Australian cricket teams

They were undoubtedly good but the Tahs lacked intent. That first scrum a good indicator. The scrum was largely even Stevens after the first one but we went backwards on our feed and it cost 7 easy points. Just mentally not switched on

Tahs hammered by Hurricanes as finals hopes hang by a thread

I only just caught it. High quality stuff. One regular player with this sort of stuff

Jason Gilmore. The guy many are pushing to replace DC. Our defence off set piece was laughably passive. They were making 20m without confronting a defender

Filthy performance in the first 20 when the game was on the line. Simply awful

Tahs hammered by Hurricanes as finals hopes hang by a thread

We’ve only had one really poor performance this year. I don’t expect them to get hammered

Yeah. But that’s who is open with

T20 World Cup: Marsh named captain, Smith and Fraser-McGurk miss out

I’d open with Short and Head given they’ve left out JFM. Can’t see a spot for Warner on form.

T20 World Cup: Marsh named captain, Smith and Fraser-McGurk miss out

I would have taken only one of Green or Stoinis and brought JFM in with the slot created.

Starc ahead of Johnson as the left arm wicket taker is understandable. Hard to justify on Starc’s form but Johnson hasn’t exactly been ripping up trees

Ah. So Izzy was dropped but now in. Got it

Super Rugby Pacific teams round 11: Harrison in for Edmed, Lynagh, White out, Rebels change entire front row

And I’d challenge every one of those. The Dude’s point is valid

Excellent point

He also spoke of how difficult that was to fix but then mentioned how he might help.
“I don’t necessarily have the answer [to solve those issues] but I’ve had some experiences where teams haven’t quite nailed those big moments and trying to build a mindset where you can stay process-driven through those periods [is critical].” issues] but I’ve had some experiences where teams haven’t quite nailed those big moments and trying to build a mindset where you can stay process-driven through those periods [is critical].”
He’s modest and sensible. He has great experience at test level. I feel 100% better about the future than I did last year at this time with Eddie in the seat.

Lynagh is coming off a rest and was very good last week. Hard to fathom if he’s not injured

Super Rugby Pacific teams round 11: Harrison in for Edmed, Lynagh, White out, Rebels change entire front row

What has happened to Holloway and Perese? Both injured? Any inkling about how serious?

Super Rugby Pacific teams round 11: Harrison in for Edmed, Lynagh, White out, Rebels change entire front row

I think that’s simplistic. The Kiwi front rowers recruited by the Reds have both missed games through injury so there’s not some magic juice you during after you’ve played a test and passed 30 that stops you getting hurt

Tahs have 9 out of 10 contracted front rowers injured. So, they recruited but have been unlucky.

No Australian SR team can have enough internationals on their roster to cover that many injuries

DC hasn’t been afraid to cut guys not performing. I was surprised to hear him say last week that Holloway end Gleeson were on the bench because he wanted more out of them. So, dropped.

Unfortunately, he has been forced to play youngsters and club players in the front row due to injuries and that’s been a killer.

His judgement re club front rowers has been good if Heaven is anything to go by though

He doesn’t often miss tackles when making them in open field but he has failed to get far enough off the line to prevent bigger guys going through him numerous times.

A confidence thing? Better coaching to drill into him to use his pace to move toward the attacker?

He was picked in a WC squad though. That was done presumably with an eye towards him playing tests but I didn’t say he had.
He went to France ahead of Wright and with the same injury return date as Ikitau. So, promoted ahead of his performances

I agree re Harrison.
I can recall him playing 15 twice and he was bad both times. We can’t conflate his skills that look fullbacky to him playing at fullback.
He’s not in great form generally, I’d have thought he needed to play well in his best position rather than move him to accommodate resting somebody

Whilst I may have the belly, I suspect the neck and legs lack the size and power required

He looked panicked and made mistakes last week. He’s another good young 10 not yet ready to play tests. He needs to get some starts though so happy to see the change

I rate Lachie very much but I doubt he can make that switch by Saturday

The biggest problem with Jorgo is that his old man was a Randwick mate of Jones and his WC spot was guaranteed. Thus promoted way before it was deserved, we created a rod for our backs when his agent came knocking.

Fine young player who could possibly earn some test jumpers. Let’s hope he pays back the gifts rugby has bestowed upon him
