The one rule is like changed to create unpredictability is around seven tackle sets. I think if you’ve kicked it from inside the 20m or it’s a knock on by the attacking team in goal it should be a 6 tackle set. If it’s kicked from outside the 20m and goes dead a 7 tackle set. That will encourage attacking kicks near the line but disincentive teams from just kicking it dead deliberately so they can have a set defensive line at the change of possession. Could even make it so it’s just kicks from inside the 10m but either way at the moment teams would rather die with the ball then grubber or chip into the in-goal
NRL holds tight on rules - but adds one tweak to promote 'unpredictability of the game'
I’d have gone with spaffed
NRL Round 1 predicted teams: Gold Coast Titans - Hasler must pick between Jayden or AJ to turn fortunes around
Where does this leave them in the Power Rankings?
Smart Signings: Latrell and Wighton could be great together - but Souths are far from the finished article
Yes! Crisitunity! You’re right
Smart Signings: Fonua-Blake is leaving the Warriors - but it might open a path for them to get even better
Great stuff! I’ve been waiting for this. Now you need to get an interview with Brian Mac, he’s always a chatterbox…

Fans should get a refund: Refereeing de-Klein shows how far NRL's gone backwards since golden age of officials
Do you think Cam Murray and Angus Crichton could be earning the same money if they weren’t playing footie?
Enough is enough: It’s high time NRL held offending players accountable for their off-field actions
How can you possibly say with certainty that they’re earning “a lot more money than they could ever earn outside the game.” You’ve got no idea about what they could or would have achieved if they hadn’t played footie. I bet you wouldn’t make the same comment about Cam Murray or Angus Crichton so why say it about these two fellas?

Lee Briers, he played over 400 games for Warrington. Good player but playing for Warrington meant he didn’t win much 😂 Was playing at the same time as some other quality halves so didn’t get the international recognition for England/GB but played for Wales. Has a reputation as a bit of a party guy so look out for him on Caxton Street with Alfie
Round 1 Predicted Teams - Broncos: Walsh in doubt after suffering facial fracture
Don’t need to imagine, Leeds had Kevin Sinfield and Danny McGuire in the same team and you saw what they managed

Though definitely agree about Savage. It upsets me that they call him the X-Man and not the Macho Man…
Stickyball: How do Canberra actually try to win rugby league matches?
Good analysis though you didn’t mention Hudson Young who provides a point of difference for them in attack. Also the loss of Hodgson and an unsettled spine didn’t help them click in attack until the end of the year. Also I think you’re wrong about Corey Harawira-Naera, he’s got a bit more about him than a 7/10 plodder. I wonder if next year they’ll go with Whitehead at 13 and CHN on the right edge? I think that would give them a bit more strike on the edge and Whitehead could definitely do the job Elliot’s been doing for them

Not sure how much you’ll be able to read into Cowboys vs Sharks two days after Origin (for the second time this season for the Cows)
NRL Power Rankings: Cowboys, Souths, Sharks up, even worse news for Tigers and Titans
How about you get an 18th player but you can only activate them if you “deactivate” one of the original 17 players and they can’t come back on. So that way if someone is injured and out of the game you still have 17 players to interchange between
NRL can reduce concussion headache by expanding the number of interchange players - with a retro twist
