Stuart, I do not condone violence in any form. I see that on this thread you do not like being misquoted. Accordingly, please do not misquote me.

Assuming that you will abide by my request (consistent with your own requests) I do not need to make assumptions regarding your “political and social views”. To the contrary, you hang yourself on your own petard with some of the articles that you have posted. which, on any analysis evidence that you are Guardian reading, card carrying progressive, who, like all progressives cloak your opinions in the cover all quest for celebration of diversity, equity and inclusion on the basis that same is ‘fair and just’ when all it does is further cleave an already divided society along lines of subjective identity.

Stick to the football (your articles are generally pretty good) and leave the preaching about DEI etc out of your articles. We get enough of that drivel on the ABC and it is boring, tedious and sanctimonious.

Stuart, I, in no way condone violence, and I agree that the RBB always seem to be at the centre of some issue or another. Regardless, I am with Rookie in that you do like to preach and push your progressive values on this forum Enough with pushing your subjective and progressive ideology. Just cover the football. I, for one, am not interested in lectures on lefty topics du jour

A great career that could have been a brilliant career. Shame that he is not coming back to the A league

Rogic calls time on career as Socceroos and Celtic great opens up on family battles

Postecoglou loves Celtic. He is a brilliant fit for them and them for him. That said, I have no doubt that the lure of Celtic for the time being is the potential for him to make a big statement in Europe. For mine, he has one – maybe two seasons – left in Scotland and he will use Celtic’s domestic domination as a stepping stone to make that statement and then move on to the EPL with a team that competes in Europe, or on the cusp of competing in Europe. He is a champion coach and any team would be lucky to have him. He will not go to a team of also rans.

Scotland is conquered, time for Postecoglou to move on, but does a Premier League team have the guts?

Mike, there are parallels in this Australian team with the Irish under Jack Charlton at Italia 90. His was a team with many more stars than the current Socceroos team, but Charlton, like Arnold, harnessed grit, high press, brotherhood and the simple joy of his players being on the biggest stage to galvanise the Irish nation behind his team. Charlton, like Arnold, had many critics for what were pretty agricultural tactics – particularly given the players available to him – (he did not take Liam Brady to the tournament). Regardless, what a trip that was, and what a trip this is.
