Absolutely nailed it re Warner , he needs to be replaced or it will cost us big time. In a series in which the 2 teams are so closely matched, you can’t carry a player.

Turning a blind eye to Warner’s woes proving costly for Aussies - as McDonald sticks his head in sand yet again

31 is not too old these days but Is he any better than Voges or S Marsh?
I am hoping someone preferably a bit younger than these guys puts their hand up for a spot. Maybe Maddison. But if that doesn’t happen then you have to reward performance irrespective of age.

Should selectors have one final look at Ferguson?

Interestingly the last time England played Australia in a ODI at Headingly was 2005.

Hopefully Maxwell and Finch are able to utilise that local knowledge. We’ll miss the steady medium pace of Watson and Faulkner on this type of pitch.

Aussies relying on local knowledge for fourth ODI

No issues with the m preparing pitches to suit, we need to be good enough to win in all conditions.

We’ll return the favour when they visit – fast bouncy tracks

Anderson encourages future pitch-doctoring following England's Ashes success

You make sense Zim Zam.
There’s quite a few getting obsessed with speed gun speeds.
I didn’t see many uncomfortable English batsmen the other night as a result of this frightening pace onslaught.
In the end it’s results that count

Pattinson's excess pace puts him in Test contention

Aranasan,
If Carlisle decides that he wants to go to Carlton then he can get there via the PSD as the Blues have the first pick.

Carlisle and his manager will probably do the right thing by Essendon and agree to a trade however if the Bombers demand too much (which they are notorious for doing) then he may go to the PSD.

Carlisle quits AFL's Bombers

I don’t think the Poms have been calibrating their speed guns properly.Suddenly everyone is bowling 5 km faster!!!
The batsmen didn’t seem that rushed when I was watching.

Pattinson's excess pace puts him in Test contention

Its been suggested that he may find his way to the Blue’s via the preseason draft meaning the Bombers get nothing.
Karma for all the headaches they have given other teams over previous trade periods

Carlisle quits AFL's Bombers

Well done Watto, just a pity his body didn’t allow him to reach his full potential as a bowler.

Shane Watson retires from Test cricket

Boomer playing!!! Classic.
He wants that games record off Tucky, and is known for his love of the dollar-probably doesn’t want to miss out on his match payments.

North Melbourne has the right to take a competitive advantage

As much as some people want Watson gone from all forms of the game his ODI record-40 with strike rate 90 and 168 wickets is outstanding. His form over the last 12 months has been solid.
Still too good to be left out of the National ODI team

Watson helps bowl Australia to ODI victory

Will teams go back to two ruckmen now???

AFL scrap the substitute rule

Thanks North from a Tiger man.

No tanking issue’s it’s called team management.

The AFL should have denied Kangaroos' request to rest players

Cant feel sorry for the Lions. They targeted other clubs out of contract players last year – Beams/Collingwood and Christensen/Geelong.

The AFLwill continue to bankroll them. They need to do the hard yards and build via the draft.

Rockliff fearing another player exodus from Lions

Last chance I would think for Bailey.
2 years ago he was absolutely killing it in the shorter forms. He has declined rapidly.
The next generation- Lynn, Maddinson, Head, Khawaja must be rewarded if they continue to perform.

Not retired, resting: George Bailey wants to play T20 World Cup

Keep the coin toss. Tradition is important.

Could cricket scrap the coin toss?

It looks good on paper Nudge, no love for Starc?

If we were to ever go for an all out pace attack like that you’d nearly have to pick Faulkner (instead of a batsman) to perform the grunt work.

Pat Cummins ready for Poms after run-up tweak

Good team of the seasom.

I’d have Easton Wood (for Murphy) and Dustin martin (for Boyd).

AFL Team of the Round: Round 22

The Stoinis selection for T20 ahead of Lynn is very strange. I think Maddinson is still injured but as stated he’d also be a better choice.

You can’t get too much out of a T20 form anyway re longer forms of the game. To my way of thinking T20 selection should be based on form/record in domestic T20 games.

Australia's disrespect for T20 continues with Stoinis' selection

No one likes to hear these sort of comments on Instagram-Disgraceful.

The thing is though when public people use Instagram facebook etc.. they leave themselves open to all sorts of nutters and hurtful comments.

Dempsey blasts online racial abuse after Instagram attack

Good to see Cummins healthy again. I’m a little surprised it’s taken him this long to workout these run up issue’s. Isn’t the run up the first link in the chain.

Pat Cummins ready for Poms after run-up tweak

I recorded this game and wasn’t going to watch it after hearing we lost but decided to have a quick look gee we let this one slip had it wrapped up until Maxwell was unlucky to hold out in the deep.
NCN and Cummins looked good. Think we’ll see a fair bit of NCN 2015/16 in the National team.

England defeat Australia in tight Twenty20

He’ll never have the control of a Mcgrath or Harris but if he can just manage to get more deliveries in the corridor of uncertainty he’ll be a force to be reckoned with in Test cricket
.Plenty to be excited about with his combination of pace, swing and height.

Is Mitchell Starc a Test bowler?

Zampa has very good variety- the flipper and wrong un both in his repertoire. And as others have said a very promising batman.
I’d prefer him over Boyce definitely in the shorter format.

Boyce and Agar: Australia's T20 wildcards

Thanks PPV. I didn’t think he’d opened too often in FC games. Going back through his FC career I’d actually forgotten that he first played for NSW. Memory is waning with age.
