Thanks for the comment Cattery, appreciate you taking the time to read that.
You’re being quite generous with Solorzano and Hernandez there. Hernandez is very much an old style trequartista, but the best False Nines are more versatile with better movement off the ball. Yeah go ahead and throw Totti back in my face, but the best false nines; Van Persie, Messi and Rooney started their careers out-wide or up-front, never in ‘the hole’.
Solorzano possesses the attributes to become one the best strikers in the A-League; he’s fast, strong, decent in the air, clinical, phenomenal off the ball, good first touch, but again, it is doubtful whether he has the creative skills, vision or even temperament to fulfill a False Nine role. I’m astonished he hasn’t been handed a start as the No 9 yet, given how well he has performed off the bench.

Cheers for the input TomC
I think Fabio has been solid on the left, certainly he’s not been a liability.
Depends on the type of midfield Durakovic wants. Victory didn’t recruit any decent passers, so its clear they want their double pivot to be defensive.
Thanks again

Sydney FC 0-2 Brisbane Roar: Match analysis
Coyne was at defensive mid against Victory, moved to right back against Brisbane. Sorry for the typo. Kisel was in the centre of midfield. Undoubtedly players switched areas during the game, but that was his nominal position.
Thanks for the comment Chill

Well undoubtedly the backroom is suffering from sacking Culina on the eve of the season. Just think long term mate, you’ve got money and rising attendance.

Well I’ll take you up on the agree to disagree.
Ruka yes, cause he’s had a full season under his belt in promotion campaign for Hertha Berlin
Leckie no, cause he hasn’t. I’m not a fan of the whole give a few good performances, have a cap. You need to demonstrate ability consistently.
And thanks for that compliment, appreciate it. I’ve got more stuff at passandmovetactics.blogspot.com
Australia's progress under Osieck
Did not know that. Thanks Tristan. Do you upload them with the article?
Australia's progress under Osieck
Thanks for the comment Griffo, and taking the time to read
Well like i say in the article, Burns and Ruka haven’t felt any love from Holger in the media. Ruka even gave an interview in 442 where he was wondering why he was of contention. This is different from how he’s treated Kewell, Emerton and even McDonald, who have always been stringently defended by Osieck in the media
Pim sucked. Using a high press with slow defenders like Neill and Moore was suicidal.

Thanks again for the complimen Fussball, but I thought you were looking at my posts fresh off my blog? What happened?
Haha, cheers man
Australia's progress under Osieck
You’ve probably got me there Rob. But Schwarzer is currently Australia’s most capped player while Bosnich is on 17, and never pulled on the No 1 at a World Cup, so I stand by my sentiment.

Brisbane 1-0 Central Coast: match analysis
@ Matt
Well Central Coast were as much in the game as the hosts, just not as dominant on the ball
Thanks for the comment, check out more at passandmovetactics.blogspot.com
Brisbane 1-0 Central Coast: match analysis
alternatively, Lavicka could station a relatively more defensive player than Jamieson at leftback, someone used to playing central. that way the other 3 in the back 4 could shuffle to the right to help cover the space. Maybe somthing like Coyne, Bosschart, Beauchamp and Emerton for the back-4, left to right
Brett Emerton more effective as a fullback?
@ TomC
Thanks for the comment again, was that you on the GCU post?
I guess the point I was trying to make was that with Celeski, Brebner, Vargas and Leijer all playing relatively conservatively, it was emcumbant on Foschini to exploit the space that was left ahead of him. I certainly believe he was less influential than Fabio, Cole and Jamieson, the other 3 fullbacks.
Playing better than Celeski or Allsopp last night, isn’t asking for much.
Melbourne Victory vs Sydney FC: Match Analysis
no worrries fussball
I just think scrappy if a fitting description for a game that was “intense” with “players who had little time on the ball”.

The actual writing is a right b**ch, but if I weren’t writing, the observations and ideas would be coming to me anyway. Figure I might as well post them
Maybe you can help get me onto the Roar experts 😉
