Super Rugby shows that the Bledisloe Cup isn't going anywhere - one selection could give the Wallabies hope

I do like the coaches comments, Reds have started really well, but we cant get ahead of ourselves. What I really liked was seeing our new coach visit our teams. Lifts us all

'Talent can be fickle': Schmidt avoids rushing to conclusions as JOC calls for 'Reds-heavy' Wallabies

GREAT news. Not only a really good coach, a great Rugby man as well. You can take the boy out of Dickson, but ….

Exclusive: Schmidt set to bring 'Lord' back to the Wallabies as first key appointment

This is the conversation World Rugby must be having. Our game is too slow, we need to hold on to a contest for the ball, but I agree with the concept…speed up our game…change from 15 players?’ Have defensive side back 5 mtrs? Something that draws spectators.

Boring, slow Rugby has lost its mojo and needs a makeover - here's some ways to get it back in fashion

Thanks for this. I was lucky enough to play outside him for NSW Country

RA have little to no contact with schools.

Is the Rugby Schools system still as relevant as the days of old - or is it in need of a serious overhaul?

As someone who came from a Public School, played Aust Schoolboys and then made a Wallaby tour..we need to have Rugby in public schools. It wont happen, but thats grassroots. Schoolboys still has a place , community teams need to exist.

They shouldnt have to be be best ,technically , that should be happening at grass roots up. Why not go with the first two.. Both have proven track records, both overseas experience and have proven themselves. One is more technical and the other spontaneous, and mentally tough. We dont need to always go back to Sydney!!!!!

The three contenders to take over the Wallabies if Eddie Jones walks

17 STRAIGHT! Ireland smash Scotland to set up quarter-final vs All Blacks, sweat on Aussie Mack

Another good article. I agree that we should look to Super Rugby asap. In doing so, again, we should copy Ireland.
Ireland play a style of game thats suited for Rugby today. They are fast to breakdown, accurate and use the ball well.
We do however need to look at using opportunities to continue , or begin to, revisit grass roots. Play club games at Super Rugby venues as undercards. Like I saw in Ireland in April this year..have international players attend junior games, build the game in public schools again..and look at better communication with past players. I was a public schoolboy, played for Australian Schoolboy’s as well as a Wallaby tourist…didnt know Aust Schoolboys were playing NZ Schoolboys here in Canberra until I saw it on STAN.

'Beacon of hope': Wallabies' RWC disaster has made Super Rugby success even more vital for the game's future

YES..fully agree, a great article.
To me, this problem, so well delivered in this article, is one part of the jigsaw that Rugby finds itself in today.
In Australia, we compete with fast games , while League is indeed stop start, they continue to review and change rules/laws to make it faster. The Northern hemisphere seem to still sit in the past and seek a slower game..we need to change with the times. Ireland, where Rugby has traditionally faced similar competition to us , has changed their style to be faster( and yes Mack pops up all over the field..unlike the League style wingers who wait for the 5th tackle kick. The All Blacks also attempt to play an expansive game, we have gone away from the running game..we dont even run straight, and an outside back could wear gloves to keep warm at times.
I read an article saying that schoolboy and club Rugby were still strong. Did anyone else watch the Aust vs NZ Schoolboy games recently? It isn’t strong. I have been an educator for over 40 years, the code has died in public schools.
I fully agree with this article, sadly, its but a part of the problem..we need a total change. This game must live on here.

SPIRO ZAVOS: Eddie Jones' coaching flaw is his belief that rugby is the same game as league

With a cooler head. We really should look at Ireland and what they are doing. Rugby is ranked approx the same in Ireland as here, in terms of support..we behind League and AFL, they behind Gaelic Footy and Hurling. They have approx the same number of registered players as here. We have a large number of coaches etc who have worked there. They have grown the game in areas where it was previously a very minor sport. Their national team are heavily involved at grass roots. As we can see they play a fast , targeted game. We need to copy it!!!!!

'Bloody disappointed: Wallabies OUT of World Cup as nation to miss finals for first time, Eddie fights for survival

One of the problems that we are all missing( rightly wanting to hide this morning)…but NZ and even Wobblies, are trying to play a running game..to compete better with League..people want a fast game nowdays. Northern hemisphere are very happy with stoppages, scrum restarts..and League style, on 5th tackle ,kick for the winger. The game has to compete in todays world..In the North they have Soccer…they are happy, and they control world Rugby

AGREE…how many Brumbies in the team today? How far ahead of the rest were they this year? Need to build them, and get back into country

'Bloody disappointed: Wallabies OUT of World Cup as nation to miss finals for first time, Eddie fights for survival

Mmmmmm- we need grassroots , shared development…change

Whatever happened to NSW Country? I had 50 games with them..they dont seem to exist now

'Bloody disappointed: Wallabies OUT of World Cup as nation to miss finals for first time, Eddie fights for survival

50 years ago Tonga beat us in Brisbane…we didnt sit on our bums, but got up and CHANGED the system. I benefited , in a public school, from accredited coaches. We had a system, from grassroots up. We had a dream to play for our country. The changes have to be brutal. We need to look outside Sydney again.

'I don't want to see it die' - Silence, centralisation and Mack Hansen: Why exiled coach wants to help Aussie rugby

Its sad and pathetic. Picks a squad that havent performed, makes Super Rugby comp a laugh ( as players who did perform left out), loses coach, looks to save himself by announcing new Captain and “ young team”…need to remind him the World Cup is now. Deflects , and looks after his backers. We may not even get out of our pool.

Studs and duds: 'Can't do that in Tests' - Tate flaw exposed, Hooper divides opinion, 'absolutely incredible' Angus

Good article. From my seat…Nic White has the best pass in Australia, Gordon has potential, kicking was horrible, but the bigger problem for me was that he takes a pass mid section but then brings it back before then delivering, which looks pretty..but is slow and takes him out of the play as he is on his heels…Mark Ella needs to help him. Tom Hooper played well, he is a number 6, should have Samu or the Queenslander at 7.need urgency at breakdown, run straight, keep the ball in hand, and stop giving away yellow cards and penalties, because we are slow to breakdown
