I just think Nick White is such an annoying person who comes across aggressively and most people do not take that very well. Whether the ref’s finger actually touched White has not been clarified to my knowledge. So a bit of finger wagging? Nick’s response was “You cost us the Championship”. That, was frankly a massive exaggeration! A huge call! But in the heat of the moment something that was designed to rile the ref.

'If I knew you would do that': Raynal made the right decision the wrong way

Couldn’t agree more.
Over the years, I have seen all sorts of contentious issues that Australian players have reacted to poorly and inevitably misinterpreted or got their own way. From The Brumbies getting the coach sacked to supporting Quade Cooper’s attack on McCaw to what happened last weekend. Foley just did not think he had to do what he had been asked to do on multiple occasions. What senior experienced player would think that!
But the worst part is the sense of aggrievement and entitlement the players seem to think they have. It’s one reason other teams love beating the Aussies because they know the reaction that is coming and it brings a smile to their faces.
Whatever Foley says will be in an effort to minimise any responsibility he has for this event. So lots of spin. When in reality he should just learn from it.

Looking ahead. Who will win the Championship?
I suspect the SA’s will win their two games against the Pumas but I don’t think they will get a bonus point. However, that means the AB’s will need to beat Australia twice and that concerns me. If they do win both games, perhaps it indicates consistency is improving.
Then the way the AB’s win on the NH tour (assuming they do), will be a bigger indication.
Given this type of play does become consistent, then the WRC could well be coming back to NZ next year. Now, that would be nice!!

REACTION: 'Desperation and clarity' - All Blacks roll out the heavy artillery as Cheika's Pumas 'suffer emotionally'

The AB problems are multiple. You can’t just point the finger at one thing and say that’s it. Here’s my take for what it is worth. Cain has to go. He shows little on field leadership and certainly doesn’t know how to change the playing style during a half when it is required. I seriously wonder if he even recognises that is required at times. Secondly, Sotutu would have been better than him during this series. Yes, it is embarrassing for him, but he needs to step down if the coaches are not prepared to drop him. And some serious thought needs to go into selecting the next Captain. It is not Ardie’s turn or Brodies because they’ve been good players and been around a while! The coaching seems to get things right at half time. Whatever is said has worked and changed the way the AB’s play. So the question is, it is not that the players do not know, it is that they do not do it during first half and when things are obviously going wrong. So, why? Is the focus during the week on things which do not help? Have the coaches decided to not let the players make changes? Just persevere and do what they are told? I do not know. There is little cohesian amongst players. Individuals are shining thru, but where’s the team focus? So, maybe Robertson can fix this. Can’t do worse that’s for sure.

NZ View: 'Drastic change' demanded with Foster and Cane in crosshairs as 'woefully flawed' ABs need answers fast

Well, this will be interesting. He’ll be under a lot of defensive pressure and he has never been particularly good at that. So, we’ll wait and see.

CONFIRMED: Quade Cooper returns for Wallabies at No.10, Rodda starts, two debutants

I recall around 10-15 years ago, there were lots of statements that nz had more registered players than australia which turned out to be inaccurate. There were slightly more in australia. Yet nz was at it’s height in test, sevens (mens and womens) and Under 20’s. So, numbers didn;t impact too much if at all. Today it is different. Due to loss of interest in the game due to bad performances by wallabies, the numbers of registered players are 141,726 for nz and 86.952 for australia. That reduction certainly won’t help. But this is just a side issue. The real problem is the skill set in australia. And skill set includes how to play the game, how to react to changing situations. Simply needs improving starting at primary school age. In nz, the kids watch the AB’s and seniors games and think that is how you play it so develop those skills from day one. The All Blacks don’t spend too much time on those things. And if they had to, it would be too late and they’d be at the wallabies level.

Wallabies need an urgent injection of composure ahead of Springboks and Pumas
