How big an overhaul does English cricket need?
I can’t agree to less overall test cricket, I think they need to find a way to make it important again. Especially the ECB

I am looking forward to what Marnus can bring on those sub continent tours as well
Joe Root is standing tall as the best in the world at what he does
I did actually, it was more meant to be wordplay; they were close to collapsing but maybe they could pull something off.
England are on the brink of collapse
True ! I just looked it up, forgot he was in the team then. I remember watching Uzzie’s rearguard in the first test and Mohammed Abbas’s five-for in the second test.

It is a fair point, but you cannot deny the team has won test matches to climb up the WTC rankings. It is more a show of progress and how they are improving from a SLC system that really has not helped produce quality cricketers in the last few years. I think they would give their opponents a fair surprise this year.
'Their rise to the top is no fluke': The keys to Sri Lanka’s quiet resurgence
I think this South African Attack is hugely uplifted by Duanne Olivier in the team. Rabada and Ngidi are already proven, and they will be ready to go. And yes, on paper not as good as Steyn, Morkel, Philander, but those guys were on the end of their careers for SA anyway at the time.
India's quest for its last frontier begins on Boxing Day
Time is needed to tell. All his tons have been scored in Australia, he has had no games in South Africa or anywhere in the subcontinent. An average is not a good measure in this case.
Labuschagne best since Bradman after ton
Thanks mate. Agree that Australias batting is still fragile, but it is quite encouraging the middle order stood up in the first Test. Hopefully it shows again
Can England please bring something extra for the Adelaide Test?
Don’t forget Lyons record in pink ball tests as well
Can England please bring something extra for the Adelaide Test?
The fact that it is a pink ball test changes the entire dynamics, barring conditions obviously
Can England please bring something extra for the Adelaide Test?
Not sure I want England to win, I just want them to come close to winning
Can England please bring something extra for the Adelaide Test?
I know what you mean Micko, but the crows chants are part of the cricket really. I also feel like its a healthy test for opposition

I am so glad that this was disapproved haha. 👍 I don’t think many expected that performance from Travis Head, I was there when he walked in and I was like here’s another collapse. But he batted amazingly ! Barmy Army were in their numbers, it was quite good to watch.
Why Australia are bigger favourites to retain the Ashes than you think
We all know Starc can get wayward. His spell on the second session of Day 3 allowed Root and Malan to really settle in. I felt he could’ve been used in shorter bursts and Cam Green could have been given a better go.

I do hope Carey takes to it, he looked good in the first innings.

The phrase ‘no way’ could be a bit harsh, you’re right. But it wouldn’t have been a wise move to continue with Paine as a solution, just not sustainable. I think we all appreciated what he had done as captain.

Idk Paul, losing test series at home which seems to be the strength of all teams nowadays is a pretty good sign England are behind the 8 ball. They did do well in Sri Lanka and that first Test in India, but it was really Root the batter that made them happen. And with how things were going against India in the second series, the momentum seemed to be with the touring team. But yeah, no team has absolutely solid batting line up that can conquer overseas conditions, agreed.
