So applying your logic, anyone found with a firearm, should be charged with murder? Fortunately, The overarching criminal justice system in Australia, does not rely on circumstantial evidence. Weir was prosecuted for possessing illegal jiggers. There was no evidence which “beyond reasonable doubt” proved how the jiggers were used. Anyone can speculate, even put those thought-bubbles to print.

In regards to the UAE, do you even know who Mary Robinson is? She has awards from around the world for her human rights work. She is involved in numerous organisations and causes in regards to human rights, equality, the environment and a number of other social justice issues.

You mention how women are treated in the UAE. This foreign country, along with a number of other Arab nations have different cultural practices to Australia. Are you suggesting that as a consequence of these differences, such nations or their representatives, should not be allowed into our community, or at the least be harassed about these practices occurring overseas? Very topical at present.

Again, thankfully Australia relies upon the ethos of “innocent until proven guilty”, as well as various laws defending human rights, animal welfare and dozens of other social justice issues.

If you believe that any of these laws are not suitable enough, then submit your findings and recommendations to the government for the appropriate response.

Tough questions are lacking in the racing industry

Horse racing is a billion dollar industry in Australia alone, good luck banning it. Look what happened when NSW tried to ban greyhound racing. Only in Toytown Canberra did it stick. Greyhounds are comparatively the poor cousins to thoroughbreds and a much easier target for the fake activists to be posers.

Florida, one of the first States to formalise greyhound racing in the US, has passed legislation to now ban it. Interestingly, the two biggest States for thoroughbreds are California and New York, which so happen to be two of the more progressive and elitist. The Supreme Court over there has just found Federal laws prohibiting gambling as unconstitutional, which now means there will be more tax revenue created as the various States jump on board sports gambling.

Horse racing is about the only thing in which the battlers and the toffs rub shoulders and there are tens of millions of people around the world, either actively involved or are supporters of the sport. it will never stop.

People everywhere push the envelope for personal gain, it doesn’t mean everyone is doing it. That is, except for the progressive elites and their fake activism.

Racing a public punching bag

I started watching the Canberra Capitals back in the 1980s and I was also part of the support staff for the Matildas in 1999/2000. To compare sports with long established leagues/competitions and with a National team pathway, to a competition entering its third season, is very short-sighted.

It’s interesting to see the number of players “defecting” from other sports to play our game and it’s a pity the AFLW wasn’t established last century, like other sports. In any event, the standard will undoubtedly improve. If you’re interested, I think it is great to be able to witness the establishment of the AFLW and I give credit to the first generation players.

2019 AFL Women's season: Round 1 preview

I’m not concerned that much about the North not being able to sign these big fish, Kelly, Martin, Gaff, as they all re-signed with their existing club. For me, the test as to whether you are a destination club, is when there are a number of clubs vying for the player.

Gaff rejects Roos, re-signs with West Coast

I agree, it’ll be a pity if we lose Clarke, I thought he’d be with us for a long time, possibly even a future captain.

In our squad rebuild, we’ve identified that outside speed is the priority, so targeting similar players is not that unusual. A lot of players have the necessary attributes, but it’s whether they can fit into the squad dynamic.

Although in relation to Hartung, poor bloke did make a lot of mistakes for a first-grader.

In defence of shooting for the moon, or why I love North Melbourne's AFL trade strategy

It was free kick to Maynard, I thought it was then and nothing has changed my mind since. However, I also agree that Howe should have been pinged for holding the ball, he even gave himself up. So I agree with Matthews to a certain extent. Razor would have given both!

Matthews criticises grand final umpires for 'choke'

This act by Baird is just another sad reflection of the state of our politics. It is pure opportunism to shore up the support of minor parties. The government will see this case through to a certain point and then negotiate a compromise, with an overhaul of the industry. They will save face with the minors with a “at least we tried” and “we did get focus on the industry and you can participate in all of the new regulation”.

Of course the sad outcome is that the money spent by the industry on the fight, will not be there for the overhaul. Hopefully, that can form part of the compromise.

The blatant falsehood in the NSW Government's greyhound ads

Justin – That is why I said “not now…”, meaning not after this debacle. Everyone knew this would have drawn well, it was hyped enough. The bean-counters got what they wanted and will now move on to the next drawcard, smacks of commercial desperation to me. After all, McGregor can’t fight at every PPV, Lesnar can only appear if he can break the rules,Rousey and Jones are loose cannons.

Outside of bringing back retirees, big drawcards are thin on the ground, makes you think about the sale of UFC a bit more. Now that the UFC is a corporate plaything, having the best fighters will simply not be enough.

CM Punk's one-night stand in the UFC

Can Punk draw PPV buys? Not now and probably not ever. He was embarrassed and overwhelmed. When UFC drop him, I just can’t see him jobbing around in the minors as a 37 year old rookie. Once his failure is forgotten, I do think he will be back in the minors…of Pro-Wrestling, maybe even Japan.

CM Punk's one-night stand in the UFC

It was naive of all concerned to think that Punk could be competitive without any Octagon experience. MMA is far too professional now and even in the old days, it was the more experienced fighters who were successful, more often than not.

Pro wrestlers are not all sideshow freaks, a lot are outstanding athletes. However, regardless of who you are and whether you can draw a crowd, if you do not have a background and essentially, success in at least one combat sports discipline, you will be on a hiding to nothing.

CM Punk's one-night stand in the UFC

My concern is that virtually every other week, a round of footy is dedicated to a particular cause and I question the sincerity of the AFL. People can become cause-fatigued and the message is lost.

I understand that some people strongly believe that sports should be a role model for society and that athletes are regularly held to a higher standard. However, this can become farcical and shows a lack of understanding and true intent by the sports organisations. For example, I think it was last year that an ACT Brumbies player decided to protest against further mining in the Hunter Valley and along with other protesters, chained himself to a fence and was duly arrested. He was then disciplined by his club (and maybe by the ARU as well) for bringing the game into disrepute!

Social justice cannot cut both ways and the AFL and other organisations should have a clear understanding of what this means and the expectations it places on all employees, associates and the paying public. At this point, I can’t help but think that it is nothing more than a marketing platform.
