Would Hopgood be at least the next in line to Carrigans lock position?
Also how does accounting for potential concussions to any of the props play into the bench rotation makeup? Just thinking of Lindsay Collins’ concussion history; if he goes down I’d rather have a like-for-like e.g. Tom Gilbert on the bench ready to go.
I’d have Fifita on the bench only if we planned to sub 1/2 of our starting 2nd rows, and also if we’re confident he could provide the impact we think we’d need in the middle if something were to happen and our prop rotations were to be thrown off even further off i.e. multiple concussions/injuries in the middles.
