We keep hearing what a champion side this Waratahs team is, however in reality they are not in the same class as the real SR Teams. IMO they didn’t really win the 2014 comp – they were gifted it by a rash [and rare] decision from the Crusaders that resulted in Foley being handed a long shot at the posts. Would they be the champion team that’s talked about now if that hadn’t happened in 2014??
However let’s stop referring to them as champions until they’ve earned their stripes, which will be difficult with the succession plan that NSW Rugby currently has in place.

They may have world-class players, but the Waratahs are in a rebuilding phase

Lost their discipiline?? Lost their leadership as well unless it’s a good example to follow their captain into every meelee/punchup on the paddock. Hooper not leadership material-yet.

Where was the discipline in the Brumbies-Waratahs clash?

Off Topic – But Connected!
I’m trying to locate a good Rugby Streaming Channel – viewing from Aus NBN Fibre Optic.
Last season I used ‘www.edigitalplace’ who were’nt too bad but thought I’d see if anybody knew of an alternative.
Tried ‘live24streamingtv’ last week and they were so bad – no broadcast just continual buffering and NO backup service.
Any other suggestions appreciated?
Many thanks

Rugby World Cup: Southern semi-finals confirmed, as Scotland leave Wallabies with plenty to work on

Now we see the real wobblies? Seems we’ve not really got on top of the last few years systemic problems, coz up popped the Wobblies of old. Hard to single anyone in particular out – It was a team effort and it deserved to see them on the plane home today. However another performance like this in the next match and they’ll certainly be calling Qantas. Scotland was hard done by but the Pumas won’t be. A performance like that by the Wobblies will see the Pumas in the final. And, I’ve a feeling we’ll see that, notwithstanding…

Just the sort of numbskull comment the Wallabies don’t need. They have a good game and people like Waugh have got them winning everything in sight. Just when we thought the Wallabies [and Oz] with Cheika’s advocacy were getting past this mentality and looking composed and circumspect on and off the paddock.

Wallabies are World Cup favourites: Waugh

Agreed biltongbek.
As Gordon Bray [Ch10] announced at the end of the game – A Masterclass!!
It’s pointless singling out a Wallaby who caused the loss – There’s not an Aussie player available at present who Cheika who could have picked in a Wallaby team who could have beaten the AB’s last night.
And it’s not going to happen any time soon. A team to beat the AB’s consistently cannot be built in a few months. it’s going to take steady consistent building over years, not months, to build a team that has a chance of getting close to the AB’s. As a well respected coach [McQueen] said when he began his AB challenge, ‘if we want to beat these guys, we need to play them their way”. We all know the outcome.
I’m not sure if there’s any capacity in Aus [ARU] to understand this philosophy right now.
Until somebody does, expect another 30 year black out at Eden Park and another 13 year Bledisloe mauling.

Quade Cooper has a shocker as All Blacks hammer the Wallabies

I just get the feeling Steve Healey & Craig Tiley might be a bit precious – Clearly there’s a beef here or nothing would have been heard from Tomich and if Healey & Tiley can’t cop a bit of comment for withdrawing normal practice support, [and obviously there’s more] then what sort of blokes are they – They have a great talent in the young Tomich, but if the only way they can handle it is by way of airing dirty linen, we’ve got the wrong people at the top of Australia Tennis. These bloke are s’posed to be grown ups and I would have thought as such at the top of Tennis Aus it meant nurturing young players into maturity. Do they really think they can put the stick into Tomich senior and Tomich junior’s isn’t going to react. Healey and Tiley need to grow up and handle matters in the best interests of developing the best tennis talent we have available in Australia. There are certainly wiser heads around Australian tennis who are speaking with sanity. Perhaps Healy & Tiley are just passed their used by date.

Bernard Tomic: Between a rock and a hard place

Just a great game – pity in some ways there had to be a winner – but that’s the game and I just loved the way Highlanders played and thought it!!
Blast from the past Machooka – Haven’t heard No Names foreva – Hey – probably saw you there!! When we passed the cordial round….
Must admit I cheekily picked a NZ final a number of weeks ago, much to my Aus mates chagrin….
A great mate of mine from Dunedin has also waited all those years for a Highlanders SF Trophy – sadly he left us last year before seeing them get there – Bet he was watching though – Reckon you’d have loved that Trev!! Now you can RIP.
