As a 20+ year member if someone had said to me Freo will make a semi-final at the ‘G, I would have taken that in an instant. It was a good year ‘cept for those games in the wet at Optus where we were a bit “hopeless”.
Even so I feel very starved of success.

Yeah, nah. Jackson will be coming and will be a great acquisition as he will negate the NicNat type ruckman who jump over the top of Darcy. It won’t be whether they can play together but who takes the main role according to who we play.
I think Jeremy Sharp would be a great acquisition particularly if we can get Liam Henry out the door. Henry isn’t at AFL level and in the Peel final last Saturday was positively awful. Speaking of the Peel game Sammy Sturt was unsighted in the 1st half and and phenomenal in the 2nd; Johnson was outstanding; Erasmus was OK; Wilson was BOG and Meek not far behind. Why Walker gets a game over Wilson defies my understanding.
Dockers have also been scouting Corbett from Suns all season but sadly so have a few other clubs. He would be handy. And for me I’ve thought for 10 years that Fyfe would make a star CHF. Just needs for JLo and Nat to commit to make it work. We win enough ball in the middle now. We lack players who win one-on-ones the forward line.

I agree with the sentiments expressed. I reckon Kane Cornes is the Tucker Carlson of AFL Media. I do enjoy AFL 360 when GW tries to explain his point to MR. There is the look GW has when he realises whatever argument he was making is beyond MR’s comprehension.
Having said all that I can’t believe Collingwood let De Goey head to Bali. Don’t they know the history of the Dutch in Indonesia. It was never going to end well.
Also is it true De Goey’s fine was $5k for his attitude to women and $20K for his dancing?

I think Hagdorn is a serious journalist because a recent article quoting him nearly killed me. I read “Respected AFL commentator, Kim Hagdorn …” and nearly choked to death on my breakfast waffle.
